I agree, Mikko was SO impressively cooperative! I have to admit, watching how calm she was while Mom mysotically found a solution-- I was a bit envious lol. (Not about the pumpkin seed up the nose part, 😂; but because Mikko stood so still and let Mom do what she needed to do. My daughter is 3 and on the spectrum. One of her biggest pet peeves is having her face touched for any reason at all. She finds it completely intolerable! Short of the hospital having to knock her out, I have no clue what we would do in this same situation.)
      Seller job, Mom!!

What is trauma to us as adults doesn't seem to be so bad for a child. God's special blessing for children. Listening to Mikko singing and rather relaxed while Precious describes the nightmare that she is experiencing is taken in stride by Mikko. I love Mikko's hair! Smart procedure performed by Precious using a suction device! This is a smart family that is in my prayers!

But everyday since then (she is 8 now) I find something new that proves to me God gave us the perfect daughter. And I felt that hug of relief!!!
So glad you didn't have to take her to the hospital. That was very quick and innovative thinking!🥰 My poor mom has to endure my oldest sister getting a pop bead stuck up her nose as a to toddler, me having to go to the hospital to in remove a piece of a gum eraser stuck in my ear and again after swallowing a straight pin I was sucking up through a straw as a trick at age 5...DON'T ASK!!! God was TRULY with me!! 😅

Good job Mikko and Mommy. Until you were able to fix that pumpkin 🎃 seed. I was hoping and praying for a good resolve.
It's brought back memories of my own Momma telling us children not to swallow watermelon 🍉 seeds. And never put anything in our ears and nose. Simple things that bring up the memories.
Now no more seeds in the nose Mikko. We don't want to see Mommy stressed or crying. And we don't want to miss you too.
You are too precious to not see you growing up. because only once in a while do we get to see precious princesses

Tears can have a variety of causes. Everyone's emotional landscape is different, and it's unfair to judge someone coming from a place of empathy. Maybe the person was just deeply moved by this emotional moment of a dedicated, loving mother finding a solution to a potentially serious problem. Neurodivergent kids often find healthcare facilities traumatizing, so even if an issue isn't medically difficult to resolve, parents are understandably anxious about the prospect of taking their child to urgent care or er. @Jessieisunderated

So glad baby girl handled that so well! Many years ago, my niece had a similar experience when she was about three years old. She had gotten ahold of a macrame bead and shoved it up her nose and it was wedged in there tightly. My SIL took her to the doctor and no kidding, he looked straight through the bead and said there was nothing in her nose! My SIL was furious, brought her to my mom and she and my niece were crying like crazy. My mom took a look inside the baby’s nose, went and got a crochet hook and popped that sucker right out! SIL took that baby and that bead and went back to show the doctor he screwed up. The bead was a light red color so I think he was fooled into thinking it was just an inflamed nostril. All I know was that day, a doctor got showed up by a grandma with a crochet hook!😂

My daughter did this…several times. Once it was a pea sized bead, but the second time was awful! She sucked her thumb and played with her silky pillow at nap time. But I didn’t realize she had dug a hole in the pillow and was pushing fiberfill up her nose. It must have been happening over some time, bc we took her to ER when she had blood coming out of one nostril. They pulled reams of fiberfill out of her little nose, bloody and brown and yucky. They estimated 6-7 feet of fiberfill! It had impacted within her sinuses and as a result had to be on antibiotics for prolonged period to clear the chronic sinusitis. BTW she was about 9 months old, so couldn’t tell us if it had hurt, or that she couldn’t nose breath!

My daughter is 5 now and she is also on the spectrum. A few months ago she put two hair beads in her nose while I was at work and had to go to the hospital. We didn't even know it was two in there until the doctor pulled out the first and saw the second one was still in and it was deep. Took awhile to get that one out. Her nose was runny, sore and swollen for a few days but she was fine after that. It is a very scary situation to be in. My daughter also doesn't know how to blow out of her nose and you could tell her breathing was uncomfortable for her. So yes very scary. Glad Mikko is good and that you didn't have to my that trip to the ER stay safe all of you

I am pleasantly surprised that Mikko was not freaking out!🎉 I'm so glad she was calm as you were helping her. I'm also glad that you didn't freak out, you know, because it could have been a lot worse from you to her, and who knows what that could have triggered. 😮 Well done all around!😊

Oh mama I feel your pain! I have an 8 year old son who is autistic and I’ve never dealt with things going up the nose before, not even with his 13 year old sister until a week ago when my son decided to stick the end of an ear bud up his nose 🤦🏻‍♀️. I didn’t realize he pulled it off one of mine and sure enough came up to me and kept saying “booger”. I thought he had a hard booger and I looked up there and saw it. Thankfully I was able to get it out with tweezers but omg the panic I felt at first and also thinking I may had to have taken him to the ER. I wanted to share my story with you. Thank you for sharing your lives with us ❤️

I do not have an autistic child, My friend's nephew is and his behavior is unpredictable at times. She is doing a good job with him, though difficult at times. I know God has blessed you for this journey and what a blessing to see her progress. May God continue to bless you and Miko during this journey.

Omg Mikko reminds me of my 15 yo Cadence soo much! They resemble each other when she was this age and even as babies, same curly hair and everything, it’s uncanny! Cadie is also on the spectrum too❤ It’s so cool to see your precious girl and kind of relive some of these experiences again.

When my son was four he put a pebble in his ear. The ER was traumatic. Eventually, they gave up and referred us to an ENT. The ENT doctor took one look and decided on a sedated outpatient removal. Believe me I felt your fear. A couple of years later he swallowed a toy key. 🥴

Good bless my little gf Mikko for being very patient to let you do what you did to suck it out of her nose too which she was a big trooper for allowing you to do so too so kudos too baby girl Mikko and you for not trying to really bug out which you did a little bit bcuz who wouldn’t bcuz I know I will bcuz my husband was outside at night and a moth flew inside his ear and he was flipping and bugging out bcuz of the feeling and the buzz sound so when we went to the emergency room the only thing that the nurse did was took some water with a little bit of alcohol and flushed it out and she said that’s all we had to do at home but he was panicking like crazy I said there’s no way he’s going to let me do it but that was our little episode that happened like 4yrs ago but have a bless one and god bless your family from me and my family

Putting anything up her nose could push it farther up. Put your finger on the side of her nose that is clear and have her blow her nose as hard as she can and it will pop right out. Mom of three, grand momma of two and I worked in the clinic of an elementary school, before they required nurses. I hope it helps for any future mishaps. You’re doing a great job Mom! ❤

Good on you, mama! Years ago I was working with a resident in the ER and we had a similar situation with a bead. The child was neurotypical (AFAIK) but about the same age, and when the doctor said blow, the child, of course, sniffed, and the bead disappeared. No one was happy then; we had to call in the peds ENT doc.

Glad she's ok!🤩 Glad YOU are ok too - I know it was a high stress situation.😊 Been there! My then 3 year old daughter put a hair bead in her nose too! At the hospital I was so stressed but she was so calm. The ER ped staff were great. With a long hook they retrieved the hair bead and it was over in 30 seconds.😏 I didn't get a valium but we both went home for a good nights sleep.☺
