Great reaction! This performance has already been analyzed with pitch monitor software. The notes were hit immediately and with millimeter accuracy, the vibrato is always consistent and without irregularities, the perfect formation of vowels is impossible for someone who is 10 years old and has never studied music, various portamentos were used in the descent of notes, the breath support is amazing, the rhythm is impeccable, no nervousness, the body posture is perfect, the relaxation of the face and jaw is exemplary, the vocal range is amazing, the Italian pronunciation is very good, no auto-tuning or pitch corrector was used. This is a performance by a super soprano.
Amira was completely unknown until she appeared on Holland's Got Talent in 2013 (which she won, of course) when she was nine years old. She learned the song of her first audition on UA-cam simply by listening to it. She had NO training in music and performed the piece perfectly. She is a prodigy and her talent is a gift to the world. Go Amira!
This performance will be marked as one of the greatest ever taking music and our emotions to new heights. Doesn't matter as the years go by or Amira grows up - this is Beauty Frozen in Time. Your assessment of Amira is very accurate. No matter what your taste in music, when she begins to sing you have to listen because you are hearing something so incredibly beautiful. If you take time tome study her history you'll find she is a multi faceted person. She is an accomplished long distance cross country runner which accounts for her incredible voice control besides having the lungs of an elephant. She isn't even straining when hitting those high notes and sustaining them. She is a philanthropist. One half of her income goes to a charity she set up to build playgrounds for children in poor neighborhoods of South Africa. These were children who had nothing and now have the same as the rich kids in town. I believe she's completed 19 so far with 6 more on the drawing board. Her motto is "All children have a right to play." She did this before she was 11 and there is still more. At the ripe old age of 15 she was chosen as South Africa's delegate to the World Peace Club. She was there with princes, princesses, Miss Universe, various world leaders, and the Pope. With her talent and beauty she also has brains. Graduated high school valedictorian of her class. Wouldn't have expected anything less. She is now in university studying of all things, music. She may be teaching it before she's done.

This was a rendition of O mio babbino caro (O my dear Papa), an aria of the opera Gianni Schicchi by Puccini. Amira had already a great charisma and an amazingly bright voice at the age of 10, but no voice teacher yet, indeed she totally self taught, imitating a few opera singers on You Tube, like Maria Callas.
It was certainly an outstanding performance, but there are many others to watch on YT, sometimes with a huge production and a big audience, sometimes in a little church with a few persons only. She performed musicals, hymns, opera's arias of course, and so on.
Now, she will be 20 years old next month, lives in South Africa and continues to sing better and better...
Not poor Amira. Confident Amira, Exited Amira. Adorable Amira. One can, feel the touch of God with all of Amiras Performances. Amira has an ability to touch one's soul through her music. Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, Amiras "Ave Maria" by Gomez at age 11 is most certainly Divinely Inspired. Just 3 of Amiras must see Scared Arias. Amira just turned 20, at University now. Has taken everything life has thrown at her, with grace, charm, and confidence. Her beautiful smile was and is always present.

In my opinion, Amira and Lucy Thomas are the best singers ever to grace this world! You should listen to Amira's rendition of "Amazing grace" (when she was 14 years old) performed in South Africa in 2018, as well as "Your love" in the same year (too many top class performances to mention).

Andre Rieu had seen her on Hollands got talent six months earlier, and been sufficiently impressed to give her a little coaching and to invite her to perform. She is singing it in Italian, not a language she speaks, but she knows the aria well enough to fill it with emotion.. As well as being exceptionally talented, she is also a hard worker, and quick on the uptake. She has sung all around the world and is just starting a university course in music. There are a lot of examples of her singing over the last 10 years, I recommend - Ave Maria, Gomez, from 2015. O sole mio duet from 2016. Gesu BambinoI, informal recording, from 2023, and Amen, with the Ndlovu youth choir, again from 2023.

I had to smile when she said her cosen instrument is "voice" and will incude a course in conducting, following the example from Amira's friend Alma.
Of course there are Amiras 2 Streaming concerts. Of which most songs are not public. Amiras performance of "Unchained Melody" in Italian is beyond Phenomenal.
I first watched her about 8 years ago as she auditioned on HGT and then won. There are only a few singers who get the tears dripping. Angelina Jordan, Amira Will;igkagen and Laura Brittan along with Jackie Evancho.

She reaches the parts other singers cannot reach, spiritually speaking.Definitely life affirming, a young lady of Christian faith and has often left me with wet eyes but in a happy way. I've seen two of these. She did two shows. This was from the second one. They show this one the most. You'll notice how many people were crying throughout. When they did the first show, they focused mainly on her and Andre and the orchestra. Someone realized what happened in the audience and they focused out there too for the second show.
I couldn't stop the tears and just starting thanking God.

I have watched this many times but it still brings tears to my eyes! You summed up her talent perfectly, when music touches you this way you know it’s good! I can't believe you haven't reacted to Angelina performing for the Nobel Peace Prize in December. Unchained Melody with the complete KORK orchestra!! !Seventeen years old
Amira Willighagen did win Holland Got Talent in 2013 with "Nessun Dorma" (with over 50% of the votes), at age 9, and Angelina Jordan did win Norway Got Talent (with 46% of the votes) only one year later with "Summertime", in 2014, at age 8... To me that is unbelievable, but it is the true. I follow them both (and Lucy thomas as well), but as Amira is from the Netherlands I had the privilege to be able to visit two Christmas concerts from Amira: one just over the boarder in Belgium and one in the Netherlands. What an experience!! Amira has not produced as many video's as Angelina has, but the video's she has made over the years are all musical treasures. Her most recent one is produced in South Africa (where she lives since 5 years now) in 2023; "Amen". I can really advise you to react on that one... It is wonderful simplicity at its very best: a "one word song", a goosebumper. And it probably will encourage you to watch even more video's from Amira. Amira sings mainly classical, cross-over and religious music (she has a very strong faith). She is not a pop singer but, like Angelina and Lucy, she has embraced another genre.
How lucky you are to see Amira Willighagen in concert...
By the way, Audrey Hepburn too lived for a couple of years in Arnhem, very close to Nijmegen. Amira always admired her and performed several of her songs, like Moon River or a My Fair Lady medley.
Just a small correction: Amira has produced 10 times as many videos as Angelina Jordan, spread across several channels. For example, counting only the videos with more than one million views, Amira has 87.
@@jorgechavesfilho I only do check the official channels from the artists I follow (and channels which are linked directly to the artists via their UA-cam channel), not the seperate channels made by fans. So maybe that makes a difference. I don't know. Most important is that we like what we are seeing and hearing.
@@JaapFilius Yes. Amira doesn't own the copyright to her performances on HGT, as well as to several major concerts in which she takes part. Angelina doesn't usually do that. But I don't often listen to pop singers.
You mentioned movie themes. Her performance of "Your Love" from "Once Upon a Time in The West" at 13 yrs old is one of my favorites.
She is fond of the music of Ennio Morricone, and has sung a few of his pieces, such as La Califfa, and Live in concert - Nella Fantasia. She has also sung musical numbers like Sound of Music. Anything that is life affirming appeals to her.
Actually there were more than 10,000. There were 10,000 ticket holders seated on the square, and another 2, to 3,000 plus seated at the tables on the street put out by the Pubs and Restaurants next to the square. Under Dutch law she was only permitted to perform on 2 nights. This video is the video of the 2nd night, same size crowd both nights. This video has been viewed over 95 million times and counting!!

Copyright issues ended years ago. Most of her You Tube videos can be freely used and are used to promote her. Other material is available for purchase from Gelukskinders, her charity organisation. You might enjoy a South African concert in which she sang Nessun Dorma, and the Flower Duet, with Corlea Botha (CIG 2017). Her Sound of Music medley at 15 is also worth your attention. Amira is fluent in Dutch (her own language), English, and Afrikaans, but sings in around 11 languages. More recently she sang privately in an empty church, with her father on the organ (Gesu Bambino). There is very much more. Thank you for featuring her. Ps. Name pronounced Villighaagen.

As a sort of preface to my suggested song list, I’ll say this. She only had the 3 performances, in Hollands Got Talent, and I have never seen anyone improve so much from performance to the next.
If you think the first one is good (and you can’t help but will believe it is), then just wait and see the joyful series of surprises that are in store for you for her next two appearances.
She did have lessons after the first appearance and it clearly shows.

Just remember, it’s about who has talent, not who is perfect. She does have a few phrases/breath control issues, but it’s still a huge delight to listen to. And the reasons why it’s so delightful will soon became very clear as to why.
I have never seen so many truly and honestly GOBSMACKED reactions from judges before.
Their jaws were literally dropping in sheer and absolutely honest disbelief and in (very pleasant) surprise too.
Her calm poise is also a wonder to behold as well. And she was only Nine years old.
Also, watch out for when they show the shocked draw dropping reaction from another contestant backstage. It’s priceless in its own way too.

I would suggest you react to this first video. She actually speaks it in English, not bad considering it’s not her first language.
She is cheeky and she explains very well indeed about her pure joy in music. And her wrap up way of explaining that, actually had the interviewers all crack and laugh of camera, not at her mind you, but in surprise at her open and honest answer. It’s a very charming short little video indeed, and it explains a lot, despite its short length.
