Government is mandating these companies find alternatives to the internal combustion engine ( ICE ). Investing millions. But ultimately, it's the consumer that will decide. Will effect all aspects of the Automotive and heavy duty truck market.
The worst thing is that affordability is never stressed because this is the new gilded age. How is the world supposed to get to a better place if things are priced out for 95% of people out there? And thats the brick wall we are going up against is heavy cars with very heavy batteries that are too scarce to make global impact. Its antithetical to sustainability, but then again burning petrol is not so good either...😢 In conclusion I think we should be squeezing out greater efficiency and lighter vehicles, I mean like go all-weather go karts and rotary engines. Think F1 current hybrid.
They could give me the electric conversion and I wouldn't put it in a Yugo. The only way electric cars will be accepted is to make a totally redesigned car. Something like tandem seating where they take up half the road and you can park two in a one car space. Unless you can double the number of cars in cities for the same space......... they make no sense.
Electric cars are really coal powered since most of the electricity in the US is generated from coal powered plants. My 1970 Corvette is solar powered. All of the fuel I use comes from dead dinosaurs and ancient vegetation that grew from energy obtained from the sun. Therefore I can honestly say that my gasoline powered Corvette is truly solar powered.
Thanks for posting. I always enjoy the shorter videos. Get to see more variety rather than watching the one video for half or full hour, unless it's a tranny rebuild 🙂. I agree with you on spending so much money on a conversion. I don't know why people worry about ICE in their classic cars. These aren't daily drivers and the savings just isn't worth the investment and it also devalues the car. Who want's to hear a Jag whining down the road ? Looking forward to the next video. Best Regards - Mike
Electric motor cars have been around for a long time, but they're still a novelty, it seems. As we have just seen, major manufacturers are scaling EV production back. One day though EVs will be common place, just not now.
Yeah, Fossil fuel is under attack right now. Electric is fine but the green push is political I believe. It's not logical to push gas power out so fast
trains have been diesel/electric for a long time because it fits the application. WWII submarines were also diesel/electric - again, the application fits hmmm what about diesel/electric for passenger cars?? i've seen some functional one-offs the push for pure electric battery motive power for production passenger cars is not based upon sound engineering judgement given the state of things - it is an obsession. if we must go all electric we should develop mobile fuel cell technology - the waste product is water! i can envision a future where solar power splits water molecules into hydrogen & oxygen for storage, which a fuel cell can recombine on demand to produce electricity. this method is now being used in some applications - such as the now defunct space shuttle Auxiliary Power Units. electric power for the shuttle and drinking water for the occupants. Engineers Rule.🖖

I'm not into the electric future give me old school .

Sad so many people are buying into the rich mans toys and thinking they're the future.
70k is hilarious. lol..
I guess they don't ever plan on selling any
ENJOY ,HOPE THE WX IS GREAT..GREAT JOB
I totally agree with you. Thanks for your insight.
Thanks for posting. I'm in agreement with you. It makes no sense to convert a classic to electric.

5 hrs is as good as a tesla and probably better than the distance it could go with a v12 and std gas tank but that's a maximum electric still sucks
Go rent a Tesla and step on the pedal. It will change your mind
@@calholli Jump in a real ice car that runs 9s or faster and nothing like the sound of a V8
@@speedfreak1161 That doesn't mean that electric sucks though.. It's different, but it still kicks azz
Those bastards
Thanks for the update. The whole electric 'concept' has run it's course.

😂🤣 Hell no
I would love to see some smart ass put an LS in a tesla.
Already been done. I believe rich rebuilds on youtube did
Thank you, I look for it!
Rich Rebuilds.. It's called "ICE-T"
ICE for 'internal combustion engine' and
T for Tesla
It's a pretty sweet build. He has several videos on it.

In a few years they'll be as good as a paper weight!
