I live 30 minutes from there. My neighbor is a Delta 757 pilot and loads of Delta employees live nearby. Flew a DC-6 from Atlanta to Columbus, GA in 1968. And yes, the DC-7s were turbo charged radial engines.
Annoying when someone comes along and pisses all over your enthusiasm. Was thoroughly enjoying that. Thank you for what you did get and I hope it hasn't ruined your last day.
For 5 years I have recommended Jerry to do a show from the ATL Renaissance and the Delta Heritage Museum. It is absolutely ridiculous that he was asked to stop his broadcast toward the end. I will be writing a very strong email to the museum as we have hosted so many airlnier convention shows there over the last 15 years. Our company has donated thousands of dollars over the years too. This museum had nothing to lose by letting BigJet do a show from there. The free advertising and exposure was priceless. Its time to STOP the WOKE crowd and WOKE companies who want to set rules and restricitons and let people like Jerry carry on. Im sorry Jerry...Im sorry Gilly.. this was a complete mess up the museum and the management teams involved. Thank you for the galliant effort. It was well done.
It would've been quite sufficient to say you disagree with the decision of the museum without resorting to trying to blame an entire group of individuals you happen to disagree with and thereby alienate people & decrease the effectiveness of your message.
Just read a very interesting article on Delta DC7B N4887C and her final journey from the Phoenix desert where she had stood for 10 years. Many problems had to be overcome. There was also video of her final flight. I love these vintage planes - many of which I was lucky enough to fly in when growing up. Great video Gerry and cheers from New Zealand.
Hello..Here is a little history on that DC-9-50 if you care to know (you probably all ready know) It was delivered new in 1975 to Austrian Airlines..then in 1985 went to Muse Air...1986 Transtar Airlines...1987 Eastern Airlines...1991 Continental Airlines...1992 Northwest Airlines...2008 Delta Airlines...retired in 2013. Just an FYI...Thanks
Hi Gerry, A great video....thankyou. You commented that the 757 was used for domestic flights..............I remember flying Continental Airlines from Birmingham UK to Newark USA on a 757 a few times in 2009 onward. So the 757 did get used to cross the atlantic...............Great video, all the best Dave.
I flew on The Sprit of Delta at least once, it must have been in the mid-late '90s. From Orlando to Atlanta, it was delayed an hour for maintenance after we boarded. Still a cool experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed that thank you Jerry for showing us around - too bad about the fun Police. You would think it would be a great advertisement for the museum to encourage visitors from all over the world to go there........ appreciate your efforts and loved what we saw :-)
Hello again..No DC-7 had Turbo-prop engines..They are Wright turbo-compound radial engines. Also most of Northwest aircraft ended in US (like that 747) but there were some that did end with NW.
It looked like just a typical corporate infighting. Museum staff gave the go ahead but the marketing department had more ego and wanted to show they run the show at the Museum. Great footage filmed by Jerry though!
The picture that you thought they were sitting and looking was a TV. It was on Western Airlines. Western was founded in 1926 till Delta bought them out. Was the best, but then my father worked for them.
That DELTA AIR SERVICE is a Curtiss-Wright Travel Air 6-B manufactured in 1931.It's current registration is valid until 8-31-2024.Engine model is a 975E-1.
Pity they didn't keep a DC8 and a CV880 for the collection ...I guess they had to pick and choose what they kept and to be honest, airlines couldn't get rid of the CV880 quick enough LOL. A nice view of the JT3D cascade reversers there. The bypass ratio on those was around 1.5:1.
I live in Atlanta and was very surprised at Delta for stopping Live broadcast. I'm sure they thought by Jerry showing everything, nobody would show up to visit the museum. However it's vice versa by showing and go on live on earth more people are attracted to actually visit the museum. Delta you blow it 👎
Wow my dear friend! What a gift you have given us with this video💙🛫✈🛫😊 What a visual feast we have had from that detailed tour starting from the runway to inside the hangar / museum! 💙 and that look at the scale model room left me crazy and impressed by what those people from Delta have there and not only to exhibit but to acquire!🛫🛫✈✈👍🏻😊 excellent video bro! thank you for doing it with your extraordinary and very personal enthusiasm😄 Regards👋🏼😎✌🏼
That's why I will never fly Delta "we got a call from our marketing and you have to stop" They're getting fee publicity and they blew it! They should stick the whole of their marketing department in that museum as an example of 21st century practice in how not to treat the media.
We did and we were given permission and the go-ahead to film the live tour. Then the same woman that gave permission rudely interrupted the live stream and asked we stop, so we did. Not a good look on their end. We did everything right. This only reflects badly on them
Sounds like the manager who gave permission was overruled, she did say ‘we have to stop’ acknowledging her involvement. Not a great look for Delta though 😬
What's going on Jerry, Gilly. after this video has been shown no others have been uploaded. Jerry said that he would be doing a Members only Aircraft Spotting one after the Delta Museum one. I have not received any notifications or updates whatsoever. Jerry, Gilly what's happened? As a long time member I was looking forward to the next Videos from Atlanta but nothing?????
Sorry you missed it Keith, we did do another show for members (First Class & Super Class) on Sunday after the Museum, notifications were sent out as normal. You should be able to see all the shows under the Membership tab.
brilliant video jerry i will watch the next stream i keep forgetting to join im not joined because i dont have money so i always watch on the members only because im on yt
WELCOME TO THE STATES! 🇺🇸 American Airlines has a great one in the DALLAS/FT WORTH area. I flew for them for years.
The best aviation videos on UA-cam.
Second to none,!!

757 is such a good looking plane. Just looks “right”.

I have emailed the Director. Disgraceful.
This is typical backwards museum behavior, thinking a livestream will harm their visitor numbers when in reality is the opposite.
It would've been quite sufficient to say you disagree with the decision of the museum without resorting to trying to blame an entire group of individuals you happen to disagree with and thereby alienate people & decrease the effectiveness of your message.
Well said a disgrace from the management Bob

Beautiful Jet Jerry. Last plane I flew out of Atlanta on was a DC9. I flew on a Delta widebody L1011 to Los Angeles in 1998.
riding the trains in Atlanta is also really fun. Huge airport!
Great Tour Jerry! Too bad Delta blew a good marketing opportunity by asking you to leave! Glad you got all of the place filmed before they did!
Brilliant program full of interesting things thanks Jerry and Gilly for putting it on
Great video - very interesting! I loved how Jerry couldnt hide his excitement when he got to the model room!

Thanks for the Tour Jerry amazing to see
Just so interesting 🤔 no worries about the staff stopping the filming. Their loss of public relations so more fool them.
Magical Mystery Tour. Amazing coverage Jerry. What a place.Pity they got precious about it. The little twerps with the clipboards strike again.
Glad they preserved the B747-400
Awesome Musuem Delta gave done a gteat job oh and the DC7B had WrightTurbo Compounds
More than be said for my typing! sorry guys
Simply awesome!

Gutted I missed this live
Your not far from me. I'm in south carolina. About 3 hours from Atlanta. Welcome
Wow a 37year old delta 757, about the same age as those jet2 757s flying at the moment haha
Hello from Nashville
Thoroughly enjoyed that thank you Jerry for showing us around - too bad about the fun Police. You would think it would be a great advertisement for the museum to encourage visitors from all over the world to go there........ appreciate your efforts and loved what we saw :-)

Wonderful show Jerry!!! Now I want to head to Atlanta…lol
WOW!!!!!! The airplane model area is .... speechless!!!
It looked like just a typical corporate infighting. Museum staff gave the go ahead but the marketing department had more ego and wanted to show they run the show at the Museum. Great footage filmed by Jerry though!
Why did you have to leave ?
I mean it's not Area 51 ....
It's just a museum.
Nonsense
Its probably because he's commercial visitor.

Jerry very bad on there part to stop you filming good PR on your show they should be pleased you are showing the world there museum
Bob
N102DA Spirit of Delta was purchased by the Delta employees. My dad has a part of the red ribbon draped over her when she was presented in ATL.
👍 SUPER Jerry ❤😎

Dang if I knew were in Atlanta I would invited you out for a beer. How long are you in town for?
That's why I will never fly Delta "we got a call from our marketing and you have to stop" They're getting fee publicity and they blew it! They should stick the whole of their marketing department in that museum as an example of 21st century practice in how not to treat the media.
They maybe didn’t get the full rundown. Who knows.
Hey! My mom is "Mother Malone". Ask about her.
Delta's customer service and PR completely ruin a fairly decent hard product
Nice tour, thank you for sharing. Why didn't you ask for permission before filming?
He did. The manager originally said yes.
We did and we were given permission and the go-ahead to film the live tour. Then the same woman that gave permission rudely interrupted the live stream and asked we stop, so we did. Not a good look on their end. We did everything right. This only reflects badly on them
@@BigJetTV Very strange then of them.
Sounds like the manager who gave permission was overruled, she did say ‘we have to stop’ acknowledging her involvement. Not a great look for Delta though 😬
@@SquirrelRIP Yeah well its looking disorganised. Still, a nice tour from Big Jet TV.

Karen Alert lol
Typical delta and typical Karen’s don’t like people filming smh
What's with that awful pop music blaring in the museum?
I thought that, really annoying and detracted from the experience of being at a very interesting museum.
