Fantastic. Been away from fly fishing for a few years but getting back in to it now. Could watch Charles for hrs. Perfect casting and a lovely attitude towards the sport. Really enjoyed these videos.
Glynn is a fantastic fly tyer we used to pop in to his shop in Lamberhurst before we fished bewl for any info I’ve met you once Charles in farlowes of pall mall you were signing your little book that had an array of patterns in it & I still have it to this day 🐟🎣
Really good video, Charles articulates everything beautifully.. I think the cruncher disappeared at 21.51 as the loop of fly line from the top eye straightened suspiciously..
Always nice to watch fishing at Haywards Farm as I have spent many happy days there. However in all my time I have fished there the fishery rules were two flies maximum. I can understand Charles is covering fly fishing in general but don’t be surprised if Anglers come to Sportfish and use 3 flies.
@Charles Jardine they do have some hard fighting trout in there. I have no issue with you using 3 flies as I now frequent Pitsford from the bank and am learning how to fish with 3 flies. It is taking some getting used to and I certainly need to improve the smoothness of my casting. I do think Sportfish have it right limiting the number of flies. Its a small lake and you are right cracking sport.
They should give you a Netflix series. What a kind, gracious man. Kids could learn a lot of a person like you. Awesome video. Thank you.

Lovely video by the man himself, what's not to like, charming, informative and delightful, thank you, tight lines
Bless you.... and to you, too....
You could listen to Charles all day. Imagine sharing a day afloat with him. The things you’d learn and the stories that he’d share
Love to do that! send a message on Facebook...lets do it ...before I get too damn old!
A lesson of life. So inspiring. Especially in times where many seems to go for “performance fishing”. Thank you Sir.
Great vid from a great ambassador of the sport . I learnt from his Trout Fisherman articles in the 90s, Legend Sir .
Thank you so much.... One works with what one has...I don't have that much but I just love to share.
A cornucopia of knowledge
What a wonderful character, full of wisdom yet so self deprecating!
When you get to my age ...you have to be honest...light and fun!!! life is too short not to be. Thank you!
ill never forget charles tying that mayfly pattern in the bbc series "tales from the riverbank" and catching a huge brown with it, LEGEND
Every now and again it all comes together ...and works..... not always...but.
Thank you Charles. Yep, I don't normally put a heavy fly on the middle dropper when using the Washing Line technique. I'll give it a go. Cheers,

Wasn't Glyn just a fabulous tier...... Such a character; I do miss those days at Bewl.

Fair point...special dispensation...maybe they will change; I can understand the reasoning given the size and strength of their amazing trout......
