- Not only has it It been in movies and on album covers but hundreds of people work there. In tonight's Look At This! Desmond Shaw flies over the twin towers of the iconic Century City Plaza.
I had no idea!!! I like this "Look At This" segment! They're even built/facing/styled in the form of the Alcoa Logo.
Los angeles has it's twin towers, I had no idea that the century plaza towers were designed by the same architect as the twin towers in NYC, but they definitely have the same design cues as the original WTC, the century plaza twin towers are iconic, they served as the headquarters for the 80s tv series Remington Steele.
I did a lot of construction work in those buildings, besides being clad in aluminum the original ductwork was made of aluminum as was all of the other Alcoa commissioned buildings. We spent a lot of time in Century City removing the ductwork so that the Asbestos fire proofing could be removed...
Memories. We had our prom there at the Century Plaza Hotel...before the towers. John C. Fremont High, Class of 1971.
Fremont??? Did u meet Tookie?
@@WLA-General Went to school w/ Tookie, Raymond Washington, Carl Cancero, an a who bunch a other folk. 8 trey in the house...OG
WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT.... JUST LOOK AT IT!

🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're not looking at it.. Just look at it
Century City is also accounted for in number of completed skyscrapers in LA city limits. Those new twin towers were suppose to be 600 feet tall, but they were reduced to 537 feet, meaning Century plaza towers remain the tallest outside of downtown LA and downtown SF, until it’s surpassed by a 622 foot tall tower underway in downtown Oakland. It’s a “second skyline” for Los Angeles. As San Francisco builds their second and third skyline out on Treasure Island, and Van Ness & Market with three 600 foot towers. I think it’s amazing how only LA & SF are home to the most skyscrapers of any city on the west coast or any city in America besides NYC, Chi, Miami, & Houston. LA & SF come in at 5th & 6th respectively. LA’s skyline is definitely under-looked because it’s the second largest city in America so people expect it to be NYC or Chicago status. But nope. In all reality, LA has the same amount of skyscrapers as SF up north. For those who don’t know. A skylines ranking is based upon how many completed skyscrapers are within a city (150 M, 492 feet) LA has 30 while San Francisco has 28. Both cities have towers planned and underway so those numbers can change.
Comparing your skyline to a city of 800K vs your city of almost 4M - is not good! San Jose is a larger city than SF in it's own region!
I work in the north tower. And yes, I work for a law firm. Lol!
I remember hearing about a private office suite near the top, with a bathroom in a "corner"... floor to ceiling glass while sitting on the toilet?! 🤗💩
They’re like a triangle version of the old WTC.
100% occupancy of office towers in the current state of things is darn impressive!
Walked around that place before very nice area
A record cover with the buildings is for a Yes LP, going for the one. 1977.
It's more like thousands of people work there. People are gradually coming back, post pandemic stuff.
I like how these triangular towers look like they were pointing (looking) at eachother as if they were thinking: "Wth happened to our taller brothers? The WTC."
It's gunna go this way
Men, men, men!
Not now Margaret
I would rather look at the mountains in my back yard .
Should have become a lawyer. . .
Where is nakatomi plaza ?!
The fictional offices of detective “Remington Steele” were located in the Century City towers.

Yall asking for round 2
Why are you guys doing this......of course I know most of the skyscrapers in Los Angeles.......you guys doing this on purpose lol
Century City- Land of lawyers.
Fight club
Why do they not have legally required helipads!?!
I was thinking the exact same thing
@DerHUND those were built in 1975
@DerHUND since when and officially who says?
Back in the '70s police/medivac choppers were few. News choppers still a rare novelty.
