    I have the regular model, the 2017 Toyota RAV-4 LE with AWD, and I love this car. Simple to drive, nothing too ground-breaking in terms of technology, but it drives great. I've never had any problems with it for the last 3-4 years I've had the car. Toyota makes very good and reliable cars.

      What's your RAV4 mpg?

    • @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan
      @TonyKimtheamusementparkfan 3 роки тому +1

      @@sosole888 I think I've averaged around 9 to 10 L / 100 km so that's around 24 to 26 mpg. The 2021 model I now have averages around 7 L /100 km so that is around 33 mpg.

    • @sosole888
      @sosole888 3 роки тому

      @@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan Thanks. I only get 20 city, 25 hwy. That's way too low. I'm trying to figure out why. Toyota dealer told me, it is what it is, spec says 27 is only estimate, and average. If that's fact, then it's false advertising.

    Have this car well over a year and we love it. The only issues we have is the front seat mats. They move about too much and at times. They should have secured buttons like the back seat mats. The other issue is the paint. In the first month, I have had 5 dings. I have the pure white color, but not sure if other color paints have the same issue. Seems like the paint is too"soft" or was not hardened long enough...just be aware.

    Nice review. I didn't look at every comment; however, should you do another/updated review per this vehicle, don't forget to mention the key fob features. Also per this specific vehicle an important feature missed was the POWER REAR LIFTGATE via driver cabin button, key fob, and lift gate open/close button. Continued succes.🙌💯

    im glad your enjoying your RAV4. i agree with you about the head rest, im not sure what Toyota was think there. i wonder if the head rest the other trim levels are like that, because i've been in the 2017 Camry as well as checking out the new redesigned 2018 Camry, and Highlander, and those seats were soft and the head rest didn't have that awkward angle.

  • @James-qz1wd
    @James-qz1wd 6 років тому +1

    FYI the design of the front headrests are intended to be ‘whiplash reducing’ - it’s a safety feature. You’ll notice it amongst many other modern vehicles.

    • @healthforall5437
      @healthforall5437 6 років тому

      You have the option to make adjustments with your seat, so the curvature of the front head rests will be more comfortable. Keep in mind this design is meant to lessen the impact of a whiplash.

    I turn the headrests around! I am 5’1” and thin and there is NO WAY I can sit in the car with those headrests. It thrusts my head forward exactly where it shouldn’t - my C5 - the beginning area of a dowagers hump. But unfortunately, blame US safety regs for that. Many cars now have horrible headrests.

    I’m expecting a new redesign 5th generation RAV4 2019 or RAV4 2020 will be a bit sportier and more aggressive, more eco, bigger, nicer, safer, stronger, and higher than this 4th generation .
    The front of the vehicle shall be semi- AUDI Q8 2018,
    and the rear of the vehicle shall be semi- BMW X7 2018 .

    There is no rear air conditioning vents. Can anyone speak to how uncomfortable it is? I live in Austin, Tx and have suffered enough in Toyota LE models (Camry, corolla, Tacoma) of no ac rear to run away. Change my mind if at all.

    The headroom in front seats seems low. It looks like you only have 2-3" over your head and you appear to be 5'3". I'm 6'2" - is there ample headroom? My current older Honda CR-V has 5 inches above my head in front seats.

    The lane departure system on this car is to good, that good I'd turn it off.
    There should be an option for it to only engage over 60mph. As when your driving down country roads etc, overtaking in streets, etc the beeping is annoying.
    It should only come on for motorway driving imo.
    Very nice car Btw, I'm thinking of getting the hybrid one with 200bhp. It's a very nice drive. The CVT gear box noise take some getting use to, but it's linear power deliver is nice, strange but nice.

    After I just wrote my response to quietkey75 my wife and I are going to Subaru to see what it will cost us to get a Crosstek. I own a Tundra and Camry, but please the Rav4 is not a true AWD. I would like to show anyone what I have found out about the Rav4. I believe Toyota should build something they advertise as being AWD as this current system is not good. The Rav4 is great on the highway travels well and at 65 mph it will get about 30 plus mpg, if you do 85-90 it drops to about 24-25mpg. Great for around town. THE RAV4 IS NOT A TRUE AWD!

    The 2017 RAV4 is not a true AWD! I just bought one and found out the hard way! Do your research before you buy!!!

    • @jakepureblood7571
      @jakepureblood7571 6 років тому +1

      I was trading in a 4runner and just went with what the salesman said it was a AWD which technically it is but once the either side of the front of the car is off the ground the front diff will send power to the wheel that is off the ground just like an open differential, the same with the rear. With all 4 tires in the air you can stop any wheel you want, so this is not a true AWD vehicle. After I found this out I found other youtubers that show the same tests as I did but they are real world applications as there is a Russian video shows the problem really well. I contacted the dealership and explained to them what I found out and they no longer wanted to talk with me anymore. I have owned a toyota since I was sixteen and will continue to buy them but once again the Rav4 is not a true AWD. Buy a Subaru if you want a true AWD vehicle. I will switch to the subaru myself but hesitant on the eight grand hit from this Rav4 trade in. I built automatic tranmissions, transfercases, and diffs for 15 years. Please do your own research before you buy.
