Is your Foundation a light or standard? What is your barrel length and contour? Are you happy with the balance point ? Would love to see a breakdown of your setup.
You know, you make a valid point… I need to do a full on gear breakdown on here. To answer your question, this thing is HEAVY! It’s a 22” MTU contour. I added a bunch of brass weights inside the fore-end under the barrel and it balances with a little encouragement. It could probably have some material taken out of the butt, or it could use a few more ounces on out on the end to really shift that point an inch or so forward of the mag well for me to be really happy with it. The Foundations are really meant for centerfire rifles, but I’m happy they made an inlet for a Vudoo.
Awesome video I'm thinking of trying nrl22 this year. There's a range near me that dose it. I'm a bench and prone long range shooter. So it would definitely be different than what I'm used to. I love rimfire and it looks like a blast 🎯.
@@NolimitLongRange-j4c the fundamentals you’ve developed from BR and prone shooting will definitely be useful in precision rimfire. But there’s a whole other set of fundamentals that you’ll develop in this arena. Once you master those, you’ll be unstoppable!
@22LimaRomeo Hopefully !. I noticed everyone says you need a good bag for the obstacles. Could you recommend a bag?. I don't have a clue what equipment is involved with nrl22.
@@slevrets1, Harris has been fantastic for YEARS of competing! @22LimaRomeo man I can only imagine the time it takes to make these videos with the recording, setup, and editing! I know it's a TON of work what you're doing. I don't think anyone would mind seeing some adds, especially if it helps out.
Great walk through as always. At your range do you start the match with freshly painted targets and as the match continues shooters/squads loose the "advantage" of clean target? This a been a on going discussion at our range.
Appreciate the question. Yes typically we start every match with freshly painted targets. Is it an advantage? If so, how much of an advantage is it really? In my experience, going first on a stage is typically a disadvantage, so one could argue that the disadvantage of going first, counters the advantage of a clean target. But, these things will always be a debate for the hyper competitive. I'm just out there to shoot a good match and have as much fun as I can while I have the wherewithal to compete. Thanks for all your support!
@@22LimaRomeo Thanks, that makes a lot of sense and I'll pass it along to those that brought it up and we"ll carry on as usual. I feel the the same, I,m there shoot and have a good time and not to worry about silly stuff.
Whats up shooter! Gamey Gamester here, You know me! So for the Pyramid, It says "Each position must involve a change in rungs. Positions may not be repeated" So could I do 4th Rung Right, 3rd Rung Right, 4th Rung Left, 3rd Rung left? Fair Game Fair Shame? What do you think?
@lol! This one is pretty mild compared to some that we’ve recently had. D.O.P.E. Cards can be a huge help! I must admit, most of these stages there is a bit of a pattern to the target sequence except for stage 4.. that one in particular will be challenging because of the sequence.
Since you're the "official walkthrough" channel you could be more explicit in the videos when you're picking a way to tackle a stage that's your preference and not due to the cof restrictions? For example in this video stage 4, I know you mentioned we have a lot of freedom in the video and you confirmed an alternative way in the comments. However, due to the ambiguity of what constituted a "position" and because this is the "official channel" in a recent match we were required to use four separate rungs because "that's the way the official channel did it", regardless of other channels demonstrating alternatives.
You bring up a good point! Would adding some sort of 'disclaimer' be sufficient? I'm not sure how to else to convey that what I'm doing in a video; is simply the way that I feel is best for -me-. I certainly understand that there are alternative ways that this, and other stages can be approached. Usually when I'm filming the COF I'm making a sincere attempt to capture what the intent is for that particular stage. That being said, if you encounter this scenario in the future.. reach out to one of us who sit on the advisory team, we're all absolutely qualified to help clear up any confusion for someone regarding what is acceptable for any particular stage.
@22LimaRomeo i think it's worth trying and shouldn't be too much work for you. There's definitely been confusion before at matches with cof wording, though not to this extreme. I do think long term if nrl22 had a common or "standard" way for each cof to consistently communicate intentions it would alleviate much of the issues I've observed. Thanks for the offer and what you do.
