Yep it's broken, you've done the right thing by strapping it to the other toe. Elevate it as much as possible will help swelling subside but that will take a while. Yes normal with broken toe to have a lovely dark bruising on top of foot.
Even put foot in cool water if there's such a thing in Portugal, give it some relief from swelling.
Like the personalized colours on your bike. Like you was not a fan of red. Love from New Zealand.

As a longtime fan of this channel who's watched almost every video (and quite a few videos produced via the host's relatives), I'd rather my first post to have been naught but sunshine and rainbows. So, that typed...
I look forward to and appreciate your videos. I've no idea how or why I came across your channel, but am glad that I did. The first video I watched was a home renovation timelapse - and may have been on your extended family's channel. The timing must've been spot on, because it stuck.
Watching your videos has been a salve for cloudy times and helped motivate me (as they have others). You're only a little older than I am and, from what you've shared, our lives have parallels (it's an odd series of coincidences) - minus my having a sibling I'm close to in another country and making a large change. I've been in a bit of a fog (this is the epitome of understatements) for several years regarding, well, everything. It's baffling, as who I am today is a complete left turn from the entirety of the rest of my life. Now back to rainbows...
I hope this post finds you well. Thank you for indirectly inspiring me and bringing positivity and some Portuguese sunlight into my life. My hope is that this inspiration and motivation continues and leads to my "fog" clearing. All the best!
Aside: Toes can be broken - and I advise anyone experiencing this issue to ensure they're set properly. If broken toes aren't addressed and heal improperly, it can limit your mobility, cause lifelong annoyance/pain and potentially become a welcome mat for other issues (yes, I'm aware this is common sense - all apologies). If a toe or [insert favorite bone parts here] heals improperly, well, the path to fixing it may not be a happy stroll on a lovely Portugal beach. Take care of yourselves, everyone!
This is a really strange one-off post for me. I don't do this, but here we are.
Edit: One of the aspects of the content you produce that I appreciate is how relatable, honest and genuine you come across as. You've also become adept at editing, which doesn't hurt. Ha. Oh, and I love dogs. Mine say, "hi." Hope you feel better.
Also, the bike is looking nice. I look forward to seeing how it evolves. I'm looking at a new one myself (a type I've never owned suited for longer distances and surviving off the beaten path).

Here's to the hope that the "fog" continues to clear and you continue to get better. You are absolutely correct when saying Andy provides inspiration and motivation. Sometimes we have to be reminded that not everything has to be done in one day but rather take each day one by one and enjoy the journey. Best wishes to you and of course all the best to Andy and the boys!

Yep, toes do break. I broke a couple of them in the past. Not much they can do about it. Tying them together like you did, is indeed the best option. And what the nurse in the comments said: take some ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation. Good luck.

I've broken my toes more than once. There is nothing you can do about it, but if it's pointing in a completely different direction, you might need a doctor to straighten the joint. I guess it depends on whether your foot hurts in your boots. Elevate your foot and ice.
Suggestion: double the number of plug sockets. It never fails that you'll want more than you've got. Better to have them and not need them.
Take care of your poor foot. I'm sorry you're in pain. If the ice bag doesn't help, fill a bowl with some water and load it with ice. Stick the whole foot in. 👍

    Hi Andrew
We like watching you being real and authentic. Great work in the detailing. Agree with previous comments.
As for your toe, it could be dislocated. My mother had a similar incident many years ago. She didn't go to the doctor for 2 weeks until she couldn't bear the pain any longer. She had an Xray done and the toe had healed but in the wrong position. The Dr had to break her toe and reset it. She was grateful that it healed properly and is pain free. So better get your foot sorted out by professionals. They know best.

Hey Andrew, Thxs for another great video - clips. edits, music, storyline flowed like butter :) Heads up about your toe - recommend you get an x-ray to see what's broken (or dislocated) esp as you may have fractured your toe ray (bones inside the flesh of your foot -- the area that's swelling up). I injured mine by stomping on a shovel too vigorously at a weird angle, while in flipflops) and then ignored it for 11 days before getting it checked; Doc scolded me as it could have resulted in surgery and 3 months to heal. However it's healing up great now, here's the key: a sturdy, well-fitting sandal with a flat, very stiff sole and enough front "bumper" to protect the toe from getting bumped. Elevate and rest whenever it hurts (a lot in the first 10 days). I know it's a hassle but having healthy feet and good mobility to hold you up your whole life is entirely important, so don't wait. You are worth it! Also, nice bike :) Cheers, Lee

Great job on the bike! The new color scheme on the bike reminds me of an elegant wasp, or maybe hornet.
I'll join the chorus of those telling you to go see a doctor & get that toe x-rayed. You got lucky with your wrist: sometime there are things they can do; and when that happens, you really need those things. If the toe starts to heal with the bones misaligned, they'll have to re-break and reset it- & the sooner they do that, the less time (& pain) it'll take to heal completely.

You should elevate your foot as much as possible and cool with ice pack of some sort to reduce the swelling.
It has been 44c - 46c most of June and July where I live. You have to relax, drink plenty of fluid and eat light meals. The heat does make injuries swell more.

Bike looks good, toe not so much! I broke my toe once by jamming it into the corner of a brick planter. My friend who is an ER nurse said to do just what you did. She said they don’t do anything much for toes in the ER but tape them together for support. If, however, you’ve broken a bone further up in your foot, you do want to make sure that heals properly or you could have long term issues. Be safe!

With the fruit trees - see if you can get some carpet off cuts and put them round the base of the trees (avoiding touching the trunk) and soak the carpet. Orange trees have very shallow roots and they are obviously getting fried. Limes are much harder to grow in hot dry climates than oranges. I am in Perth western Australia where the climate is pretty well identical to you in Portugal and I struggled to get limes through the summer - tree 3 made it, but it was hard work

If you've used 1k lacquer on your tank, be careful not to get fuel spilled onto it as it'll mark it. Looks good so far, but looking forward to seeing it when it's complete. Hope your toe gets better soon 🤕👍

Truly loving your colour choices on the bike!! Yes, you can break toes. Usually there's not much to do about it, but the swelling is concerning. Might be an idea to prop your foot up a few times next day or so, see how things are looking? Sorry you fell, but so glad it wasn't worse!! Hope you're feeling much better soon :)

Hi there good friend, it will take about ten days for the toe to knit strongly. Wearing those plastic shoes limits the swelling to the ankle region. Over night the swelling will distribute naturally. You will need an elastic type BandAid that comes on a small roll here in USA. Cheers!

Go get that all looked at by a professional. You rely on your physical fitness so take care of you as a priority. If it means down time. So be it. Let's do a vlog about about how the well is doing. Taking the dogs for a we all on your bike, coffee at the local cafe, visiting your brother, going to the beach, touristy place of interest. Anything! And stay of the foot!

Quality Andy😊 I Never thought I’d see the day when someone changed anything from Ferrari Red to Beige,,,👍
Beige is the new Black😳🤗👍👍,,,,,,,,,, And it does look way, way better👍👍
I was 63 on Friday 19th and am working on a Lead roof on a church ,,,,,,, under a temporary corrugated steel roof with reinforced plastic around the scaffold😢
It’s literally like being in an oven ,,,,,,so I feel your pain!!!
It’s 10 degrees less here in Deer ol’ Blighty but it’s never pleasant doing ANY BUILDING WORK when it gets above 25C
So take it easy,,,,,,,, and have an extra 10 mins on the beach🎉😊

Most likely dislocated bone in your toe. Same happened to me but i corrected it IMMEDIATELY before the pain set in.

A great attitude in place now. Take it easy, lots of motorcycling to the beach and dog time.

Ah .. I did much the same… jogged down the garden path and landed on a garden hose connector … snapped the little toe bone… 6 weeks later and hospital visits… I’m walking again… moral of the story… do it right or keep kidding yur self….😊

Wow that foot look very painful, I hope it gets better soon. I bet it is roasting where you are. It’s been in the 90’s in New England and it has been rough. I can’t imagine how hot it is.

Broke my toe 2 days before my wedding 53 years ago and spent my honeymoon in flip flops LOL. You’re right, they’ll can’t do anything about a broken toe … mine’s still crooked. But I would keep an eye on the rest of your foot for any possible broken bones.

Oh Andrew! 😖😫 I know that pain so well. Looks like for sure you broke that toe! Take it from a girl who severely sprained and ankle and broke several toes, there is nothing they will do for you except tape them to another toe like you did, elevate and ice it. After a few weeks, when it finally has mended some, you have to be cautious because it will take several months before it begins to feel normal again. The pain will still be there but less intense. Sending you a 🤗

Hi Andy, I'm sorry to hear about the foot injury 😬 Please do us a favor... go to the hospital (I know it's boring🙄, but it's better😉) there they will do an x-ray, to detect/locate the(s) fracture(s), and immobilize the finger(s) in the correct position 🤗
