I absolutely love the idea about a wine window. I own a small winery, a small tasting room actually the air condition unit that was built in the wall broke. I have to take it out and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do is replace it with the Wine window even though I’m here in Texas. I have a little Italy with me. Thank you so much for the idea.
Ah great question! It is connected to the lower part of the house, so where the pantry is now. But don’t worry, I only send Pierre up that ladder - I’m certain of that ladder being my death.
LOL, the entire world commented on how clever and intelligent the Italians were to come up with a take out window during the pandemic😂 never mind the billions of take out windows throughout the world. Oh the ego!😂
Except they weren't created FOR a pandemic, they were created to cut out the middlemen and wine mark up prices. They just happened to find a second use during plagues and pandemics.
It was not meant to be an arrogant statement however considering the centuries old age of the now repurposed wine windows they were probably some of the first take out windows in the world…
What a great tour!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting. What a lovely way to see Firenze.
Thank you Frances!
Thank you for such an informative episode with Matteo Faglia, I learned so much! Also looking forward to reading Robbin Gheesling's book.
Happy you liked it Fosca 🥰

Oh what fun. Make sure to send a picture when you’re done!
Love the video, Rebecca! I have always wondered about the wine window at Campo Sasso. Why do you have to climb a ladder inside to get to it?

this guy clearly does not live in central Florence - otherwise he wouldn't be so enthusiasic about drunk tourists...
Don’t think he was referring to drunk tourists (who would be drunk with our without wine windows)
