WOW AMAZING NICE. I was thinking it would be good to have opening at rear/back door where you can retreat the mail and have bottom half just drop in and then you open it in back with a key Awesom! Thanks for sharing Blessings Sir
Even though you didn’t get the chance to joint your brick wall you can always rake out the joints :) maybe a nicer look if not rake it and that will give you the room to re apply spec mix into joints for smooth finish
Use a grinder with a fat diamond wheel. Grind out your joints and fill back with what they call a cake bag. Use type s morter. A scoop of Portland will help it through the bag.
Yea that actually looks great. I watched because I’m about to do the same thing with my mailbox and I’m trying to get ideas. Never done brickwork before though so not sure how it will turn out. Maybe I’ll post a vid if it comes out good.
To add: the foundation should be 1.5 wider than the column above and frost line depth for your region. So (24”x 1.5). This prevents the column from tilting
Hi, I live in MN. Suggestions to build a pillar? I dont have a cement base poured. I have had 3 different suggestions, need tried n true. Thanks a bunch. :)
Tho I’m not and able to do a brick install it definitely in more ways then none... I’m redoing the poa concrete base for my mailbox it wasn’t level and had wet concrete overflow making it ugly...
On 18:28 it's not easier on the ground just hold the brick like a man and don't be scared to hit the brick hard and I guarantee u will get bad ass cuts
@@ranchopreciado6754 ether way it works, masons do it in their hands reason being on scaffolds no ground, and speed wise those kind of bricks 2-3 hits done.
It took me about a week but that was because I was doing it before work. But I would say it was probably 2 days straight giving the cement time to dry and settle.
Like I said in the video it’s my first time building something like this. Might not be pretty but it’s been almost three years since I built it and it’s still standing.
Like I said it was my first time doing it. Thanks for the watch. And you would be surprised how many comments I get on it. Once again thanks for the watch.
Awesome project! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you soo much. This definitely helped me have the big picture of how to do mine.
Bryan Torres thanks. Glad the video helped.
I like it. Most people are afraid to even try brick work.
Jonathan Schearer thanks. Figure you never know if you can do something unless you try it.

Thanks. You should or at least let me know how it comes out.
Why not use some of the surrounding rocks, tamp them down and use less cement?
Looks great either way . Thanks got the video.
Hyg44 Gu first time doing this type of project. Using the rocks is a good idea. Will keep that in mind in case I do another similar project.
Thanks.
Dude don't beat your self up. You did a nice job. Pat yourself on the back and

What is there to hate about someone building a mailbox? Nothing’s wrong with suggestions. Why the potty mouth ma’am?

@@ranchopreciado6754 yeah, Billy Joel wrote a song about that
That looks like Crap. If I was looking for a house to buy, and saw that awful mailbox, I would turn around and run away and never look back.
