Mission to Lipari
In this episode I share my mission to get to Lipari before my daughter and her friends arrive. And on this solo sail from Cefalu to Lipari I share the beauty of a great sail I also the unexpected frustrations of civilization that can find you anywhere you happen to be.
This Channel , SAILING ADVENTURES WITH GRANDAD , is about a sailing adventure on Vayu my 44 ft sloop leaving Palma de Mallorca and sailing to the Eastern Mediterranean.
I am Grandad Michael, 73, lifetime sailor, practicing yogi, father of 4, grandad of 5, amateur chef, and contented bachelor. I live in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
My sailboat Vayu is a 2002, 44 ft X-Yacht (X-442), from Denmark.
This journey East is a celebration of life and dedicated to living life to the fullest if and as long as one can. I am aware and fully appreciate my good fortune. And have decided to create these videos to share this life journey with friends, family and all who care to join us.
This channel was launched at the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion and I decided then that until its over I will make monthly contributions to Save the Children-Ukraine, in the hope that millions of us with even small contributions can help ease the suffering of the many displaced Ukrainian families.
