It's amazing how peter has the ability to start an entire parade in under 30 seconds. Just like how he got the entire football field to spell Shipoopi.
Any time that anyone says that Family Guy is stupid and lowbrow humor I reference how they actually do the whole song for Shipoopi, and Somewhere That’s Green Seth has somehow been able to penetrate into the straight American dude culture and bright musical theater with him. People who say they would never sit through a musical now know more directly from Family Guy
This lives rent free in my head. I don’t really know why. I will randomly sing this to myself throughout the day sometimes. I’ve never been to Massachusetts.
I’m from Nova Scotia. Love Massachusetts. Halifax is a mini Boston. And a million times thank you for the aid you sent when our city blew up. We love sending you a Christmas tree every year, it’s the least we can do.
As a resident of Massachusetts I can confirm, on a daily basis we pick up horseshoe crab, ride hot air balloon, eat hot dog, horse chariot, lobster roll, and sing song with British soldier
me and my relatives used to sing this at family gatherings in memory of my grandpa who was a firefighter for boston after he passed away. i still get goosebumps from hearing this
LYRICS: The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of what’s old and what’s new, The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of the red, white and blue. The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of what’s old and what’s new, The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of the red, white and blue. The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of what’s old and what’s new, The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America, The spirit of the red, white and blue.
Well, the whole thing is sort of a Disney Parody. But it actually Turned out an Amazing Catchy Song. I’m not even American, and it makes me feel Proud.
Here. I am so proud to live in Massachusetts and New England in general. Hey, New England fans, what did you think of Super Bowl 51? Pretty damn exciting, right? #TB12 is the GOAT.
Well as others, including my mom, were saying it was over after the pick 6, I quietly knew that was not the case. Of course I still expected us to lose, but I know we would make it a game...and we all know what happened. Obviously the greatest Super Bowl comeback ever, but hard to say the best Super Bowl ever. After all, XLIX just 2 years ago was incredibly tense and entertaining. Certainly up there with the 2004 ALCS and, as my Bruins fan bias kicks in, Game 7 of the 2013 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals and probably some others I'm forgetting as one of the top 5 Boston sports events ever.
Crazycake0420 me too! I got so Freakin' excited the first time I saw this. It makes our state seem more important. Hell, if it's on Family Guy, it must be important 😂
I am in Massachusetts and saw the license plate said "The spirit of America". I couldn't figure out why that sounded familiar. Oh family guy and your subliminal messages lol.
I used to have to go to Massachusetts to visit family. I HATED going by car (because being from Kentucky it could easily be a 24 drive.) But... now that I don't go anymore and although it was for a short time I do miss it (not the car ride though that can kick rocks.) I loved the harbor and boardwalk vibe, the history, and I especially miss having family live so close to beaches and the ocean (even if it was super cold). It was completely different from the mountainous cabin and country vibe I grew up in. I hope I can go back someday without having to rush from one end of Logan airport to the other to catch a plane. It really is a nice place and i want to finally see a lighthouse in person.
@@thecrimsonwrath1337 Well beach wise I strongly recommend Florida's (because they're much warmer.) But if you can handle the cold and want to take in some culture and history Massachusetts is your go to place. (Plus Boston has one of the best aquariums I've ever been to and their science museum is pretty cool too.) So to be clear if you want strictly the beach Florida, if you want culture, history, and a beach then visit New England.
Family Guy is that show where i swear my dad writes jokes for it. Nobody but Seth randomly remembers the 1987 Massachusetts tourism ad, and I love him for it
0:00 - SixFlags 0:02 - Horseshoe Crabs 0:11 - Martha's Vineyard 0:13 - Boston? 0:15 - Cape Cod (National Seashore?) As someone from Connecticut, this is everything you see or hear about when it comes to Massachusetts. I've been to/seen most of this stuff myself.
I think the first montage is taken shot-for-shot from the actual commercial the tourist commission board had run on local Boston stations in the 80's. So while there are more "Boston"-centric things Family Guy could have done here, the whole point was to allude to the commercial, which was one of their famous obscure "deep cuts" since it had not played on TV (or anywhere) in 30 years.
I woke up Yesterday with this song playing on repeat in my head, it's been driving me nuts for the let 36 hours. I had to come here and listen to it, gonna let it play on repeat, loud until I can't take it any more. Usually that helps. 🤯🤷😜🤪😬😬😰😨😫😵😩🤤🥴🥴😓
I love Massachusetts. So much history in one state.. It's where the Revolution started, the tourism is off the charts and the fall season is spectacular... Only complaint, unlike other Republican states, Mass has pretty unfair taxes and high costs of living.. 😕
I remembered this song today after my coworker told me a story from when he lived in Massachusetts. A disgruntled customer at a Whole Foods was throwing chili powder at people.

My younger brother sang this once at school and got into trouble...
MsGrizabella why did your brother get in trouble?
Because authority figures suck
MsGrizabella so basically your brother got in trouble for no reason. That sucks
Yeah, it was terrible. Maybe he inadvertently interrupted a class activity, but still... He was probably eleven if that...
MsGrizabella yeah. Teachers need to understand that kids will be kids and not take everything so seriously 😒

As a non American, please tell me. Is Massachusetts as great as this song pictures it? I mean, you guys have a world class university there too.
In case anyone failed to mention it, this song was used by the Massachusetts tourist board in commercials back in the 1980's.
Even at 0.75x speed it still sounds amazing
loly ageeed Because I’m listening to it at that speed
If you play it at 0.5 it sounds like a rock ballad of some sorts really neat style
