Own this exact model in the slate blue, just bought it in August. We bought it because we keep cars until they fall apart 10/15+ years so we wanted something with all the bells and whistles and it hasn't let us down. I take my coworkers to lunch who are Automotive designers and they're very impressed with the two tone leather, and large IVI display. We really wanted a full size Bronco however test driving one and the huge delays are a let down, It would be an extremely rough ride for long trips with the family, and the Edge is just too comfortable. If Ford made a EV Edge i'd buy it next.
If you take care of it, the Edge shouldn't have a problem getting you a solid 10 - 15 years! The two tone in the Titanium Elite looks great, I'm surprised when people give it hate but to each their own. Think you'd ever look at the Bronco if they start being dealer stocked?
You are the only car reviewer still giving love to the Edge. I own a 2019 SEL which I bought used back in Feb. Almost 2 years of warranty left, 32k miles, panoramic sunroof, heater seats and steering wheel, remote start, ford copilot 360, quiet cabin, amazing ride quality, decent handling, lots of legroom for everyone, immense trunk, incredibly comfortable seats. For what I paid I could've only gotten a low trim, higher mileage rav-4 or cr-v. Newer ones are so expensive, but are so worth it when bought used.
@@CarsWithSteve I’m now at 39k miles and next week the dealership will be replacing torque converter and valve body, covered under warranty. The transmission is jerking and bucking when going up and down speeds of 25mph-40mph. Very unfortunate but the pros exceed the cons. Other than that it’s been super reliable.
Hi Steve , Titanium is nice but I'll stick with my ST line . I like the sporty look and some of the other features. I do wish it had the turn signals in the mirrors but other than that it's got all the options I want. Cheers !
Funny that the ST Line doesn't have turn signals in the mirrors. My 2016 SEL has them, which I would consider to be a lower trim compared to the ST Line. There isn't much change in the 2018+ models. The 3.5L Duratec is gone. Sync 3 was replaced with Sync 4 and there are exterior refresh changes. The rest of the vehicle has been the same since 2015. Kind of glad it's going away as I found it be not much better than the Escape in terms of conveniences and capabilities. I wish Ford put firmer struts into the Edge as there is far too much body roll for my liking.
@@ABRetroCollections The ST line has a firmer ride with the 20" wheels , mine seems fine . Yes I think Ford cheaped out with the signals in the mirrors.
Great review of the updates I have the 2021 titanium 301A. Love it. Got mine at formula Ford too. I think the production clearly depends on how soon they re-tool the oakville facility to produce ev's like the mach e. They will keep producing edges till then. Clearly they are still selling well.
Thanks Mahir, small world! That's what I was thinking about the Edge production. It's looking like December is the cutoff but there's still no official announcement from Ford. Glad you're enjoying your Edge so far. What color did you go with?
@@CarsWithSteve Mine is a Black one, It wasn't my first choice but the 301A titanium was only available in Black in Pickering in all of GTA ! Had to go all the way from Oakville to get it. I bought mine in 2022 at the peak of the chip shortage. I didnt want the 2022 because they got rid of the read heated seats in them due to chip shortage.
Ford Edge Titanium Elite additional features not mentioned: - Rear camera washer system - Auto dimming driver side mirror and rear view mirror. - Full black headliner - Front Camera has 180° view - reclining rear seats - auto driver seat retract after engine is shut off. - wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - Side proximity sensors (as well as back and front) this feature saved my life. Very good review but I wanted to add these points. Yes, of course some features are available in lower models as well.
I cover off about half of those features throughout the video, but it's good to know that people really appreciate all the details I go into while still wanting more! Appreciate this comment! How are you enjoying your Edge so far?
Right? I'm really surprised Ford decided to discontinue it, considering it was selling well. I'm still holding out hope that they bring something like the Chinese Edge-L model to us
I'm driving one right now on as a rental on vacation in Canada and love it. It is so solid. My only concern with Ford is reliability. Years ago I had a Ford focus and it was the worst car I ever owned. So I am a little gun shy about buying another Ford. I am driving the Ford Titanium with AWD. Ford should ditch the explorer and keep this one. I can't believe they would get rid of this car. At home I currently have a 2020 HRV with AWD touring. Only issue has been air conditioning. Otherwise it is highly reliable.
Oy the Ford Focus.. There were definitely quite a few known issues on it unfortunately. The Edge has been extremely reliable for owners and I don't think I've come across an Edge owner yet who hasn't enjoyed their ride. I was thinking the same thing about the future of the Edge.. It still sells well even though Ford hasn't announced yet if they're officially retiring it. It would be a shame to see it go
Steve, Thanks for another great review! I thought we were told that there would be NO 2024 Edge for North America due to the Plant conversion to Electric Hybrid Vehicles and no import from China. That in fact, only the Lincoln Nautilus would be imported. I'm a bit confused. Where is this Vehicle being produced? Thanks again. Sincerely, John Wagner
You're welcome! There's a short run for the 2024 model year - with the order bank looking like it'll close down by the end of December. Still assembled in Oakville for now too! There's no word from Ford yet as to whether they're officially getting rid of the Edge or if the name will get pushed to a future EV but with it being built on the same platform as the Nautilus there's always the chance the international Edge L could find its way here
Thanks Steve. I ordered a Nautilus (2024) as soon as they began taking orders. I then saw the 2024 Edge Line (only available in China), nice looking vehicle but it might as well be on the moon. Without the specific North American Emissions, no way to drive one here. Thanks again, Steve! Cheers.
Great video again Steve, thanks. Do you think all this stupidity with the UAW and consequently all the money the automaker is losing each week may ultimately extend the lifespan of the Edge? Might Ford have difficulty now continuing with their plans in a timely manner for the Oakville Plant where the Edge is built?
Thank you! With the Oakville plant retooling for EVs, I can't see it continue to be assembled past the 2024 model.. If Ford is keeping it around by importing the overseas model in the mean time there could be a next gen EV Edge but still nothing officially announced yet
How do you disable the paddle shifter? I'm in regular drive, but sometime all of a sudden the tacometer comes on act like I'm using the paddles! what am I doing wrong??
There's no way to disable the paddles... if you accidentally pressed either paddle though you can simply press and hold the right paddle to switch back to your regular drive mode
Ford, hope you don’t discontinue this particular model. It’s a good seller; let the other manufacturer Make changes- keep the Ford Edge Titanium model. This a good 5 Seater with some good features. I can feel safe in this vehicle. Keep the model build a 2025 model.
It's sadly looking like they are discontinuing in North America. With the sales numbers it had I'm surprised they chose to get rid of it but I'm hoping they replace it with something better
I hate to see the edges go away my partner has a 2021 titanium same color it's fun to drive. It's has a little computer trouble he took it to a shop and mechanic said the transmission is going out but it doesn't do it all the time.
I kind of like the outside and inside of this vehicle with the gold/brown leather. Though it is due to be renovated, the exterior of the Edge has always had a modern look to it that ages well. That vertical IPad on the console is an absolute deal breaker though. Just like with the Explorer which of course is grossly overpriced.
Almost 30 minutes and next to nothing on how the car drives. How does the car ride, handle? How does it do on big and little bumps on different road surfaces? How is the engine refinement? How does it respond, how does it sound? How is the solidity of the car? How is the wind noise suppression? Talking about lane centering does not cut it.
My channel is generally focused on tech, trim levels etc. The majority of the cars on my channel, up until recently, are dealership units where some are sold and some unsold. They cannot be pushed and cannot be taken for long drives or long periods of time. I show off what I can with what I've got. And there are dozens of other UA-camrs that focus on just the drive if that's what you're really after
The 2024 Edge has had no recalls, the 2023 has 2 (front right headlight and child seat tether welds) and the 2022 has 2 (intake valves for some build dates and distorted rearview)... Being a bit hyperbolic saying recall after recall
I was talking about Ford in general. Read my post again. “Recall after recall from Ford” never said the Edge. You should know how many recalls “FORD” has issued! Thank you and have a nice day!
Check with your dealer.. the tray should have been there. Only thing I can think of is that it was lost/stolen and wasn't caught during delivery look over
We have owned 3 of them and no issues at all.
Always great to hear that! Still have one now?
I have a 2019 Edge Titanium and love it. Would have no issues buying another one in the future.
First time I smiled in weeks seeing the sweet Edge didn't die! Welcome back you handsome ride! :D
Right?! I'm not sure what's happening after the 2024 model yet but there's at least one more official year with it
Hi Steve. Great review.. It helped me make up my mind.. Seeing my Ford dealer on Monday.. Looks like we have decided to purchase a new Edge.
Thanks Harry! The Edge is a great ride. What trim level do you think you're going for?
owned a 2012 edge just purchased the 2024 Titanium Love it....
Nice upgrade! What color did you go for?
Colbolt grey with 2 toned black tan interior
Great setup! I'm a bit fan of the 2 toned interior in the Edge. Hopefully this one treats you well!

Yeah that makes sense. Wonder how the Bronco will change in the next few years if you do pick one up 🤔
So is it a 301a model to have elite package ?
I just discovered your channel Steve and I love the way you take the time to thoroughly explain things.❤️👍

Excellent review as always. Thanks for addressing the dilemma about buying a model that's going to be discontinued!
