Extreme weather....it's nothing new....I grew up with storms, snow 3ft deep, freezing weather... you name it we had it and we didn't hide in the basement and stay off work because we had a dusting of snow.
Sadly people get so accustomed to bad weather they can't see the dangers anymore. It's the signs of last days people, read the gospel account. Last days begun in 1914, we are almost near the end of all bad weather and people!
Up here in NW Ontario, schools seldom close for snow days unless things are really knarly. School busses will be cancelled (as they should due to liability) but kids that make it to school get taught. My kids' elementary school is about 250m in a straight line from our house, so they can walk most of the time. On really bad days, I wouldn't even bother clearing off my truck, I'd pull the cover off of my snowmobile and run it to the front of the house and load em up. 50 yards up the sidewalk, 100 yards up the walking path between the houses, with one road crossing, then another 150 yard RIP through the playground and drop them at the back door. Now that they are teenagers and into high school about 1km away, sometimes it takes 2 round trips since there are three of them LOL. I have a 🎻 playing for my UK Cousins. Be smart. If you are not confident enough or don't have the proper snow tires on your vehicle, then DON"T DRIVE. You will just cause more problems for the Police and Ambulance services.
Tell them to call off the upcoming, close to 1m dump on the north shore of Lake Superior over the weekend. Just kidding. We don't even bother to name 'storms' smaller then Hurricanes. I would ask the local MET office to name this little windstorm "Storm Shirleyl" but I'd get laughed out of the room, the the kids and I will just refer to 'Shirley' when we are out shovelling this weekend. 😘 My repeated response to them will be, "Don't call me Shirley."
Im here in Bristol, and we have just had an emergency alert for the area, for severe winds, danger to life!!😮 i have to travel to bloody work at 7am!!😖
True, you can't go risking your life for a job! When you are injured, it will take longer to recover and get back to work. Worse yet you could die, going out in that vicious weather.
@@AnotherPointOfView944 lol I live in Llanelli, if my bin doesn't win first place tonight he's gone and the next one will have Michelin tyres on it with a spoiler 😂
This is how a weather forecast should be given, not putting the weather forcaster life in danger just to report the severity of the weather!

They have a weather modification system fully up and running in Pembrokeshire-coincidence?
No, it's your imagination again. How's your aluminium hat fairing at the moment?
@@AnotherPointOfView944 I think it blew away in the wind and the paranoid thoughts are getting back in again ahaha
Of course. It only works because the earth is flat.

Bruh, I don't know what kind of job you do, but a job isn't worth your life 🙏
If it gets bad, call off and live to fight another day.

Ok, you live in sunny London, but stop playing it down. Some people in the West Country and Wales will be very badly affected.
