My worst driving incident with my instructor was hitting my wing mirror when practicing driving through a width restrictor! Not the end of the world though but super awkward at the time. I did my test in Morden and got a similar route haha
gotta bring these people back. this was hilarious. honestly idk if it would do well but maybe some kinda road trip video (no motorways) might just be fun idk.
8:11 so I actually failed my first test for this. I was at a bridge that has a give way line before, there was nobody coming so I went, but the bridge takes you round a blind corner. There was a van and a trailer parked too close to the exit of the bridge, so I moved out and there was a junction to the right and a mini come flying out the junction. I went too close to the van so the mini didn’t hit me and he failed me for clearance, but he told me I didn’t wait at the give way line for long enough. It’s a very poorly designed road layout!
You're absolutely right about failing right at the end of your test by the test centre. That's exactly what I did in my first one. 3 minor faults and we have a very tight 1st gear narrow turn onto the test centre road and I went down the road before it too fast and didn't brake more and as a result went over the kerb. Second test passed with 2 minor faults. Also in terms of accidents, just before lockdowns started, my first car was written off while I was passenger from being rear ended from a delivery truck, similar to the story you gave except we were already slowed down to 30mph or so on a dual carriageway coming up to traffic lights and then stopped and vehicle behind clearly wasn't slowing down enough or thought we were going to push through on amber
The kerbing on the Peugeot's black alloys really pained me😂 I guess that not all BMW drivers are bad! I think that you should go to Manchester, there is too many 20's in London! I have downloaded the Otimo app too I'd say my worst crash (and only) is when I crashed into a lamppost going 5 mph and write off my car! I was avoiding pedestrians at the time!
22:51 wouldn't doing this corner like this also be coasting. They have a little bit of a habit of keeping the clutch down but maybe it's the best thing to do on these slower / tighter turns
Yes, still coasting. She was in control so an examiner wouldn't mark it on a test but it's definitely not the best way to drive. Select the correct gear for the corner in advance, lift the clutch then turn
It is and isnt. depends on the situation. For example a pedestrian looking like they were going to cross at a zebra crossing would have priority where as on a normal crossing you would be aware they might cross but not necessarily yield to them. Now you would be expected to yield at both situations.
I actually had a bad accident on my old motorbike. I lived in the middle of nowhere and a farm had gotten mud all over a road and my bike just slipped from under me, wasn’t going fast, but because my head hit the embankment and pushed my head right back, I broke my spine (C5) which wasn’t fun!! As I was alone I had to take my helmet off to call for help!! The road was normally dead that time of day but luckily a car came finally and they called helped me. That was 20 years ago this November!!!! (Man I’m old 😂)
11:55 I got hit from behind whilst I was at a traffic light, guy behind must have been going at least 30mph, think he was probably drunk. No tax, no insurance. Wrote off the Peugeot 😭
Back when I had my tests in 2016, it was a 3 month wait between tests even back then but maybe it depends on your test centre. Over where I am there's several towns in like a 15 mile radius which all go to the same centre so
Those we're the days!! We used to complain that if someone needed a quick retest it was impossible and the system was broken haha. Now you cant get a test at all!! ahh the good old days 🙄😫
I'm so disappointed. I did so well on my driving test yesterday, and because I'm always watching these mock test videos, I assumed that at the end of my test, the examiner would say "switch off your engine". I made such a stupid mistake, I put the handbrake up, put the gear in neutral and then she asked me to stand outside the car, but I didn't turn off the engine and I immediately failed right there.
not been in an accident in my year of driving, but being a passenger we were side swiped and he drove off so we chased him. he stopped, so we stopped, then he reversed and hit us again. we got around him, he then rammed us and both stopped. got out, he nearly ran over my dad. so we pulled over for the police to later find out he went to the station to report us. all in Swindon. i’ve vowed to never drive there 😅
about 13 months after passing, hospital car park, i got through the gates and joined the que about 15-17 meters away. old lady in her 70's clips of clutch full gas i see it in mirror i got on brakes braced as well as i could as back issues it long way to head rest she rams in to me and bounces of me that time i hold her back but she came back for 2nd ram this times brakes did not hold and pushed in to car ahead, what brand new. old lady in her 70's the way she said it you not getting nothing from me i should caught on she false plates made up reg as comes back to no car / bike nothing, so no insurance. i had injury's still suffer today years later triggered old lifting injury and younger two spine operations and my insurance encouraged me to sue as only way to get back £400 excess from gov pot money for uninsured drivers but everything what i suffered had to be put down did what they said, thats almost to the end from end 2019. even tho no driver fault my insurance did not drop as much as normal so i was penalized by few £200 ish pounds for the next few years as everyone i no 2nd year insurance halved mine did not and i hop i never see her again i block her in with force if necessary till police arrive, i put of treatment because anger and what id do if i seen her, only 2 weeks ago i went back anxiety and anger so treatment years of delays. one plus note i do not know how but only had 1 years no claims but some how they protected it, but always been fully comp but i still surprised as i did not read protected i cold not even tick a box to protect so one plus out lot stress. next time i prob won't fight brakes, prob reason car frame was bent rear boot hard to open and could not close and extra injury's
i was told at 40 hours im ready my nerves were not, the money side did not bother me id saved up for lesson car and insurance plus extra so soon i started i could go all at it. i did extra 15-16 hours at £30 an hour, leading up to test 6 hours one week. as i was ready i was taken to much more complex routes and anything test be easy, then focus on my breathing keep nerves in check. and as my test nearly hour 55-58 mins long i was happy i paid the extra 15-16 hours as my nerves were battered near the end that were the 2 minors came but extra lessons helped me get nerves back in check and finish of good. pass first time 2 minors so happy days. was busy in places very but that was not reason long test it crazy long route covered everything from towns tight castle walls to single track lanes to duel 70 to motorway big roundabout it went on for ever and never want that again
Roads are not for cars. That is a misconception. Roads are to transport people, weather that be on foot or a bike, or in car or driving a bus. It's simply about transporting people not the mode of transport. Just because you drive a car the road does not belong to you. It's for all people
😂😂😂 She goes on top of the kerb and fails her parallel parking...but she only gets "that is fine for someone who drove for only 3 years" 😮. Sorry mate, but what if a mother with a child in pram was just passing and she wouldn't have stopped? After 3 years you'd expect more discipline.
I like your videos. Please, I'm not on Instagram, Facebook, twitter or Tik Tok. How can I contact you directly? I live in Kennington not far from your place (Camberwell). Thanks.
When Beth stopped in the middle of the road before Francis had told her cracked me up, love you guys

Aww you would be surprised how much that happens! Did you pass on this route?
30:16 I absolutely jumped out of my skin when you shouted my name 😂😂 Definitely Manchester
I always see you Haydn!! 😊
@@fitnessfran lol same
we haydens are a rare breed
Passed my Practical Test on Thursday with only 1 fault. Couldn’t have done it without these videos, many thanks and good luck to the rest of y’all!
gotta bring these people back. this was hilarious. honestly idk if it would do well but maybe some kinda road trip video (no motorways) might just be fun idk.
so reefreshing :D really enjoyed this one Francis!
😄👌 awesome
Worst experience is
When my mum and I were driving and she followed the tram in Croydon into the tram stop at sanderlands 😂😂

I passed my test 2 months ago now (time goes so quick😅 it’s crazy!!!) but I will always continue watching your vids!! 🎉❤

27:28 she really has a habit of holding the clutch down and it's especially noticeable down this straight. reduces effectiveness of the brakes also
30:25 it would be very interesting to see you guys driving in Manchester 😂😂

😂😂 omg almost wet my pants…Francis shouting stop was the best!!!
😂😂😂👀
4:22 is this new highway code? I thought pedestrians have had priority for ages lol, or pretty sure it was even a thing when I started in 2015 ish
It is and isnt. depends on the situation. For example a pedestrian looking like they were going to cross at a zebra crossing would have priority where as on a normal crossing you would be aware they might cross but not necessarily yield to them. Now you would be expected to yield at both situations.
I'm around Manchester too but not sure I could provide suggestions of what areas you could cover
Are yoooou! Next time I mention Manchester I'll remember your name too 😆

13:24 very early on the clutch here!
The parallel parking bit would have been a fail in a real test
For ending on the kerb? Yes I think it usually would!
lol not even close
Nope. on the kerb is a minor, on the pavement is a major (fail)
I'm so disappointed. Omg 😱 that’s insane!! How did THAT get resolved??
Worst accident I have been in is on my motorbike. Got side-swiped by a car and broke my collar bone

I have never been in a crash
24:26 you didn't do a full check, sighs, and then does it again kinda😂 sorry about so many individual comments, I'm commenting as I watch
🤣 Love it Stallzy!
How does the app judge/score your driving test?
i was told at 40 hours im ready my nerves were not, the money side did not bother me id saved up for lesson car and insurance plus extra so soon i started i could go all at it. i did extra 15-16 hours at £30 an hour, leading up to test 6 hours one week. as i was ready i was taken to much more complex routes and anything test be easy, then focus on my breathing keep nerves in check. and as my test nearly hour 55-58 mins long i was happy i paid the extra 15-16 hours as my nerves were battered near the end that were the 2 minors came but extra lessons helped me get nerves back in check and finish of good. pass first time 2 minors so happy days. was busy in places very but that was not reason long test it crazy long route covered everything from towns tight castle walls to single track lanes to duel 70 to motorway big roundabout it went on for ever and never want that again

The back seat of that Peugeot looks pretty cramped.
Next stop Birmingham!!!
I’m 18 next month and have never been in any form of car accident and idk if I’m lucky or karmas gonna hit me like a bitch
