I once tried to trailrun it from Herculaneum. Police stopped me due to tree cutting maintenance. Tried another way but too many rabid stray dogs made it impossible to get up. Was a disappointing experience. I ran Mount Fuji the year after for 0 charge, much better experience but no way to cycle that one up. U can cycle Etna though…

It was kind of disappointing. I wasn’t expecting tourist Disneyland at the top

so where did you get the ferry to ? I stopped in Napoli also on my tour of Italy, i recall those bumpy black paved roads. The archeaological museum in town was amazing, truely.

Great vids. Inspired by your China trip, I'm on a trip at the moment heading along the Danube to the black sea, I was wondering what kind of bike maintenance you do yourself during longer trips that are maybe a month plus? Do you clean off and regrease the gears and bearings regularly?

I take a chain cleaning wipe and an old rag and try and clean now and again. But it’s difficult when you don’t always have access to a hose

@@Josh-Reid kk thanks. Im wild camping so the bikes outdoors all the time. Or most of the time. It's just concerning how quick the bike wears out! But maybe that's just standard for back to back 80 - 100km days. I don't know.

Hey! I couldnt find any information about the saddle youre using. Do you mind telling me what it is and why youre using it? it looks quite special

It’s an ISM saddle. Ive been trying it out and I think I like it. It’s meant to allow you to get into a better position whilst in the aero bars. Was mainly for the transcontinental.

@@Josh-Reid i see, thanks for your answer! What saddle do you usually use?

@@alkfema I don’t tend to stick to one in particular. Not exactly sure on the models I have previously used

Nice shots, but you should know that it's strictly forbiddenp to fly a drone over Pompei, Ercolano and Vesuvio. You were very lucky not to get caught, you risked a complaint and a huge fine
