    Love F. March, he was so good looking, but he still never bores me. The older he got, the better his acting.

    Basically March and Paul Muni created the film acting art form in the early 1930s. The performance by March as Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1932) is one of the greatest in film history.

    Thank you so much for putting this great movie here! One of my favorites and one of the "stark reality" movies in that era. Later on I worked in pathology at a hospital, which made me realize how much this movie was so authentic. A lot of changes in medicine in the last 50 years!

      +kakadoodoo3000 Yes, I agree. He is the highlight. I do also love many of the others, e.g. Aline MacMahon, Ina Balin, Edward Andrews, Ben Gazzara, and Eddie Albert. Truly a great cast!

    Full term baby's weigh is about 7 lbs, this movie reminds me what my older brother told me about his first baby's weigh at brith wasen't full term, 3 pounds had to spend along time in an incubator. She's about 45 yrs old and and about 160 now. Thanks UA-cam great dramatic medical movie and actors Fredric March and Eddie Albert.

    The 1961 film is titled, "The Young Doctors" and features, possibly, the finest acting performance Dick Clark ever gave.

    It was movies like this that made me want to become a nurse when I was a kid. In addition, the baby in this movie has to be the all-time cutest baby ever born. Seriously.

      I'm not sure if they used a real hospital for this movie, but check out "The Interns" and "The New Interns" - they used the old L.A. County General for those, and it's still there.

    In the book, Pearson resigned because the baby died. (He was indirectly responsible for its death by failing to act on a recommendation of a further blood test.)

    "Nothing like living" says the wise old doc, as he blows smoke in the nurses face! Of course, smoking WAS recommended BY docs back then.

    Interesting how society and its views have changed. In that era, it was natural that the young people coming up would replace the old hands. The idea of making room and the old giving way to the new was accepted really without question.
    If this movie were made today, you would have March staying on, and the young doctor apologizing, realizing he had a lot to learn.
    Not saying either is *right*, just how things have changed.

    Doctors performing abortions hardened their hearts to the opening words to do no harm to their patients. May each doctor and worker in these killing clinics be shamed by these words.

      A high risk that can be avoided is breast cancer. It was once an old women's disease. The ABC link is blacked out. Mother's are not fairly given an INFORMED choice and too many women battle the horror of breast cancer. Plan Parenthood fears to even show mother's the baby in the womb with ultrasound equipment. Their business is killing babies. Mothers once again RISK their own lives. Too many mothers aborting THEIR BABIES die! Health care for mothers aborting their child is EXTREMELY NEGLIGIBLE in Planned Parenthood murdering centers.

    • @joan6187
      @joan6187 7 років тому

      Many mothers die opting to destroy their child in the womb. See "Life Dynamics" website. Mark Crutcher has a list of mothers who were murdered byabortion doctors. Abortion is a very dangerous surgery. Grievously you are obviously in defense of innocent babies slaughtered while in the womb of their mothers to experience a horribly, excruciatingly painful death. Think about it. Who will defend you when you are in need of defense?

    • @joan6187
      @joan6187 7 років тому

      You do not want an argument....however, your justification of abortion and birth controlling are not rooted on safe ground and leads to many other atrocities against humanity. Did you know birth controlling is a satanic practice and violates the Commandment of God as does abortion. He sends the life and only He can take life away.
