Funny that I see your video as I was doing some looper practice myself. I've been trying to work out an idea I've had for a while so this was inspiring to see how you put some of your compositions together.
Great stuff. I had the ditto but swapped it out for the ditto stereo. They both work equally well on bass but the stereo being a little bigger is a little more stable on soft surfaces whether it be carpet or thicker Velcro on a pedalboard. I often write music with a keyboard so with the ditto stereo I can loop keyboard in stereo. Changing sounds with each layer mixing a bit as I go with the volume control on the keyboard. Let’s me write more on the fly without using my interface and computer where option paralysis becomes a big problem for me.
ah just read the description was going to say this was a bit of a throwback and turns out it's a an old one 👍😁 cool to hear some of the old favourites and a bit of looping experimentation
I think you'd have to adopt some new techniques to make sure timing wasn't an issue. Getting used to hammering the first couple of notes in the beginning of the phrase so you had a hand free to tap the pedal. It would only be for the initial loop though, everything after that would be totally easy to do with the hands instead of the feet.
What about “recording” a silent bed on which you record parts. You would be not have to worry as much about the ends and beginnings of things. You would have to have a click or a drum machine so you know where the edges of the loop are. It wouldn’t be easy, but might be easier to master than getting in and out of the first line of a loop with your hand. May be worth a shot.
Thanks!
SO cool !
Fooking killin’ it bro and so darn musical
Btw I just managed to pickup a used FMeron and Ottobit Jr. At really good prices

You're just on another level Janek. Brilliant 🙂
DUDE!! This is nuts... your brain is broken in the most brilliant of ways. BRAVO!! #PlayMoreBass

Epic
I'd say you're probably the best effect/looper user in the world...
Check out Steve Lawson's music. He's very creative too.
Check out Michael Hoggard from Ulcerate, the things he does with a looper in a live context are horrifying
Man you take looping to a whole new level!
Janek make a video with your Fender Musicmaster 😊 it has killer tone!
Sold that bass some time ago... but you're right, it was a nice sounding instrument.
Great to hear the old baby elephant
yes. !
Thanks Janek! Learning a lot. What are the FX used around the 9:00 mark for the percussion loop??? Are there HX blocks similar?
I'm just playing dead notes using palm muting, but with the harmonizer on to give me a wider sound. I think there's some reverb or delay on also.
Love the effect but I really need a side by side view showing your foot so we can learn when to hit the pedal
What is the name of the main solo phrase, its like up octave effect? That's absolutely great! 🙌🏼 ❤
Also, I really want to know what pedal this is!? 🤘
i'm using a "simple pitch" block in the HX Stomp to get the octave up.
Sounds a lot like Pat Metheny Roland synth. I guess the simple pitch is not just a regular 1+ octave, but has more layers to it@@janekgwizdala
Weird question... my feet don't work. Could you do all of the same stuff you do with the looper if you had to turn it on and off with your hand?
