i cried during this scene and im man enough to admit it
Me too :)
How, it’s so fake and pathetic. No one comes out like this lmao.
@@Dufflebags202 Is there a set way to come out now? its a movie
Prince Charming exactly
@Jake Duffles Movies are escapism, movies are about idealism about possibilities. It is sad that you cannot enjoy such things but don't sit behind your keyboard criticising people that can. It only makes you look sad.
“Did you even use the ladder?”
Lol 😂 this teacher killing me
Màšťëř Øf Ŕìśķś I was laughing so hard
My spirit animal tbh
I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD IM SORRY
😂😂😂😂
This was lowkey the height of cinema. Black Panther poster on one wall and Love Simon on the other. One movie that celebrated Black Talent and Beauty, and the other celebrated Sexuality and the conversation of Coming out as Gay.
I'm still so sad that I missed this amazing movie in cinemas...I was too scared to go out and watch it alone, so I just streamed it at home...now I regret it so much
Jarred Knox yeah height of cinema was a bit dramatic, it’s cool seeing representation but it’s far from high class cinema
@Jarred Knox maybe not the height of cinema, but it was amazing in terms of representation in mainstream media
Oh my god lol
This movie really hit me when I first watched it. I was in denial about who I am, and in a sense I still am. But my coming out story is very similar. I didn’t come out by choice; it was posted in a group chat and I tried everything I could to deny it.
I wish I had a movie ending but it’s not always the reality.
Love Simon is an amazing movie, hard for me to watch, yet important.
I hope you get everything you ever wanted in life and i hope life treats you well. You deserve to be happy and be happy with who you really are. You are perfect and wonderful and one day somebody out there will see that.
Aaron Smith you are perfect and beautiful just the way you are, and i wish you all the happiness the world can give to you!
You deserve to love and be loved, it just takes time. May you find your love :)
And in the meantime, be fabulous :D
Dance, sing, be amazing and most of all be fearless!
Just know you have a community behind you. Regardless of any outcome. Their are people are have similar experiences but along the way they had some help getting through with this with friends, family, etc. Just don’t feel like you are alone because you aren’t. I know it can be tough but trust me you’ll get through this.
Hang in there Aaron. Keep the ones who love and care about you close. Rely on their strength to help you as you go through this.
this scene always make me happy and very enjoyable to watch to.
Yes man👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I cried at the fact that his dad accepted him cause my dad is iffy at best. And it still hurts
Not a single gay person especially Simon deserves so much disrespect. Just because someone’s gay, it doesn’t mean you get to make fun of them. Hell, you shouldn’t make fun of any kind of person because being a bully is NEVER ok.
I so agree
To be completely honest, there were just two young jerks who made fun of him.
Like I say 2 people every1's got a sad story that doesn't mean u have the right 2 b a bully. 🚫 📲 🗣
@@salvadorrobledojr9545 Wasn’t that from Cobra Kai as well?
@@ViceJosh1.9 Omg your so smart yes it is from Cobra Kai, but it's true still.
but like i want to start a petition for all high schools to show love simon every year, to show students to be whoever they want to be.
YES!
HELL! YES!
Include FIT, GEOGRAPHY CLUB AND SUGAR RUSH
So, I love the movie, but Blue is very awkward.
So the Ferris wheel scene would go against Blue’s whole character, and the book makes it more personal.
Blue gives Simon his phone number in a T-shirt. And they meet in a more personal way at the carnival
I agree whole heartedly. I think if anything, the crowd in the movie shouldnt have been there.
Oh what a surprise! Another book turned movie...¬¬ Are there no more original stories out there??
Bunny Hunny Bear I’ve never read the book, but I think that the crowd was added to add to the suspense! And it worked bc I was nervous asf 😭
@@pagehenson361 yeah like I get the idea of them being supportive of Simon, but at the same time it would have worked much better as an intimate moment imo
@@afarensis9720 I haven’t read the book (yet), but I think an intimate conclusion would work better in a book than in a movie. The movie focuses more on Simon’s journey to embracing himself more so than his relationship with Blue. I think the way the movie was set, it needed some type of bang to end on a high note and I think it worked very well for what it was.
I watched this before one of my classes and cried. When I got to class my fiend asked what was going on because I was quiet but smiling a lot. So I told her what movie I watched. After a bunch of strategic questions she finally got an answer out me " im bi..." And honestly that was the best feeling in the world to finally tell someone. Even now, as I type this, her and whoever reads this will be the only ones who know. But I still deam everyday to have a storybook or movie ending in my life where the perfect girl or guy will come along.
You deserve a happy ending
Aww that was really cute!
Pd: I'm bi too!
I loved the raw honesty of this scene.
It still makes me cry. Simon really pours his heart out here.
So beautifully expressed!!
😍😍😍
My parents are homophobes but i hope one day i can tell them the truth I'm bisexual and hope they understand as much as my best friends understand
Sodapop Goulet it will always be great and okay to just be yourself ❤️
@@OhMyMovieScenes i told them and they took it well and after i was crying and my friends told me people change so thank you
The fact that everyone reads tumblr and has one, kills me
I know right? I wish my school was like that.
Why is most of the cast from 13 reasons why are also cast in Love Simon
Translation: Why is most of the cast from a shitty show with a terrible message also cast in an important movie with an empowering message
@@cjck1344 13 reasons why has a powerful message, your pea sized brain just can't comprehend it.
Todd Smith 13 Reasons Why romanticizes suicide. Don’t even start.
@@cjck1344 explain.
Todd Smith Everyone bullies Hannah to the point of suicide and when she does the deed almost everyone gives her so much more positive attention. Imagine a suicidal and insecure teen watching this show. What do you think it’s telling them? They’ll be loved more if they do it? And the concept of leaving tapes after her death for the people who hurt her to listen to is portrayed as so badass that it will make people want to do it too. It’s putting the idea of suicide in people’s heads and I don’t like it.
"Amazing friends" yeah ok simon...
Man I hope I get to come out to my family soon. And in a good way. 😓
Korn Flakes sending love your way ❤️
Dont do it yet first get your own house and get a good job
I hope you have some great and dear friends , let them Carry the burden
Good luck!!!
Iam sending good positive vibes ur way !! And if and when u come out do it for u and anyone else cuz in our community u have our ears if u need it
Hello everyone, if you didn’t know yet, there’s going to be another somewhat similar story about a young man coming out.
It is a series called “Love, Victor” and it premieres June 17 on Hulu. Simon is mentioned in this series as it is also part of the “Love, Simon” world. Basically a spin-off!
Excited to see what’s to come 💕
waiting xxx
Thanks for your commitment
Yasss Honeyyyyy
Simon is going to be a narrator apparently! I'm so excited!!!
But I don't like in the US so I can't watch it legally :(((
This scene reminded me so much of "Never Been Kissed" with Drew Barrymore that is my favorite childhood movie of all time!
So sweet! So good!

Coming out might seems as if it's all butterfly and rainbows, but real life is not a movie, be careful on who you're coming out to. Not everyone is so accepting, and unless you're ready to burn bridges, keep it to yourself. I don't want anyone to ended up being killed/abused/abandoned by bigot family members or friends just because they get the notion that everyone will be accepting of their decision. Always set up a safe house and escape route if you decide to come out, and never go unprepared, especially when there are indications that your family or friends might not be so accepting. Best time to come out is when you're able to support yourself, or even better when the people you're coming out rely to you. Stay Safe and Stay True! Remember that once you come out, never stand for any abuse or pressure for you to change. You know yourself and what you are, don't let anyone change that.
Alex Shuysky
agreed. The overwhelming acceptance in this movie... Especially in a high school is soooo unbelievably unrealistic. You'd get beat up or ridiculed if you came out as gay or trans at my school. Maybe it's because it's a downtown school or something, idk, but most people aren't as accepting as recent media has been portraying it. Younger kids, age 5-10 tend to be more accepting because they haven't been biased by homophobic opinions, but once teen years hit, kids start to become influenced by the opinions of others and become homophobic themselves. That's just something I've noticed transitioning from elementary to high school.
That's why I both loved this movie and hated it. It shows what a supporting and loving home base can do for a person floating in limbo, but this was definitely a rose tinted coming out story
The book was better
buffalobillbuffalove Simon was outed by Martin, he didn’t exactly get to completely come out
Though this is absolutely true and I’m following the advice being a closeted gay male myself, I also know I can’t live in fear forever. One day I will come out as being gay because life isn’t meant to be lived being afraid of every waking moment. When I do come out to people closest I’ll definitely be prepared, but I definitely want to live my life honest to myself.
Nothing to be afraid of being rejected or pushed aside ... Be afraid of worrying those people who have eaten by their narrow-mindedness ...
It kinda motivated the people who are socially inactive and are going under such a sexuality . So this movie saved and shaped up many people's life. Keep it up Nick ... We love ya
I love this film❤
I love this movie so much 😍😍 😍
I have no issue with the gays or blacks. I feel so much better now that I have come out to the world. Thank you Simon.
And theres a show coming out this June 19th 😭😭 basically saying that some of us don't have that choice of having a supporting family/friends, a happy family, or even a choice.
I'm gonna cry so much watching the show
Best freaking movie ever.
I watched the movie a week ago..I was so inspired I came out to a girlfriend of mine who has known me for 6 years. And it was a great feeling to be able to say it out loud to someone who's straight. Then I also came out to a friend of mine who I liked for awhile. I guess he's straight but at the time I thought we had something going on though we couldn't admit it to each other. Now he has a baby with his girlfriend. He pretty much accepted me and was not too surprised.
I came out to 2 of my friends. One of them is a childhood friend of mine. He's a guy and when I came out to him, i was so scared although i knew he will be okay with it. That's when he also came out to me as bi!!! Another friend of mine, I told her and started crying and she went "So that was it? That's why you cried?? Why would you be sorry for being you". She had such a good response to me coming out. Tbh I never meant to come out to her but I just did it at the moment. I really want to come out to my parents but I live in such a conservative society although my parents are open minded. They wont disown me but they wont accept me either. Or its gonna take a long time before it happens. So I decided I wont come out until I have a job and I'm an adult, so that they cant tell me it's a phase
I wish I could have came out like this and actually had everyone in the school support me
He ate that oreo wrong.
haha 😂
Oh shit! I just realized what you meant by that
That's Amazing!!!😍😍😍
who else just smiled
Did anyone else notice that from 1:47 to 1:58 he walks faster than anyone else, the attention to detail!
i am so mad at how his friends reacted to him being outed. those aren't his friends. they didn't really care about what he was feeling and try to help him or support him. they dont seem to understand that he was being blackmailed and basically forced to do that otherwise he would be outed (which ended up happening anyway, unfortunately.) what happened to him and his friends was utter bullshit
now i need to watch Love Simon
This is the second best scene. The best was the way and the time they chose to use their one f word.
Martin so deserved to be yelled at by Simon. Martin screwed up badly and he fully deserved Simon's anger.
Martin is truly one clueless jerk.
My favorite scene is the "you get to exhale now, Simon" with his mom.
He had had such an incredibly miserable day at school starting with his friends mad at him, facing the student population, the cafeteria scene, the principal's office and finally the confrontation with martin.
What a really crappy day.
He so very much needed to hear those words from his mom.
They were so touching, deep and heartfelt.
i could not stop smiling during this scene istg
My all time favorite film will always be "Good Will Hunting" but "Love, Simon" comes really damn close on second place. Such a wonderful movie.
My all time favorite film is The Shawshank Redemption. Makes me cry UGLY tears (for various reasons too personal to share) every time I watch it. Love, Simon is good, but if I'm being honest it isn't even in my top ten, personally. My top ten would probably be:
1) Shawshank Redemption
2) 12 Years a Slave
3) Interstellar
4) Moonlight
5) The Notebook
6) The Green Mile
7) The Silence of the Lambs
8) American History X
9) Honestly the entire Harry Potter series
10) Avatar
I came out and after I did I felt so good. I didn't care what anyone else thought of me. Hiding a secret like that, its difficult and I felt this scene dearly.
Simon, what do you mean you couldn’t ask for more amazing friends? They were terrible.
Actually the Oreo he was eating after he finished typing his message was implying who Blue was.
wait, how did that imply who blue is?
@@khoiphan2990 Oreo was the first key item between Sam and Bram had after they started exchanging emails anonymously.
@@tojin ahh ok, thanks
This is so empowering
This was a very sad movie
im straight and i cried my eyes out during this movie
Amazing
I find the scene or he goes back to high school quite unrealistic but I think it's a way to show that the people of his school "'accepts" Simon as he is
I love this movie, thank’s to this movie I accepted myself and my sexuality
And I’m so happy mine family accepted me too
And sorry for my English
It was very obvious since the very beginning that Simon's parents and friends suspected of him being gay. They were just refusing to accept the idea.
Love forever
I could tell you that this is the first time I've watched this video - or even that it was within the first ten times - but I would be lying.
he's gonna be everyone's favorite homosexual 😘
our gay overlord!
I don't like how this scene was not in the book 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I think its awesome that Miles Heizer, Joey Pollari and Keynan Lonsdale are in this movie and all three are gay.
Actually, Keynan Lonsdale is pansexual. But it is cool.
@@Matsuna13 hes bi
ok I cried
Wish real life was like this
goosebumps
lmao the obvious oreo advertisement
I got outed in 2018 and I just told the truth and it’s pretty chill
One day, I hope to make such amazing and inspiring stories as well. It might be only one LGBTQ+ person I have helped with it, but then I will know I have done good.
I love thisseen
Me after watching season 4 of 13 reasons why and seing Alex 🤗
This Is Sad 😞
Why is it sad?
welcome to the life of a teen gay
I miss the excitement of thinking that me being gay was a bad thing. Kinda... dangerous. I never got to have that kind of coming out
1:28 I wish I could get courage to drive like that
This movie was the first movie I had ever seen with a gay character in it and it helped me so much
I have already come out as bi to my parents, but I still have a long way to go, you see I'm trans, and coming out as trans is a whole nother thing, your parents have to get used to a whole new you, new personality, new pronounce maybe even new hair, clothes and so much more, I really need to tell them cause I'm slowly dying everyday I can't start t or wear a binder
2:12 it turns out the whole thing was an Oreo commercial...
Love, Simon movie is so much better than love, Vicor the tv show, it just feels more complete.
I love how they make a film like this in 2019, such a hard life these millennial live - now go back to the 60s/70s/80s when gay people really had it tough and then make the fucking film!
I love this movie but u have not seen this in a long time trying to find this on blu-ray.
Love Simón is perfect because the actor is Straight in real life ... and that's so so HOT for gay (man) people
okay, i love this movie and scene but did anyone notice how big his steps were during the overshot of him waking in the school?
🌹🌹
Are you a Muslim?
This is soo close to a perfect movie. It does so much without seeming to do all that it does. I wanted only one change. I had desperate wish for the ending, that whoever got on that ride, NOT look like a movie star teen '10'. Maybe a few extra pounds, maybe some bigger ears, maybe less that god given perfect looks - like 90% of gay teens. Maybe that charming sweet Simon smile goes to someone just as worthy - without the flawless complexion, swimmer's build and perfect teeth. Because that addresses one of the major issues in gay subculture and media continues to promote images of physical perfection when body shame issues, bulemia, fad diets and surgeries consume too much of our energy. That would have made this post modern gay coming out movie even better!
✨Chills✨
I feel tired of pretending too. I came out to my dad and some of my other family as lesbian, but not my stepmom. She is disgusted by the lgbt community. I wish she and my step-siblings were so much more understanding.
♥️♥️
He
He just bit into that oreo like it was nothing.
I need some time to think about this.
He probably had to do the scene several times and bit into a lot of Oreos.
Messier of it come and goes most a sceret of love to hide everything a feeling liked most people be liked that to
wait who tho
😭💖
💙
I feel like this is one of those movies that talks about gay people, but is made for straight people if that makes sense
like im gay and I find this movie extremely cheesy like a lifetime movie
nah i agree
I came out over snapchat as trans to everyone and everyone thought it was a joke so im now firmly back in the closet
I'm sorry that happened. Just remember that you are loved, and you are valid and amazing. I wish you the best of luck whenever you decide to come out again, and I hope that your friends and family are supportive.
I don't know If i hate or Love Martin, because of what he've done
Martin definitely is a jerk who needs to do a lot of growing up.
poggers
Am I the only one who think that the short blonde hair guy at 0:51 is actually gay too, but closeted? Like in the movie, I feel like he's been insecure and when Simon was outed, he was quite kind to Simon and looked like he wanted to talk about it because he shared the same difficulties.
If you are referring to the guy in the white sweater, who played piano during the school play; in real life, he actually is gay.
Watching this video, the only thing i noticed is alex standall and hanna baker from 13 reasons why.
What music?
Rob simonsen Love simon
Thought love Simon was about a teen who was confused about his sexuality and it was a corny love story but Love,Simon is amazing 100/10
Sub number 90 ;) your welcome
Kaochii Thanks! ❤️
Am I the only one who noticed he was eating oreo
I also want to eat a oreo
did you even use the ladder
why have I just noticed the Hamilton playbill in his room?
he liked theatre and people thought he was straight?
Straight people can be in theatre. I'm gay and in theatre BUT ALL of my theatre friends (12 people) are straight. Seriously why does everyone automatically assume you are gay just because they do and enjoy theatre? Let people do what they enjoy.
Its a lot less powerful as a clip.
My favorite scene is the one on one conversation Simon has with his mom.
You get to breathe now, Simon.
I still cry over that scene.
Both Hannah baker and Alex standall
My homophobic dad cried during this
Ok i havent seen the full movie so i dont know whats happening
Am gonna be more supportive to gay people from now on
