The bridge - "What if I'm standing in your closet trying to talk to you ..." as a Dad myself, i nearly cried at that line. Taylor is one of the best songwriters I've ever heard. She is such a wonderful musician. She is so very much more than the "Queen of Pop", that's almost an insult ..

This is such an amazing song, it's hard to not cry while listening to it. Taylor is such an amazing person for being able to write this song and perform it, all my prayers go out to those who have loved ones with cancer or anyone who lost a loved one to cancer. May Ronan rest in peace.

Taylor only have performed this song live twice, first at Stand Up To Cancer charity show back in 2012 and the second was in this concert in Glendale in 2015, with Ronan's family in attendance. Right before the concert, Taylor met the family in the backstage.
ronans mum is supposedly coming to the eras tour, the show in philadelphia on the 12th of may (ronans 16th birthday) so taylor might sing it then for a surprise song

You can tell that Taylor writes and sings from her heart cause it hits you in your heart
As a dad of a current cancer survivor, this song hits hard. It's just short of 7 years of his diagnosis, and 4.5 years of No Evidence of Disease(NED) and six months until he is declared in remission(80% of kids with Wilms Tumor make it to 5 years). I have seen far too many parents go through what Ronan's mom went through. Sadly only about 4% (might be up to 5% now) of monies generated to cancer research go to children's cancer research. I hope this interest in this song will help raise further awareness of this massive shortfall in research dollars.
this is one of those Taylor songs that feels so personal that I just don't listen to it, I've listened it a couple of times and that's it, I just can't, it's heart wrenching.
This and Clapton's Tears in Heaven are the saddest songs ever made, but they're both great songs.

I know that they were just being supportive but it still kind of annoyed me when the crowd clapped and screamed while Taylor talked about childhood cancer(before you call me over dramatic I know that they were just excited but it still didn’t feel right…)
