He still would even if it weren't canon, he's still got the better stache, SERIOUSLY IT'S SO WELL TRIMMED, I NEED A MUSTACHE LIKE THAT AAAAAA- ﹰWalugi's stache is also nice, like how do you keep such a good MUSTACHE like that--
Ryaquaza 1 hey nite Nintendo makes bad decisions too. When it comes to great fan games sega hires the people that makes them and gets them to make a official sonic game. Nintendo sues even when the people don't make money. People playing your games on UA-cam is free advertising. Nintendo makes great games but decisions other then that are all dumb. If Nintendo was an indie company they would not be able to get away with some of their dumb decisions.
I'm tired of everyone talking about these extremely unimportant topics in reference to Mario! I want someone to make a video tackling real issues! Such as: why the hell are Mario's pockets so small while his hands are practically the size of his head?
What about the extra mushroom or fireflower or whatever power-ups Mario can hold on to in case of emergency, he must put them into his pockets right when storing them and a mushroom is about the size of Mario's head I'm starting to think it's like the Tardis in his pockets.
i figure they are fake pockets, like assholes give females on their clothing, stupid fashion people thinking people dont need pockets, we all need pockets more pockets for everyone
I can't wait for Super Mario Quest where Bowser dresses as a hippie and rips off Mario's mustache, where his new reaper friend Hairy gives him a mustache with the power of cursing enemies. Coming to the Nintendo Bamboozle September 12, 2701.
Fun fact: I own a gaming magazine from the late 90s that had a interview with Miyamito. They asked him why he has brown hair but black eyebrows and mouthstash. His answer? He dyes them... -.-
actually the pink was due to a glitch that occurred when transferring the game from japanese to english. in the Japanese Lttp his hair is brown like it should be, from what i understand. they couldn't fix the glitch in the coding without causing a lot more problems for themselves, thus link was left pink
This was an extremely high-quality video, and I loved every moment, even the awkwardly-relatable comedy had some very good timing and didn't detract from the topic of the video, seeing as it was relevant to the video and the topic of this video isn't very serious. and the information used was presented well, Thank you for making this.
The secret of Mario's mustache? It's fake. A sticker. I'm sure you know this already, as in Odyssey, the mustache magically grows on the enemies Mario possesses. But, in fact, Mario takes out his backup sticker mustache from beneath his hat, and puts it on.
I don't know why, but the damage groan from the 64 version always makes me laugh, lol. This is my favorite video you've done. I like how you Incorporated what the creators had to say.
I can tell people from experience: My head hair is a brown-ish color, my facial hair is stark ravin' red, and my misc hair is a combination of both. I always thought it was just an oddity of genetics from both my parents. But now I know it's fairly common, thanks to Gnoggin.
This is why my mustache grows in a pale color, my sideburns in red, and the rest of my hair in brown with occasional grays here and there. Gray hairs and I'm not 30 yet. Been having them since I was 14.
Yeah, while mine is normally very dark brown I've had straight up white hairs since the damn thing grew in the first time at around 20 and regularly get them now at coming upon 30. I've also (unfortunately in my opinion since I thoroughly dislike red hair) had plenty of red ones (probably because my mother had quite the opposite opinion of them having had me and my 3 siblings with 3 red haired men). Weirdest thing is the other two types of beard hairs I regularly get that are gold colored (not any kind of blonde, but gold) or just completely lack color (being clear like I'm somehow growing hair shaped plastic, lol).
Qwyatt Winds sad he didn't bring mung up he had the greatest mustache a kid could lay his eye upon His mustache was so great that I grew a mustache at age 8 just by watching him
That moment you recognize the background music, and can name the game it's from the instant it starts playing. I didn't even register the background music until 3:30, then all I could think was the Super Mario Sunshine
While watching this video, a part of me was starting to think that this video was sponsored by the Dollar Shave Club or something else pertaining to facial hair. Looks like I was wrong.
Another possibility: his hair color started as a deep dark-brown nearing black and his mustache and eye brows are the least affected by age. (my former neighbor's grandpa had fully grayed-out hair (what was left of it anyway), but his eyebrows and beard were still a medium-to-dark brown as all of his hair had been.)
Hey, you can rock a mustache. Sure, it might take you a little longer to grow one out nice and full, but the look makes you look a little more rugged and stern. (It's biggest effect is how much it brings out your eyebrows, which really brings out your facial expressions!) I was always fascinated with expressions and emotions shown through pixelated characters, and since dabbling in it myself, I've grown an even greater appreciation for it. Mario's original design was made with enthusiasm and love. You can tell just by looking at it. Just think of where that dedication took him! I'm just a hobbyist when it comes to pixel art, but Mario's ever-evolving design is one that truly inspires me to keep improving on my older designs and to appreciate and be proud of what I have made while also constantly pushing myself to improve. Hi, Josh! Metal beard! "We felt bad for Mario...so we gave him brown hair." This is how creators should feel about their creations. I love hearing/reading about Miyamoto discussing his characters.
I think Mario's Mustache has some type of magical power as in all the mario and luigi games, the "Stache" stat determines the chance of landing "Lucky" Hits
Oilspill ,Sign Language, and ,Squirrel Noises Tell that to the Creationists. Catholics (which I am so I should know) already know that evolution and the first chapter of Genesis coincide very well together.
Imma be honest with you man I'm pretty sure if like anybody else made this video i wouldn't of watched it, but you somehow made this video interesting and entertaining. Either A: you're using magic. Or B: you damn good at making stupid things damn interesting. Idk keep up the good work man.
Okay, I'll be honest. At very first, I thought this was gonna end up being some way out there theory about it being a parasite or something.... But that seems more up Matpat's alley. =V But, turns out... this was actually a really good video discussing how Mario's design came to be. I knew some of these things already, but they were presented VERY well here. I wouldn't mind more videos like this one in the future. Also.... At 3:53, Hudson should have taken that advice for Bomberman.... Because MAN, Bomberman Zero... well, that "Zero" in the title is fitting for a 0 out of 10 game. Am I right!?
maybe its a stick on moustachio, like one of those fake ones from xmas crackers, so that when he needs a break from being mario, he can just take of the tash, and go from being super mario, to a regular joe and go about his day without getting hounded by fan boys wanting his autograph every time he leaves the house.
Who would've though that 40 plus years of gaming history would lead to Mario having individual hairs on his mustache (or just a heavily detailed one,)?
When most characters in the game make a sudden turn like kilton where he dose that jump he dose every time you see him their clothes shake a ton even just run in a circle with link and if that was a costume it would shake a ton and the original area you find him (skull lake) has unique flowers in the water exept to one other place the horse fairys fountain which is also a very mysterious place in the game and if I remember correctly has the same music as the kilton theme and he goes Around in a balloon which is odd I don't know about that and he can teleport into thin air like the lord of the mountain and can only appear at night like the lord of the mountain that's as far as I can go without connecting other Zelda games and just keeping it within breath of the wild because we don't know where it is on the timeline
He has quite a few hairs in that mighty moustache. Maybe too many... *~squints~* That's not just facial hair, he's got nose hairs growing into that thing!
Now, can we get a video on Eggman's Magnificent facial hair? (seriously it's like a foot long on each side, is it even possible for a stache to grow that far and defy gravity like his?)
I shaved my mustache.
Good
RIP Lockstin's mustache. May it capture many drops of milk in mustache heaven.
Lockstin & Gnoggin its better this way, it looked sickly and malnourished.
Lockstin & Gnoggin ok
Lockstin & Gnoggin I had a pretty large beard at the age of 14 and I am just very hairy in general..... oddly I barely have a mustache though.
Luigi canonically has the better Moustache though. His Moustache-stat is naturally higher than Mario's in M&L.
@SM G6 It's fine, mistakes happen
Well to be fair Luigi has better stats than Mario overall. Like running faster and jumping higher
He still would even if it weren't canon, he's still got the better stache, SERIOUSLY IT'S SO WELL TRIMMED, I NEED A MUSTACHE LIKE THAT AAAAAA- ﹰWalugi's stache is also nice, like how do you keep such a good MUSTACHE like that--
I thought there was going to be a dark origin to the moustache... Then I remembered this isn't a game theory video.
Leinadlink Ikr
Well, they realy do not take eachother anything there, ultimate pokemon theory . . . I love their overdramatic tendencies ^^
I think that was deemed evidence for why mario is a communist.
'When you make a mascot for your games it's best not to change them too drastically'
Sega, take notes here
Lol
True he didn’t have too many changes,. Until Sonic Boom
Ohh,.. ok I didn’t know that, still don’t like Boom tho
Namco and Capcom change pacman and megaman change

Walis Nt Ki
I want to know how his boots are always so shiny despite him adventuring and fighting all day.
+President Haltmann Saddle soap and oil, my friend. He probably keeps a tiny, tiny handcloth in those tiny, tiny pockets.
All that block punching made his hand muscles hypertrophy over the years. He needs to get himself a new, freshly tailored pair of overalls.
So I just watched a thirteen minute video on mustaches....
Nice
If Mario's moustache is supposed to be handlebar, what the hell is Wario's?
The Great Mizuti pointy
Can't argue with that
I think it's also a handlebar, albeit one for stereotypically evil folks.
Waluigi's mustache is really long Nose hair strung together...
...dat's gross
Jackimations Not really.
But what if his mustache is actually an alien parasite that is possessing him?
Edit: Senpai noticed me
Horricule that would be horrifying. and fascinating
Maybe it's one of those mustache critters from KND. O.o
What are you, MatPat?
like his hat
TheBatPanda maybe

9:47 "Well I guess if you shave Mario's mustache *he is terrifying*
😂😂😂
Mario's mustache isn't perfect, that would be Luigi's.
The Arceus Nova Cough cough Eggman Cough
The Arceus Nova
Mine is perfect
No, no, no, no........
WALUIGI NUMBER ONE
The real discourse
I think they both look pretty good
I can grow a crazy mustache, but my head hair is pretty plain. Count your blessings.
7:00 I love how Tezuca explains it in 4 words, and Miamoto goes into a whole paragraph of detail.
Next can you explain Link's Lttp sprite. I don't understand the pink.
let's like this so Gnoggin can see this because tbh I'm pretty curious too
I believe it was because blond hair clashed with the scenery or something along those lines. Either that or this Link was going through his emo phase.
Tomsk Bromley Wasn't link still officially brown haired then? He wasn't blonde till Oot
actually the pink was due to a glitch that occurred when transferring the game from japanese to english. in the Japanese Lttp his hair is brown like it should be, from what i understand. they couldn't fix the glitch in the coding without causing a lot more problems for themselves, thus link was left pink
SprFlamyRainWing Yes
Mario without his 'stache makes him look like Bob The Builder.
I had forgotten about this channel. UA-cam did me a service today. Glad to be back!
Who is more famous Mario or his Mustache? Comment below
Edit:Gasp Senpai
Mario's hat
Mickey Mouse
Me
Charchu XY Yoshi
Charchu XY
Not you
Wait, if their landlord never came into their meeting, would he eventually be called Mario or not?
Still a better video than the one about how falling on chicken nuggets could save your life.
Only you could make a video about Mario's facial hair so entertaining and educational. God I love this channel.
Is it just me, or is Mario's 'stache looks like a croissant?
This was an extremely high-quality video, and I loved every moment, even the awkwardly-relatable comedy had some very good timing and didn't detract from the topic of the video, seeing as it was relevant to the video and the topic of this video isn't very serious. and the information used was presented well, Thank you for making this.
Gnoggin is in an overflow of videos right now. I love it. Keep it going.
"His face caterpillar." 10 seconds in and I'm already dead
Awesome video man glad to see your still a big UA-cam presence.it's been a while since I've watched UA-cam. :)
Keep growing that stache, eventually you'll get one like mario
I think you are the only person who could make a video about facial hair interesting
12:40
As soon as Lockstin says 'crescent' I think of the moons in Super Mario Oddessey. Could they be connected?
The secret of Mario's mustache? It's fake. A sticker. I'm sure you know this already, as in Odyssey, the mustache magically grows on the enemies Mario possesses. But, in fact, Mario takes out his backup sticker mustache from beneath his hat, and puts it on.
Don't feel bad Lockstin, you still have a better mustache and beard than baby-face MatPat
Wait, I thought the most iconic moustache was Hitlers.
Who?
Mario's is the scent most iconic moustache
O
Dangit.

Mr. Video?
Mario Ossan Video.
That should be his full name.
I'm so calling him that from now on.
oh god lockstins stache is now in my nightmares
You should have called it "The Marios Mustache masquerade!"
This is why my mustache grows in a pale color, my sideburns in red, and the rest of my hair in brown with occasional grays here and there.
Gray hairs and I'm not 30 yet. Been having them since I was 14.

As an Italian, I will say that I grew my first mustache at 12 years old. And now at 17 I have a mustache about the same size as Mario's.
I love your style of humor, dude. Gets me every time.
I'd like you to go in depth about Luigi's mustache growth next video.
Mario has the third most iconic mustache of all time. Right behind the monopoly man and twirly-evil mustache.
Pixel Mario without the stache looks like diddy kong trying to cosplay
When he describes Mario's mustache he makes it sound like a fancy restaurant dinner
There's going to be a Chowder reference in this one, isn't there
Qwyatt Winds Mung has the greatest mustache of all time
Radda radda.
Qwyatt Winds sad he didn't bring mung up he had the greatest mustache a kid could lay his eye upon
His mustache was so great that I grew a mustache at age 8 just by watching him
Qwyatt Winds Did anyone watch that show? Was it that amazing?
João P.
Well it has been about 10 years but from what I remember I liked the show as a kid.
That moment you recognize the background music, and can name the game it's from the instant it starts playing.
I didn't even register the background music until 3:30, then all I could think was the Super Mario Sunshine
Can we all agree that Waluigi has the best moustache in the Mushroom Kingdom?
While watching this video, a part of me was starting to think that this video was sponsored by the Dollar Shave Club or something else pertaining to facial hair. Looks like I was wrong.
Another possibility: his hair color started as a deep dark-brown nearing black and his mustache and eye brows are the least affected by age. (my former neighbor's grandpa had fully grayed-out hair (what was left of it anyway), but his eyebrows and beard were still a medium-to-dark brown as all of his hair had been.)
I literally just shaved, sat down, opened UA-cam, and this was the first in my recommended.
How much does UA-cam know about me?'
don't feel bad lockstin I've been trying to grow one for years and all I have to show for it is peach fuzz
When you said that Mario had scallops on his mustache, the next couple minutes sounded like you were describing some weird Italian dish
Hey, you can rock a mustache. Sure, it might take you a little longer to grow one out nice and full, but the look makes you look a little more rugged and stern. (It's biggest effect is how much it brings out your eyebrows, which really brings out your facial expressions!)

Hi, Josh! Metal beard!
"We felt bad for Mario...so we gave him brown hair." This is how creators should feel about their creations. I love hearing/reading about Miyamoto discussing his characters.
i cant believe i just watched a 13 min video about mario's mustache and liked it
I think Mario's Mustache has some type of magical power as in all the mario and luigi games, the "Stache" stat determines the chance of landing "Lucky" Hits
1920: I bet in the future we will have flying cars
2017: Why is Mario's mustache so perfect
For a second I thought this was some Game Theory on why Mario's Mustache was evil or something lol
0:18
*YES!!* I've always wondered why his mustache was black while the rest of his hair was brown!!
4:33 "The original Jumpman series"
You mean the original Donkey Kong series
Now I just want to know the backstory of Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi's mustaches as well. Oh well I'll shave that question for later.
0:26 Eggman: *Ahem* I'm right here you know, I can hear you
11:40 OH NO YOU SUMMONED CREATIONISTS
How?
Evolutionism and Creationism can work both together.
Oilspill ,Sign Language, and ,Squirrel Noises Tell that to the Creationists. Catholics (which I am so I should know) already know that evolution and the first chapter of Genesis coincide very well together.
Chaos89P They really don't but to each their own
Something something EVILUTION
I WISH my facial hair wouldn't grow so damn fast. I'm jealous of Lockstins slow facial hair growth.
Anyone else dissappointed that the T-Rex in mario odyssey doesn't have a moustache when you posses him?
Leinad link Actually, he does have mustache when possesing T-rex. In one of the artworks.
Not in the game tho
Leinad link You can see him having mustache as T-rex also in the e3 trailer at end of trailer
You can, even in the trailers, its just comedically tiny.
Leinadlink yes
"Why is his mustache a different color than his other hair?" I'VE BEEN TRYNA FIGURE IT OUT FOR HALF A DECADE!!!
Imma be honest with you man I'm pretty sure if like anybody else made this video i wouldn't of watched it, but you somehow made this video interesting and entertaining. Either A: you're using magic. Or B: you damn good at making stupid things damn interesting. Idk keep up the good work man.
I do remember the ability to upgrade and put stats into the mustache in mario luigi super saga
I'm really glad he doesn't say, regarding the description, that Mario might be bald.
Lockstin, if you're so jealous of Mario's mustache I think there are mustache transplants
From all the videos this is the most informational
I never knew I wanted this video until now.
Okay, I'll be honest. At very first, I thought this was gonna end up being some way out there theory about it being a parasite or something.... But that seems more up Matpat's alley. =V
But, turns out... this was actually a really good video discussing how Mario's design came to be. I knew some of these things already, but they were presented VERY well here. I wouldn't mind more videos like this one in the future.

Lockstin always makes great videos!
I wanna hear about luigis mustache now...
I like how that thumbnail has that smile flipped upside down
maybe its a stick on moustachio, like one of those fake ones from xmas crackers, so that when he needs a break from being mario, he can just take of the tash, and go from being super mario, to a regular joe and go about his day without getting hounded by fan boys wanting his autograph every time he leaves the house.
Mario - Jonathan Joestar
Peach - Erina
Bowser - Dio
Luigi - Speedwagon
Mario Mario's Bizarre Adventures
To be honest, I thought you were going to show us that Mario's mustache was the reason the newer games exist or something
But overall I thought it was pretty cool
I bet Mat Pat would have made the stretch that Mario dyes his hair. I also bet that He would have spent at least 10 min trying to prove this
Who would've though that 40 plus years of gaming history would lead to Mario having individual hairs on his mustache (or just a heavily detailed one,)?
The more I stare at mario the more i don't ever want to see his face again
"Mustaches can sometimes make people look scary"
Me remembering that time everyone screamed when they saw the Maths teacher.
Mario is not crash
Dani Hernández Gonzalez crazy noisy mushroom kingdom
Horricule was that Jojo op reference?
*_W O A H_*
WoAh!!!
Dani Hernández Gonzalez 🅱eautiful 😊
9:50
I'm dead twice over. XD
2:00 That pixel at the bottom of the mustache is actually from his arm.
i think games these days could stand to use the "looks over realism" approach more often
Lockstin can you do a theory on kilton from breath of the wilds species
He's a Hylian who's obsessed with monsters so he dresses to look like one. I thought that was pretty clear.
Tomsk Bromley really it was never mentioned in the game the more u know I guess
I just did way more research
He's a very messed up incarnation of Tingle or at least that's what I see him as in my head.l
interesting
now we need a video about the mustache for
Luigi, Wario and Waluigi
He has quite a few hairs in that mighty moustache. Maybe too many... *~squints~*
That's not just facial hair, he's got nose hairs growing into that thing!
Now, can we get a video on Eggman's Magnificent facial hair? (seriously it's like a foot long on each side, is it even possible for a stache to grow that far and defy gravity like his?)
Alright this is driving me nuts and I'm gonna kick myself in the face when I remember, but what's the music that start's playing at 4:42?
Super Mario RPG - Forest Maze
Huh, I thought that you were going to bring up that one scene in _Mario &Luigi: Paper Jam_ where Luigi's mustache was implied to fall off his face.
When I saw this video I wasn`t sure if it was a troll
Mario worked years for that mustache, no doubt.
I did a double-take on that last line. I initially heard "some are phallically blessed," which, well...
Huh, never noticed that Mario's hair and mustache are different colors.
Why did I watch this, I still loved the video it's just it's about a mustache with an anticlimactic ending
I'm 35% Scottish but I have a mustache like Mario...makes going to Comic-Con easy.
You waited 2 months to grow that? I didn't even notice you had any mustache at all!
Why are we talking about the mustache when we should talk about his GIANT MASSIVE NOSE
