Well if you are going to sing a song as powerful as Delio Haidutin you have to really throw down. It is a song that carries millennia of culture and centuries of sadness. A song that represents all of mankind as Voyager I enters interstellar space. It is all or nothing. You went for it and nailed it. As an American and a gaidar, Thank You and BRAVO!!!

I was fortunate to see this played plive in 2017 at the Music Box Theatre - the whole evening was of songs from the golden record, and was beautiful, but then there was this - this at the end, which made listening to anything else for a few days impossible. This song live that night stands as one of my absolute favorite musical experiences. I am very grateful. Thank you.

Beyond magnificence! Am I alone in hearing the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby in this melody -and performance...Professor Sagan was so inspired to include this music on the golden Voyager disk to the stars. Now, as the Earth confronts destruction, this is a piece of humanity we all need. Oh! the lonely people, Oh! the lonely Earth.

This is one of the best renditions I have ever heard. It captures the soul of the song, it simply perfect in every way.
If anyone's wondering what the lyrics mean, they are about Delio, a Bulgarian brigand and sort of a freedom fighter during the Ottoman's rule on the Balkans, threatening the Ottoman governors of Zlatograd/Darıdere not to forcefully convert two aunts of Delio's that live in a nearby village. The threat goes 'dare not convert them (into being Turkish and into Islam by making them wear the black clothing), as when I come down on your village, many mothers and many wives would soon mourn their sons and husbands'. Gyulsyume his lover and a Muslim Ottoman woman was warning Delio 'they are casting a silver bullet just for you Delio', to which he answers 'Gyulsyume my dearest one, the man that will take me down, has not been born yet'.
It's actually a lot longer but this is the part that went into space.

But, here is a translation from wikipedia; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Izlel_ye_Delyo_Haydutin

Blato Zlato doesn't mean Swamp Gold. It is just the word for "a swamp" followed by the word for "gold". It is not grammatically correct and lacks meaning. Just like saying "a rain day" instead of "a rainy day". What you are trying to say in Bulgarian is "BlatNo Zlato". Gets an extra n. I'm shocked your Bulgarian member did not tell you that :)

A pretentious performance. You ruined one of the most beautuful folk song in the World. Violin cannot replace bagpipe and the lead singer does not sing in sufficiently high register.
