I enjoyed this so much I watched it a second time! I'd love to go to the Bernese Oberland and get to the Konkordiaplatz. If my health & fitness is in order by summer I'm heading to the Valais Alps though.

Thank you for your comment it's very motivating for us. This adventure was the hardest for us, we had everything thrown at us: superb weather, snowstorm and crevasses, white-out. It was a great survival lesson, the mountains tested our limits.
The mindset leading to statements like "We saw the first crevasses but we don't want to linked up with a rope because we're in a hurry" is -mildly put-questionable.
Thank you for your feedback, you are right, but it was a real decision taken and the goal of my videos is to show what really happened. We should choose between walking in the dark on the glacier or take the risk, we knew the danger. Today maybe we would not take the same decision.
@@berglandvideoNever too Late has climbed many mountains and has always returned safely. Not because there are angels floating in the air protecting him, but because he's good. Yes, he makes mistakes. Even famous alpinists make ridiculous mistakes. Anderl Heckmair, for example, climbed the Matterhorn with his city clothes, in normal shoes, just because he was nearby and suddenly felt like climbing (see his biography). That's stupid, yet, he's one of the biggest legends in the history of alpinism. If I see your achievements on your channel, it seems to me that you're far from being in a position to look down on Never too Late. And if I see how condescending you are, I would never want to subscribe to your channel. It's easy to tell that you don't want to help, you just want to be haughty for the sake of being haughty.
@@brinckau First and foremost, a word to the wise: before jumping to conclusions about qualifications of other people based on their channel content, at the very least show us some credentials of your own. You don't have a single achievement to show on your own empty channel, which makes your ad hominem accusations look quite silly (and frankly unnecessary) in this context. With that said, here are two bits of insight for you about me personally. Firstly, I did the exact same route from Jungfraujoch via Grünhornlücke on ski followed by a successful ascent of Finsteraarhorn with a mountain guide back in the winter of 1989, so I would know a thing or two about the characteristics of the region and the dangers of crossing those particular glaciers and snowfields on the way. Secondly, I climbed the Mönch summit near Jungfraujoch on my own and unaccompanied in 1990 and fell into a crevasse at the base of the mountain during descent under circumstances very similar to those shown in the video. So I also would know a thing or two about falling into crevasses without rope protection as well. With these memories from the same locations and how I can personally relate to the video, I stand by my comment that guardian angels would have been at play. On a final note: "being good" is no guarantee for "staying alive", especially not in the mountains. Cheers and stay safe!
Wow.🤠 ganz grosses Kino.
Thank you very much for the compliments. It makes us happy to hear that, our work is being rewarded. It was quite an adventure with a snowstorm and a whiteout. If you want to try this just be careful. Good luck for your adventures.
There wasn’t a particular reason; it’s just faster to not be roped up for that section. The terrain felt manageable and safe without needing the extra setup, but it was certainly a mistake. Does it answer your question?
What a nonsense also those facemasks at the end of your video, unbelievable how people could be manipulated ! I always have refused to wear them, I’m sorry, however thanks a lot for your beautiful video !
Another brilliant video. One small critisism 'tho, please don't put music on the soundtrack. It was distracting and a little irritating. The same overused track- you don't need it at all my friend.:)
Thank you very much for your valuable comment. I already had some remarks about the soundtrack but no one told me what's wrong. I know that on some sound configurations the music is too loud (I have a TV at home on which I should have changed the sound preferences). I will try to lower the sound volume next time and/or make a version without music.

So glad I experienced all of that and a big thank you to my Bob for keeping me safe and looking after me and enabling me to do it 😁

Guardian angels worked overtime for 3 days straight here, with reinforcements called in.

What a wonderful travelology, must have been a memorable project. Keep it up 🙂

Was there a reason that you didnt rope up for the Glacier hike to the first Hut?
