Most Perkins 4.108M engines left the factory as nominally around 50HP for pleasure craft or about 40HP for commercial. They are a 1760cc engine which is rated up to something like 3600/4000 rpm for light duty and 3000 rpm for heavy duty. For long life in marine use, you don't want to be running them at 3000+ all the time; they will last forever doing continuous 2000rpm if you keep them well maintained.
