Hello Bob, I love visiting the country’s that were once behind the "Iron Curtain". Brno must have a beautiful city at the end of the 1800's and today it is being returned to its former glory, Czech is a country on the way up, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride.
Hello Tim! It's really beautiful, an old tram👍. The sound of the control unit and the old DC motors is unique. Best regards from the Mühlviertel, Hans🍻🇦🇹.
It's a lovely old historic city, I can't remember whether or not it was a Sunday, although it could well have been because the city streets were quiet.
Hello to South Suffolk from not so far away West Sussex. Czech is a country on the up, the people are friendly, they love their country and it shows in the pride they have for their old buildings, many of which were in a poor state of repair during the soviet era, today most have been restored to their former glory.
A fabulous trip around Brno, Tim. Thanks for your top class recording. Good to see and hear Andrew is there to keep you in check and is up to his usual tricks! Cheers from Menzies Creek. Puf’n-Pete.
Hello Peter, I hope your UK tour was a success, sorry we didn't get to meet up this time, I'll continue dropping into various Australian destinations on my way to and from New Zealand to visit my son, I'll have to make sure Puffing Billy is one of those stop overs. I always enjoy Czech, lovely people and fascinating trains with the bonus that Health & Safety hasn't put an end to the occasional cab ride. Andrew still says "follow me" to us bunch of decrepit old train spotters then walks ahead at break neck speed, he does put together some wonderful tours. I'm glad you enjoyed the tram trip around Brno. Cheers from a rather dull and wet UK. Tim.

15:01 I've noticed this in earlier parts of this video where the rails double well before the intersection of the street, with the left rails taking the tram one way(straight ahead or to the left) and the right rails directing the tram the other way(straight ahead or to the right). *Curious method!* Or it splits the track into two! Hmmmmm....
Hello Neil, you'll see this on tram tracks in many European cities. I believe the reason is to move the switch blades away from places where they might trap pedestrian’s feet such as zebra crossings, typically close to the actual junction itself. Also traffic braking, accelerating and generally exerting force on the switch blades can cause them to move, so it makes good sense to move them away from the junction.
It also helps when different trams waiting at a signal want to go in different directions. Without it, the second tram would have to wait for the first one to clear the switch before changing it into the other direction.
Los tranvías modernos están equipados con equipos para cambiar los interruptores sin salir de la cabina del conductor; en los tranvías antiguos no existe ese lujo, los interruptores deben cambiarse a mano.
What a beautiful city, Thanks Tim for another great journey cheers Bob.👍👍👍👍🍦🤓

Hello Hans, Brno is a lovely old town and what better way to see it, than from a vintage tram. Have a good weekend, Cheers. Tim 🍻.
