Nice video. I have a gen 1 Levo comp which I still ride and thoroughly enjoy. I’ve done basic maintenance and added the button controls on the handlebar but not much else. I look forward to purchasing a gen 3 in the near future!!
New bikes have the warranty and fresh battery. The bigger difference for me is the adjustable geometry on Gen3. U can add a water bottle battery to your Gen1.
Never had a gen 1, but I had a gen 2 expert that I mulleted. It's pretty close to my gen 3 alloy comp. I am going to sell the alloy and get a carbon comp. Love the feel of carbon.
Nice! Hitting the poker chips/dinner plates in the ‘Blo! I’m still stubbornly pedaling a regular mountain bike. But when the time comes for an ebike, the technology will be bonkers haha! Cheers, Tucker👊🏻
Question: A local bike store in Mexico has offered to sell me a gen 1 Levo that was returned by a customer and refurbished by specialized for $2800 USD (new frame and motor, original brakes and components). New gen 3 models cost $6-7k depending on specs. Is this a good deal in 2023?
Specialized is having some big sales right now (3/18/23). I picked up a comp carbon for 6750 and the comp alloy is 5625. Might be worth upgrading if you already own the bike but I wouldn't go out and buy a used bike with the intention of doing big upgrades. While you can put the 27.5 wheel on the older bike you can't change the chainstay length, which is shorter on the gen 3.
I hear you Tucker on Crank length, mm can make a hiuge difference, I have never rode a 29" R, I'm a 26"R, but interested in the 27 1/2" R's.. RIDE ON My Friend!
Hi great video, I am waiting for my S3 levo comp carbon to be delivered. $6750 USD in the online winter sale. Now back up to $9k, couldn't resist my first e bike from a alloy comp epic which I love. I wanted to get my wife out more the new sizing means the S3 will fit her 5'4" and also me 5'10". So when she's out I'll be on my epic and when I'm out with my mate we will be on e bikes he's just bought a Obea H15. So it's his fault that I have pulled the trigger on the levo🤣.
nice comparison! but you could've used the 2022 alloy version components to spec up your old levo for like 1000$! then it wouldnt be such a bad deal anymore! one question though can you put in a 29" in the rear of the 2018 levo?

I picked up the comp alloy gen 3 for $5600 plus tax during the Black Friday sale. Great bike.

Just got a 2022 Expert Carbon as a company for my 2020 Expert Carbon. Got 30% off for a brand-new bike, great time to buy bikes at the moment.
Great video! This helps those of us looking at cheaper used bike know there are some options out there.
just ordered turbo levo comp alloy, it is on a huge sale right now.

I love my gen 3 just cant wait for some decent weather here in uk, the wet months just wreck a bike and its too much money to destroy
@dale Webb I feel your pain! Winter is tough...
@@ElectricCycleRider 🤝🏻😁
Great video! Another thing to consider is the modifications that were done to the motor to improve its reliability + Matermind TCU in the 3rd gen.
Thank you very much for the nice videos, can you possibly add the links to the upgrade parts you did on the second video please?
keep 'em rolling.

Gen 3 Levos are a different animal 👍

i have a 2018 levo and maybe sell it to buy a levo sl 2023, any recommendation?
Please can someone explain me
Every turbo levo have 140mm fork? 😢
Might be time to sell, but not to anyone who watches your channel, lol.
🤙🏼⚡🤙🏼
oh and lets hope the new 2.2 motors hold up!!! it's pathetic that in the year 2020+ a belt rips apart and crap like this!!!

Stuck with the crappy gen1 battery🥲
