Hi Neil , in this video JT is using a 7-weight fly rod. We favour 7-weights for larger stillwaters and reservoirs, though a 6-weight is also a great choice for smaller waters and summer dry fly fishing.
No need for all them lines lol . Floating intermediate and sinking is all u need, it’s very easy to get carried away in fishing when it comes to buying stuff, It’s all in the head
Hi David, thanks for your comment. For most small stillwater fishing applications we agree that those three line types will get you by in most situations. However fishing with confidence in your approach can really help your catch rate and there are many times, especially on large reservoirs and deeper waters, where having a bigger choice of lines will help get your flies down to the fish quicker. Fishing is all about personal enjoyment though - some like to fish simply and others like to pack everything but the kitchen sink!
