SG can be so proud of our one n only Spore Cowboy, Mathew n the Madarins. No one in Sg can sing country n western like Mathew Tan! Very established n award winning performers, pity theres no platform now for them to cont to entertain us but we can listen to their songs on youtube. Thank you, Mathew n the Mandarins, Sg's own Country boy!
Myself & my wife used to fly from Indonesia every few months in the late 70's to see Matthew & the Mandarins at Shangri-la; great memories of your great Country group .. thank you Matthew Tan 😊
Really proud of Matthew Tan. My siaters n i used to follow him wherever he goes in S'pore, the hotels. Such a beautiful deep voice for country n western songs. Still has a v strong voice. Those days we always requested Matthew to sing the the Rugged Cross. He was good at Gospels too. May God bless Matthew with good health, Peace n Joy in his senior years.
Well done Matthew! 👍❤️ greetings from Melbourne! Met you time and again at the Green Fairways golf driving range in 1990! 👍 thanks for the cassette tape you gave me too! 🤩🙏
This is my favorite country and western song “Singapore Cowboy,” that I would love to listen to by Matthew Tan and the Mandarins. There were on 2 occasions that I got to chat with him, once at a hotel where he was performing with his band. And I always request this song Singapore Cowboy. Mathew Tan is humble and approachable with no airs that he is a star singer. His voice suits the country and western style and has done Singapore proud. Like what he mentioned in his talk, these days the music scene is not so happening unlike the good old disco era days along Orchard belt. Times changed and only those aged 50s to 70s could recall the excitement of those wonderful disco nights and music spots in Orchard and the radio and rediffusion plus, maybe TV musical programmes on the air. Well done Matthew and Belinda for hosting this for the memories. Love, Eddie Soh.
Thank you Mathew for bringing back the good old days. It was a privilege to have met you when you were performing at Shangri-la Lounge. And for doing the Anchor Beer jingle.
Congrats, Matthew and the Mandarins. Is there a video where you performed "live" at the Tulsa, Oklahoma? I am sure your Singapore fans/friends would love to watch.
Oh how I love the shirt that Matthew wore. Anyone who knows where to buy it, please ‘shout’! But the host, Belinda (?) cannot lah - over drama to the extend of being irritating!

whilst i realise it may not be easy to do but if the invited artistes were to sing n play live that would have been great as compared to lipsync 👍

He looks a little alikes Tan Cheng Bok.😂
