This is the best tutorial and knitting machine pattern I have ever bought! I have bought SO many “beginner step by step” patterns only to be confused and frustrated because they really aren’t step by step at all! Thank you! I’m going to buy ALL your knitting machine patterns
In these "tutorials" it is not what they tell you to do but what they leave out and don't tell you. They are experts on the job so they forget the very simple things. This is a very good video. An explanation of what I mean; Lauren did not tell you to clamp the machine to the table before you start. I know that this sounds silly but I have seen similar things happen and go wrong. Thank you Lauren for letting me post this. Dennis.
Saying I love this work, is an understatement. I tried it at home and it was surprising to my mom and sisters. You are a blessing to all Knitters out there. I use brother's 801 at home Please can I request you teach how to knit a skirt. I would really love to try it at home
Awww you are so sweet! So happy to hear that! 😊 I have knitted a couple skirts and would love to demonstrate them in a future tutorial - a dress is coming next! 💜
Fabulous tutorial! I am teaching my daughter to use this machine, but you are a better teacher, and I think she would look great in that bra top/sweater dress! I look forward to more of your tutorials!!
Such great instructions! I have a singer memo Matic who hates me lol so I'm nervous to get it out to try. I specifically liked how you talked about the settings on the carriage. I have read my manual a million times and it never explains what each setting does. I still have difficulty casting on due to these settings. It's very frustrating. Thank you from Australia!
Awww so happy to hear it helped! Agree I think it's hard to understand from the manual - I was lucky to have an immersive in person experience with a teacher to get me past the learning curve - think I would have gone crazy trying to learn on my own! Knitting machines aren't the most intuitive 😉 I hope you pull it back out!
Wonderful, clear tutorial. Looking fwd to my machine arriiving so I can get started. I've browsed your other patterns, well some of them, and like how you vary the stitch to add design yet keep it simple.
This is an easy to understand tutorial! I think you just convinced me to purchase a knitting machine. There isn't much content for knitting men's apparel out there. This does give me a foundation though. Thank you!
I watched this video in full before I even picked up the machine, and I have a feeling that this might be the first garment I make on my KX350 (so far I've made exactly 1.5 swatches, but I have a couple of shawls in the queue then I think I'll be ready for a garment!)
I haven't watched your vid, yet, but I tried to hand knit a bra top for my daughter a few years ago and it was a d i s a s t e r! I have an LK100, so I'll have to give your vid a watch, and the bra another shot. Thanks for the inspiration!
@@girlyknits I am adding it to my do to list! :) Right now I'm using my LK100 to make jumbo i-cord yarn for a jumbo lap blanket for a good friend. These machines definitely make quick work of the i-cord! Very satisfying!
When moving the purl bump over for the increase you could pick up the bar between the 2 "real" stitches from the back, then twist it before putting it on the needle. That would be the equivalent of a "M1" in hand-knitting and eliminate any hole.
Toni, thank you for your comment. When you say, “pick up from the back,” are you referring to the side that would be facing me, which is the back of the front section. Just looking for clarity. Again, thank you.
Yes! I usually use dial 1 or 2 for fingering weight yarn. The pattern has the option to insert any gauge you are working with, you just need to know your stitches and rows per inch.
Hi there, Love your tutorials. I've been trying to use this method of mock rib for a sweater with disastrous results. Firstly the cast on comb likes to drop off, and sometimes stitches are dropped. I'm using 122 sts for back of jumper. Am I using too many needles???
Hmmm that's strange! Definitely not too many needles, I've used all 150 before. That's weird that the cast on comb would drop off, I'm not sure what's going on. Hope you're able to figure it out and make your sweater!
Hi Ruth! I only demonstrated the waistband of the skirt as the rest of it is just basic shaping. The pattern can be found here! www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/you-glow-girl-top-and-skirt
I would like a tutorial for a tank top for girls ages 8 and 12. Can this pattern be lengthened and the straps just made 7 to 10 stitches wide without changing the setting on the carriage?
Sure, I don't see why not! And yes for the straps you don't have to do i-cord - if you just knit them in stockinette they will naturally curl and mostly look the same.
Hi! Yes there are two options - either you can make the mock ribbing portion longer, or you can add additional rows of knitting after the mock ribbing before starting the underarm shaping. The ribbing is intended to be fitted under your bust though, so depending on how much longer you made it, you might want to do a looser tension for the mock ribbing so it's not so tight. I also have this tank dress version which could be made shorter to be more like a tank top. Hope that helps! www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dream-on-tank-dress
Hello girly knit! I loved your video so much I would like to buy this machine Can u make a video how to make a bikini through this machine And another question, can we use crochet material with this machine ?
Hi! The pattern lets you adapt the bra top for any gauge you are working with, you can find it here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/get-it-girl-bra-top I'm not sure what you mean by 7 and 8 though?
@@girlyknits i have Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn and it is thick, when using crochet hook it needs size 4 mm or more Will this type of knitting machine can take this thick of yarn ?
Hi! It looks like this is a #5/Bulky yarn. You can use bulky yarns on the LK150 by using every other needle. I used Bernat Velvet to make a sweater doing this, I think these yarns are similar. A Bulky knitting machine (9mm) would work best with that yarn, though it is possible to use it on a mid-gauge machine (6.5mm) like the LK150 using every other needle.
