Dear are nearly all muscle and very very strong This was actually very brave of this couple. To be out on a frozen lake on fairly thin ice tempting this rescue, I applaud all who are concerned for all animal life!

How do you know, have you ever cleaned one? Deer have muscles pretty much the same as a cow.
I cant even begin to understand how scared she must have been, only to realize they were there to help her. So glad they were able to get her to land safely

Frightened deer can be quite dangerous, so I applaud their actions and success. Given that she was able to take her time to get oriented, I'd say that she lost her fear of them pretty quickly, or at least was able to temper it. Either way, that shows up well on the nature of these kind people.

I like this pair's dynamic! Immediately after she says "Just let him get used to us.", he corrects her and says "It's a little girl."; she kept on giving moral support to the deer (and hugged her too!); he didn't stop trying to rescue her even if he seemed to be getting tired :')

She was probably to exhausted to run when reaching land, most likely the same reason you were able to catch up to her on the ice. Who knows how long she’s been out there struggling and burning energy. But she was definitely still alert and aware of her surroundings.

Not an easy rescue! You Both did great! I’m sure the deer was at the point of exhaustion and fear when you finally came out to help!
Rescued animals know goodness and kindness. We adopted a cat at 6 months old, who, our vet who rescued her said, had been owned and tossed out in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. He knew this because she came right up to him. Stray's won't usually do that. She was in really bad shape. They nursed her ailments, we took her home and spoiled her rotten. She knew what she'd been saved from: being on the streets, and having to fight to survive after being in a home. This made her adorably sassy, and we became absolutely devoted to each other until cancer took her 17 years later. I still miss her. It took me 16 year's until I was able to accept a new love into my life. Babette, a Siamese mix who is now four. I love her as much, but differently than my late cat daughter. They KNOW how loved they are, and love us right back ❤️🥰🐈

God Bless you! It is sooo difficult to handle a deer; catching them is only half the battle and once you have them, they start tap dancing all over you or your truck - or your boat! Some calm down but that's only from exhaustion or very bad pain.
It's funny, you really want to help them, and then you think about all the kicks to come your way! But if you're an animal lover, you don't care and just prepare for battle! So hats off to you; all you had to do battle was a first mate and a rope! She seemed to know that too because she didn't run away when released. She even looked back at you to say 'thank you' and I second that!🦌😗🌻
