  • This is my bmw e46 330cd Individual.
    The car is estoril blue with individual cream leather.
    It's the 204bhp model with 6 speed manual gear box. The car has hybrid turbo, full egr system delete, 3inch straight through exhaust system from the turbo all the way back, swirl flaps blanked, custom remap. I have a custom intercooler to go on very soon and maybe change the injectors for the 535d and it should be good for 360+bhp
    Outside, the car has 19 inch wheels from the 6 series bmw, lowered on coilover, genuine m3 mirrors, CSL Boot lid, colour coded front grill, brakes painted yellow.
    Thank you for watching my video!

    Just thought I'd add..... last year I took this car around Europe and in Germany i tried to see what it could do as there is no speed limit in some places and it went off the clock. My wife was too scared to take a video or a pic otherwise i would have added it to this video but what impressed me was the way it pulled from 100mhp (160km) to 150+mph.
    It's definitely fun to drive.
    As much as I love my m3 and it's in a different league, I wouldn't say a tuned 300d is boring, they're very different cars but very good in they're own way.
    Any comments or suggestions about the car are welcomed :)

From what they've told me, they don't like making exhausts and sending them away in case the fit is not good. That's why they want their customers to drop the car off. Great guys and they do a really good job!

I'm not too sure what you'll have to do to the early 3.0l diesel engines to get it close to 300bhp as from what I've read the early 3.0l diesel bmw engines are a bit harder to get more power. What's Hybrid Turbo?

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  6 років тому

      Nick OttantaTre A Hybrid Turbo simply means a non-standard or potentially upgraded turbocharger. This consits of a turbo with combined parts from different frame sizes and potentially different manufactures, such as Garrett or BorgWarner to make the ultimate performance turbo. Increasing the boost pressure also increases the internal loading within the turbocharger, and often requires a change to the bearing system usually incorporating a 360° thrust.
      I just copied this as it ex0lains it better than I would have 😁

    what clutch are u using? and for what size turbo size after hybrid

  • @fnxberserkfnx7033
    @fnxberserkfnx7033 5 років тому

    Can I ask what clutch and flywheel you have in this? I have just had mine mapped. (I have the same model) It ran 268bhp and just over 400lb ft of torque on the dyno but one week on and the clutch is slipping horrifically! The BMW specialist where I had it mapped (by an external company) said that a new genuine clutch and flywheel will definitely handle that much power, he said he has had some over 300bhp and the genuine clutch was good. I also asked him for a quote on the uprated parts so just wanted to ask you what you had as yours is a beast!

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  5 років тому +1

      Hello
      I had the standard clutch and flywheel. The clutch was changed about 15.000 miles before I tuned the engine and the car has done a further 30.000 miles or so with 300bhp and it's absolutely fine. I never had any problems putting the power down and in the time I had it I drove the car quite hard, I just never redlined the car in 1st gear but from second gear and above I would floor it all the way to max and never had any issues. I've sold the car to a friend of mine and he drives it every day and hasn't had any issues with the clutch. The only thing that lasted a year was the prop shaft doughnut, 300bhp was a bit too much for the doughnut 😁
      Maybe your clutch was coming to an end and with the extra power it fastened the wear but once you change it I don't think you'll have any problems going original clutch again.
      I do miss this car sometimes. It had so much road presence and so rare to find another 330d coupe in estoril blue. The video doesn't do the car justice how it sounded, people didn't believe me when o used to tell them it was a diesel.

    I like what I'm seeing man, good stance/functional, nice interior blue/yellow combo, good exhaust note aswell for a diesel and the immaculate paint job on it is superb !
    Only thing I'm not about is the wheels, but hey - it's a taste thing and everyone's got their own.
    Anyways - I'm looking to buy one of those e46 300cd sweeties but I'm horrified by the famous Subframe tear/crack/rip and I do want to ask you if you have done anything to reinforce your subframe, has it had the need to be done at all and if you have done it - what kit did you use/ how does it hold and etc ? I'd be really appreciative if you could please share your experience :=)

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  5 років тому +1

      RiSER DimitroV Thank you! Haha you're not the only one that feels that way about the wheels. People either loved them or hated them, there was no middle 😄. To be honest they grew on me, they stuck out perfect as the arches were pulled and I tried the wheels from my m3 and they didn't stick out far enough. That was the reason why I left them on. I did think of CSL wheels too but I then sold the car so there was no point to change them.
      As for the rear subframe, all e46 bmw's suffer with that problem, especially m3s. I have two e46 M3s and also when I had the blue 330cd, i didn't have any issues with the cars, the 330cd was very solid car but it's a matter of time as it cracks on all of them unfortunately! There is a place in London that welds plates and charges £750, one of the best prices out there as some people charge over £2000. The place that charges £750 is called ETA Motorsport. If you're going to tune your 330cd I would recommend to get it done as there's so much tourqe going to the back wheels.
      If you have any other questions just ask.
      Thanks
      Sam
