If there is such a thing as "CAR PORN" this big girl would definitely be Centrefold in many car magazines. I loved the transformation from stocker to rocker. And the whole execution of bringing this girl back to life is totally amazing. Love the two tone colour scheme and the attention to detail is extremely professional. Don't know why there are some people writing negative comments here, if you don't approve keep scrolling elsewhere. Great overall video!!
This is an incredibly outstanding build! No 58 Pontiac ever looked anywhere near this good! Appreciate that someone took this one on. But I myself would have taken the opportunity to do a set of those amazing Pontiac 6 lug wheels for this car.
Normally I would not watch a video that just has photos and music, but I really wanted to see what you did with this car so I watched until the end. The car is magnificent! I prefer to listen to the craftsmen and banter between them during the build and especially seeing and hearing it run and drive after completion. Perhaps you will consider that in future videos?
Our family had a used 59 Pontiac Catalina Safari Wagon from about 64 to 68. The color is what i loved the most. It was an Aquamarine. What a gorgeous color.
Love the car, I would have gone slightly more conservative on the mods but 100% can appreciate the skill, attention to detail and hard work that went into this build.
Mine was a a four door sedan, silver, with the 370 cube, Tri-power (3, 2’s) and positraction, 3.23 rear end, tinted glass. Amazing well balanced car. I always said mine had dual racing ashtrays which it did. The fuel door behind the driver side backup light was cool. Beautiful body work.
beautifully done. 1958 GM's are among my favs, esp the wagons. so when a shop says watch us take a rare, complete, rust free, irreplaceable survivor, and then we'll cut it up for some trendy restomod, it makes me nuts. the epitome of this was that recent Eldorado Brougham cut up into a funky wagon for the Ridler
I wish they restored the wagon to show room finish. If the wagon is/was rare as this one the old girl needed some help not a hot rod. This is my ho no hate please.
I'm old enough to remember seeing lots of cars from this era all over the highways!! If this were my car here, I'd paint it Electric Metallic Blue!! I would make a number of changes, such as high-back seats and modern seat-belts/restraints!! Definitely one of those classic Racing-Style Steering Wheels. I'm assuming it's got an Automatic Tranny...put the selector on the floor!! Since I'd do away with that bench seat and put bucket seats in, no problemo!!
Beautiful car I have a real soft spot for big American station wagons, The only thing I'd of done differently is to of had the engine bay the same rad as the other highlights but in a Matt finish, But that's just me I'm sure the owner is over the moon with it, What a fantastic job you guys did bravo 👏😎.
Very nice work as always.. whoever selected the music, send them down the road.. I wish you guys did longer videos like this more often... thx for sharing..
I'm generally amazed by how few of these 50's station wagons are still around. As I recall, they never were exactly plentiful, but they were around. And of course there were no minivans back then, so the only alternative for a big family was maybe an International Travelall, and probably most people found them too truck-like and they weren't a "big-3" brand. Maybe the same "big family" that sat in the back seats beat the crap out of these things by the time every kid learned to drive in one. And maybe there weren't Buick and Pontiac wagons in numbers, but I recall plenty of Chevy Parkwood and Brookwoods. You really don't see too many in the resto queue. This one looked like it was in much better shape than most, body-wise.
@@JackSquat54 In 1958 it would have been a 370, - the 326 came out in 1964 to comply with GM's initial cap of engines no larger than 330 for the A body cars. Of course, in short order Pontiac would release the GTO with a 389 and we know what happened after that!
Great job! "Barn find" to full frame off restoration. But I disagree with this project being a resto-mod instead of a full back-to-factory spec resto. I love the copper color and would have preferred to see it as it looked in 1958 at the Pontiac dealer. I was in the national Pontiac Club POCI for 25 years so I have owned a lot of Pontiacs and love them. I have had three 1955 Pontiac, two 1957 Pontiacs, two 1960 Pontiacs, two 1962 Pontiacs, one 1968 Pontiac LeMans, one 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ with 428-V8, a 1975 Grand Am coupe, 1977 Firebird Esprit, 1979 Firebird Formula, and two 2002 Firebirds, one of which I still have as my daily driver.
During the 70s and 80s a black one like this was parked next to what looked like a haunted house when we were young even back then a 58 Pontiac waggon was a rare site
You went with the "badass black" instead of the original copper metallic color. And the other color for the sweepspear, what do you call that? Looks good as far as resto-mods go, which are built to please the owner.
Handbuilt cars...have had several chemical dipped cars cause problems later after they are finished! Like the strip process, but im reluctant to have it done again! What do you do for the seems, overlaps etc?
I absolutely hate what you did to this rare car . Restore it dont put your own butchered taste on the car . Go find a Nova or Chevell to do that to . Leave the classics alone
Why the hell would you lower a classic car, or any other car, for that matter?? It ruins the stance. Once you lower a car, everything, from the bottom of the tires, to the top of the roof, begins to go wrong & downhill from there, causing so many problems that it eventually makes the car unusable. You ruined it. If you want to have a ride that low to the ground…go on out & buy yourself a skateboard…
I'm glad you made this video it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, $34k monthly and a good daughter full of love
My advice to everyone is that saving is great but investment is the key to be successful imagine investing $15,000 and received $472,700.

You guys are expert craftsmen. Kudos for a magnificent job.🙏👊
WOW stunning!
The wheels and stance are perfect
~ it's a retro-futuristic ROCKET SHIP !!!
Bel lavoro e bel macchinone!

Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship gorgeous results ❤🇦🇺🦘🪃🏔🎄🎅🧑🎄🤶🎄
A piece of art. Beautiful colour 😎👍
From zero to hero , god bless those hands . Another rare classic car been saved.❤
Amazing work!!!!!🎉
Thank you for keeping the Pontiac motor. My friend restored/resto modded his 71 Firebird and then was afraid to drive it.
Gorgeous build, and tastefully done
Our family had a used 59 Pontiac Catalina Safari Wagon from about 64 to 68. The color is what i loved the most. It was an Aquamarine. What a gorgeous color.
thanks for posting - awesome.
Great job your hours reflect perfection
That's a build that is too nice. Nice for all of us.
Love This Car. I Built a 1956 Nomad station Wagon Before I Went To Viet Nam In 1968. Great Job.
My fathers Uncle left him a 58' Chieftain. I was able to drive it In while I was in high school.
Outstanding work gentlemen...This car is right up there with the twin cam Gran Prix or the fast back Riv...Beautiful!
Fantastic craftsmanship. Shame about the wheels and lowered suspension. The bodywork and interior are spectacular.
Love the car, I would have gone slightly more conservative on the mods but 100% can appreciate the skill, attention to detail and hard work that went into this build.
Amazing transformation. These cars never looked that good when they were new in the showroom. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work, would have loved to hear what it sounded like.

Good Job! Greetings&Best Wishes from Germany! ❤👍👍👍!!
Beautiful . I wish it was mine , foose quality , thanx for the inspiration , always loved station wagons , childhood memories ❤
This is the most beautiful rebuild I have watched on UA-cam. You guys are amazing.
I would love to have wagon like that for family road trips!
Beautiful rebuild 😊😊😊

Looks so good, I’d hate to let anyone drive it!!!
Beter than original factory built. Thank you for all magic hands!!
You know it's good body work when they choose high gloss black and it looks like a damn mirror.
Beautiful beautiful! Wheels come up short though. But I would take it! Lol!!
Vintage Halibrands would help a bunch…
All I can say is WOW!
All I can say is..... I feel what You are Doing!!!😊❤

very, very nice.love to see the old ones come back.thank you
Great 15 minute video!
"If I rob a bank I won't tell anyone. But there'll be signs"
My Dad had a 58 Bonneville coupe - brings back a lot of memories !
Beautiful job and i love wagon's and i love "58's.
It's amazing🎉
It is Gorgeous eh??
Very nice work as always.. whoever selected the music, send them down the road.. I wish you guys did longer videos like this more often... thx for sharing..
Beautiful...Would have liked to hear her run though!!
Wow!, that’s it’s a masterpiece!
This shop is 2nd to none!
Fantastic car! Fantastic job!
Beautiful restoration. IMO the wheels should have been new old style
Beautiful work ❤
If it wasn’t for the tires, the color, and the lowered suspension, this would be a awesome job!
Just awesome..

Nice build but on rare cars like these id much rather see it restored to factory spec.
All of the cars of this era, late fifties to early sixties looked like custom built cars to me as a kid.
That wagon will bring big money.
At 34:20,did you tried to fit a Bel Air instrument panel in it?
I noticed that too. I think they put a pic in there from another build.
Great 👍
Wow! What many people will not realize is that the engine is not a '70's era 455 - it is the original to that car engine thoroughly modernized.
Correct me if i am wrong. I think it was a 326 c.i. Pontiac smallblock.
@@JackSquat54 In 1958 it would have been a 370, - the 326 came out in 1964 to comply with GM's initial cap of engines no larger than 330 for the A body cars. Of course, in short order Pontiac would release the GTO with a 389 and we know what happened after that!
BEAUTIFUL,TOP.
Excellent!!!
Harika bir çalışma kutlarım
And some day, I am gonna buy that Moner Liser paintin and make it all shiny!
WOW!!
Fantastic
After all that beautiful body work, too bad about those wheels - they are so out of place on a fifties-era car.
Beautiful except for those hideous wheels! Totally out of character for the car. Something a bit more fifties looking seems more in style with the car
This is not a restoration, a restoration is bringing the car back to what it was. This is nothing more but a fantasy.

What a true masterpiece.
At 37.32 the dash board you are showing is that of a 55 Chevy, What Gives?
We see it, but we would like the hear it too !
A really great job , but this wheels...😢
During the 70s and 80s a black one like this was parked next to what looked like a haunted house when we were young even back then a 58 Pontiac waggon was a rare site
Nice Restomod
Hermoso
WOW” what a transformation” absolutely Beautiful 🥰👍
Amazing build, but you left the x frame ? Not a fan of the black, but who am I. Overall beautiful car.
Whatever it is that is not a restoration!
Yeah it's a restomod well done though not to crazy kept it a four door looks somewhat stock👍🏼

12.24.2024 - very nice 👍
The metallic peat wagon queen family truckster in the background.
Restoration implies returning it to its former glory, not butchering it into a outlandish hotrod. Disappointing what you did to a piece of history.
Beautiful car wrong wheels
No LS crate swap… hallelujah!
I absolutely hate what you did to this rare car . Restore it dont put your own butchered taste on the car . Go find a Nova or Chevell to do that to . Leave the classics alone
Oh 🐂 Bull 💩 Crap.
Geeeze! You can’t please ‘em all, can you?
Nice build, but wrong paint.
It should have been the two-tone factory green paint from 1958 Pontiac Chieftain 😮
S T U N N I N G !!!!!
Such an incredible car & build!! This video sure made me miss my 58 Pontiac Pathfinder Sedan Delivery that was stolen from me 25 years ago...
What a shame, looked like an amazingly clean original car and now it’s a tacky piece of trash
Rubber bands for tires and lowered why? 😞 $ 80,000 in labor, parts , the customer has a beautiful car.
👍
There's a 2 door that was done pretty much the same not to long ago wasn't there.
How much would this wagon sell for AFTER restoration?
