- I've been planning this trip for months.
The goal was too camp up north in the Adirondacks and catch a fish I've never caught, a fish that may be common catch for some anglers, the Northern Pike.
This is my 24 hour adventure to Indian Lake.
Nice!
Try Lake Lila for smallmouth. Shingle Shantee Creek. Killer.
It's a smelt lake. All the bait is at 20-25 feet. All you are going to get in the shallow bays are dinks. Trolling or casting a deep diving jointed Rapala smelt minnow and you get into big smallies and pike.
I’ve been fishing Indian Lake, NY for the past 10 years and you are absolutely right. I usually have better luck down by the Jesep thrown squarebills, tubes and senkos. This year (July) I and going to try a few different lures and got some larger in line spinners that I replaced the treble with a single hook. I picked up some 6th sense Panorama to us as a smelt trainer. Also have some deep diving crank baits and lipless. Where would you recommend I target for Pike and smallies that are deeper? I’ll be staying at campsite #5 this year. Definitely going to fish all around that site and surrounding islands. Thanks in advance
I would recommend a spoon or spinner for Pike
Thanks for this video! I'm actually heading to Indian Lake in a couple weeks. I see you were using dropshots and those little swimbaits. Would you mind my asking what kinds of plastic you were using? The bass seemed to eat them up.
There isn’t very many pike in Indian lake
Lower Saranac is good
