- Wearing my Seiko SLA051 Uemura, I explain how the Uemura has saved me so much money and I discuss my admiration but disagreement with the writer Derek Thompson of The Atlantic. I also am looking for a companion documentary for Ronnie Coleman: The King.
“This expensive mechanical watch saved me so much money!”
-Every Watch Addict
Perfect.
Hahaha
I like how you move from watches to a critique of an essay in The Atlantic. ! Your channel is one of the more literary watch collecting channels out there.
What a beauty 🥰. Saw the blue one today and boy so tempted 😂
If you consider the price of the SLA051 as a depreciated cost spread out over the time you've owned it, it becomes even cheaper! Some might even say, purchasing a SLA051 is one of the most fiscally responsible decisions a person can make!
Jeff , you have been pumping out some videos lately, keep up the good work
Dexter "the blade" Jackson has 29 mens bodybuilding titles, the most in history. He competed until he was 51 years old and just recently retired in 2020. I'd say he was successful for sure and he is still going strong.
Me too. It is very understated. No need to get a Tudor Pelagos now.
Glad to have found your channel. Subscribed !
Hi, the ‘King Crimson at 50’ documentary kind of touches on that subject from the perspective of ex members, current members, and of course notorious band leader Robert Fripp. Recommended.
The new tudor black bay is sweet....I'm getting one .
The documentary Bigger Stronger Faster has a similar message. It’s about a young man wanting to compete professionally in body building while trying to understand what drives him to want to be a professional body builder in the first place.
Thanks
Another great upload McMahon! And on the topic of Ronnie, YEAH BUDDY! LIGHT WEIGHT BABY!
I totally get your watches math logic , it’s impeccable haha
Agree. The Uemura is an excellent watch with finishing and a movement far better than the 6R Seikos. The 051 and 047MM are on my wish list…
Suscribed bodybuilder and Watch hobbist Also in the quest for greatness I found the last part of your video great!!
Nice. Check out the documentary, “The Alpinist”! Fits your theme dramatically. Love my Uemuras; they did save me from the Landmaster (which I bought then returned!), but have given in to siren call of a grail nonetheless.
Thank you
Almost similar logic regarding Seiko's 200M GMT Divers.
Bought SPB299 late 2022 for retail, and couldn't bring myself to pay that much more for that blue 6R GMT diver.
Went with a Darth Tuna despite it costing more.
Also, for what this SLA costs,im quite shocked it doesn't come with the "ratchet clasp"
I present to you the The Collection Optimization and Savings Leverage Instrument (tm), or COSLI:
"I have saved money by finally getting a pre-ceramic Rolex Submariner because now some of the watches in my collection are redundant. Now I can sell these redundant watches and use the money on a new Zenith, which in fact saves money."
Documentary suggestion: Anything on Lance Armstrong
Thanks
The King of Kong documentary
The Conor McGregor documentary ‘Notorious’ is very good - his work ethic is on another level
Thanks
What rubber strap are u using?
Divecore with fat spring bars
@@JeffreyMcMahon thank you.
Why would I buy any other watch when I can count steps and stay healthy with my GBX100? I don't need that GW9400.
You are wiser than most of us
GBX100 is also understated - love to look at the time of sunrise and sunset screen.
Please that rainbow bag's gotta go.
Oh brother...
Ditto. I stopped watching after a minute when I saw the rainbow bag.
