Showed it to my dad, he used to be a diesel mechanic for the military. I showed him the part about Big Red and he says it seems like an electrical issue.

OMG! Cosmo looks JUST LIKE my first dog Pepper who died in 1995. I found him at a busy intersection in 1983Houston where I was living at the time. I never knew what kind of dog he was, though people had different ideas. (No DNA testing back then!) He looks so happy to be going home with them, and the little boy looks so happy, too!

I really enjoyed this video. I'm so happy to see Ginger and Joy go home with Dr. Nancy. They'll continue to get the love and care they deserve from a real vet and horse lover. Congratulations to all who are continuing their education, and to those who are moving into new positions at HP. God has a plan. I think Cosmos will be super happy with the little boy he went home with, and more than likely they'll become best friends for life. HP is awesome. God bless y'all.

I had an '88 Pontiac Grand Am that did the same thing. Diagnostics said the engine temp sensors were misfiring. After the sensors were replaced, the same thing happened in the way home. Diagnostics revealed multiple error codes, the mechanics didn't believe in the short distance all that happened and replaced the computer which solved the issue. Completely electrical.

Whenever I see "Big Red" my mind immediately goes to Secretariat, heh. And Red Dead...well, that completes with Redemption 2 ofc. That said, Happy Trails to the team members who are leaving. They will be missed!
For Jason, my son has a car that did the same thing as big red. It turns out that part of the sending unit has a mesh ( screen) filled with gunk and would stop the flow of fuel. Screen may need to be changed. I'm not sure about diesel, but it worked for a gas vehicle. And it was a inexpensive fix.
It makes sense that any fuel in the system was used quickly then the engine cuts out. Hope it’s an easy fix as you say.
I am going to miss seen Rebecca and David. Best wishes to both of them.

My van use to do the same thing. It was really scary when pulling out of a grocery store I was told it was electrical. Ugh, sorry about Big Red❤

I had the same problem with my old car. thousands of euros in repairs, every garage thought differently. I recently drove to a German garage and they quickly found out that the fuel valve to the engine no longer worked properly. Quickly picked up 1 at the scrapyard and then drove super, literally repaired for 3 euros
I had 1 years ago that did what Big Red is doing. I had rust & sediment that had built up in the gas tank and when I hit the gas it would surge up and choke the fuel line, then the engine would die. It always restarted because that didn't create enough pressure to push the sediment. It took a long time to find the problem!

So: you have things locked in your safe but they can be fished out with a bend wire? May want to call it your "sorta" safe.
Agreed! That is one strange safe! Not a fire safe with all those slots and openings....very light and portable, kinda like the one my diary was in when I was 8. No offense and sure its needed for something...maybe time for an upgrade...probably one where it's not possible to lock the key in tho, cause that's not a typical available feature. Either having a digital lock or needing the key on the outside to be able to lock it.

Watch out, Dr Nancy. You are at Horse Plus a fairly short time and you have adopted one cat and 2 horses. Whatever property situation you have will get filled up before you know what happened.😀😀😀😀. I love the quality of everyone's work. The horses look wonderful. Thank you!

I've had numerous friends with diesels that have done the same thing. Dodge's, GMC and Chevy Denali's. Starts and just stops.
It's something in the computer panels. They've all had to have them replaced. Yes, to the tune of lots of dinero! Thats a sharp truck too.
Caitlyn will be great at the front desk. She is amazing and so is Kory. You've got a great staff. Keith and Angela. Gosh, what would you do without them!

When we can't find our backup keys we always make copies and give them to friends and we put the in a key holder that is shaped of a rock so make duplicates more than 1 duplicate

My truck did that exactly…it was a sensor but it took forever to figure it out
We had a caddy that would do that turn right and die thing. I was young, but I think it had something to do with the fuel line being pinched or something. It could be from gas sloshing, clogged fuel filter, bad MAP sensor, a wire shorting....
I’ve had experience with those baby carrots in canning and they are saturated with chlorine! A year after dry canning and I opened the jar and the chlorine smell was really still strong. 😱😭Needless to say, I trashed the Whole Batch! And it was multiple bags! Better to get the actual big carrots!💕

Big Red it's either the Fuel Filter or the Transmission can do that too ! cause it to just stop running!
My husband experienced a similar issue on his truck with the CP4 high pressure fuel pump that had a cracked seat in one of the high pressure heads. Hope you get it diagnosed soon.

That happened to my chevette. It was one of the belts that was slipping and when the wheel turned one thing touched the other and shorted a connection.

ITs a fuel deliver issue.. Runs fine when fuel demand is low. As you tip into the throttle, demanding more fuel, the fuel isnt there. SO it could be fuel restriction to the pump, or high pressure fuel pump issue..

Cosmo and Little Man gone..they are too cute..love Thunder -he's beautiful..I hope people don't shy away from a partially blind horse..growing up I had the most amazing Shetland rescue who lost an eye when it got torn out by a panic run through the fence (a very scary looking nasty smelling billy goat wandered into the horse pasture who walked over a mile from home)..she took the eye loss in stride and never had an issue navigating..the trick was to always let her know I was nearby and I always allowed her to move her head where she wanted..
I wish Cowboy finds a forever home..he's just too sweet..

I don't know the year and model of BIG RED, but my guess is the master COMPUTER (assuming all the new vehicles have computers these days.) In past decades, a cracked distributor cap could cause intermittent shutdowns once the vehicle heated up and the crack expanded, but the vehicle would not start right back up again until the crack cooled and closed.
I suspect a computer problem because the shut-downs seemed to be regular and in the middle of a cycle that is disrupted (from the tiny bit of info you gave in this video). The fact that Big Red will start right back up again, immediately after dying, shows the issue is NOT MECHANICALLY heat-related. The same can be said for fuel related. A bad computer module could fail repeatedly at a certain point in the computer-controlled RUN processes and shut it down instead of proceeding to the next computer regulation point, whether it be regulation of the engine responses or regulation of the fuel distribution, etc.
If the DEALER says they can't find the problem, ask them to check the main computer module by switching ALL the connections to a known good computer (a new one) to see if that cures the problem.
Decades ago, it used to be the ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS that caused these problems. Now the computers get finicky and nobody thinks to check this by simply switching to a new one to see if the problem is solved,

Hi there . i bought a ford kuga 4 by 4 and it just stopped at junctions !! I had the carburetta cleaned out and changed the diesel filter . Water in the injection. now its fine . Touch wood . You have to buy a little suction bottle to suck out dirty diesel and found little rocks in it too in the chamber. Good luck

It could be a way forward....or maybe you guys could get another news piece, with Clant gone, you could ask the media to cover your taking over the Stop the big lick campaign. You could ask on the piece if any dealers could donate a truck to help you out. Times are tough but there’s always people out there looking for charities to support.

Another amazing episode! So, so excited Cosmos got adopted! 🎉 Sweet Boy 😊 The leopard Apaloosa is gorgeous. And his owners did best to get him to Horse Plus. So exciting that Ginger and Joy were going home now with Dr. Nancy! I am so relieved she found such an amazing home. I'm not an expert but I've had that happen to me with a vehicle especially a Ford and it's the neutral safety switch

Hey, Jason you are not alone. Here in Illinois our postal trucks are doing exact same thing. Our mechanics cannot find out what and why they're keep on shutting down. Yay for Cosmo! He apparently chose his humans. Good for Doctor Nancy adopting Ginger and Joy. They get a great home and Ginger will get the attention to her leg she still needs. A friend had a vehicle that was doing something similar to what's going on with Big Red. It was an obscure sensor that was sending faulty signals that caused the fuel flow to shut down. Hopefully it's something like that that will be fairly easy to fix once they figure it out.
