- @realalgarveliving This is so exciting repairing the Well and finally seeing the rings installed. The Well is a free source of water, which as we all know, vital if you plan on growing food. I may never be completely off grid but being self sufficient (as much as possible) is good for the soul. I’ve had many people ask me ‘why bother’, ‘waste of my time and energy’, surely you can just get a bore hole. Granted, bore holes are invisible and probably the best option. However, bore holes are ‘well’ 😉 out of my price range and (equally important), the Camera are restricting them so I would probably have to beg. The satisfaction of rebuilding and bringing this back to life is part of my journey and a reward I can be proud of. Sweat and hard work will be rewarded. I might not do things in the order or way some might agree with, but that’s the beauty of calling your own shots and learning as you roll along on this journey. Positive, healthy and happy, that’s ALL that matters. Thank you for watching, leaving lovely comments and supporting my channel.

For those concerned for my safety, thank you but please don’t worry. Camera angles make it look more dramatic. I would never do anything I’m not totally comfortable with or if I was in any doubt of my safety. And please (as one person has already made me feel responsible for anyone falling down a well), DON’T COPY! I’m not teaching or showing anyone how to do anything. I’m just documenting my journey 🙏😎😂👍 if anyone does fall down a well, please don’t blame me. The well, will be covered when I’ve built the raised stone wall around it. But if someone does fall down in the meantime, that’s trespassing 🤣😎👍 enjoy the video, stay positive and jolly 😎👍😘

Yes. But being Portuguese and contractor in Ontario Canada that was exactly what I expected. They both made A great team. Well done. And having a well with so much water was definitely a blessing. I had a very bad experience with a well years ago. So happy to see how lucky this Gentleman was. Congrats.

You can tell by the way the crane driver was handling those rocks and the fill-in that he's done this sort of work before. 😉 What a relief the job has been accomplished. Congratulations. A fantastic job.

Wow! All in all that was a tremendous job from the very beginning! Not many people would have tried and succeeded, so well done Andy! Seeing you in the bottom of the well, you looked like a guy in a leaking boat, bailing out water to try to keep afloat! Looks like hip waders were needed as the water level kept rising; your outdoor shower must've felt good after that. Seems like a successful well for your irrigation needs.

Very "uplifting" to see the Dance of the Excavator and the near completion of your well. I was amazed by how the water levels just kept rising. Methinks you're going to have a great source for your (I imagine) plantings. Good show!
How brilliant does the well look now...he worked very hard didnt he...so your vision of what you thought it shld look like has come to fruition...I am delighted for you...how cool he sorted gaps under gates as well...that saves you the worry of dogs escaping...

Watched the video of the rings going in on the well. What a talented man running the digger. It was like a ballet watching him create the well. Having seen the finished product,I am amazed at how beautiful this area is now. Good for you for saving such a mess. A zen spot for sure. ❤️🇨🇦

You are quite fortunate to have such a reliable well on your property. Its good you are insuring that it is well maintained by repairing its structure. Whomever is fortunate enough to own the property after you will be very thankful for the care you have given it and the improvements you are making to it. I am so impressed in that such a short time the well filled to the top of the fourth ring! Awesome and what a great idea to have him regrade the drive at the gates to have less of a gap available for Will to wiggle through. Peace of mind that the dogs will be safe on the property is priceless.

I hate people who make 'you should have done' comments, ..........but I've found if you dump a load of medium sized gravel or stones in the well before you try to set the first ring, it makes leveling up so much easier, .......and the casing is better grounded against subsidence. Looks great !

I’m delighted the rings have arrived, you have waited so patiently for them . Looking forward to watching this, I guess there will be a bit of back filling involved, and the circumference of the wall might not be anything close to the size of the crater.

Yes, with everything I do there will be a start to finish video. In this case, after the stone wall. I’ve also created a play list so each topic I do will be easier to find. All the well stuff to date is in its own play list. 👍
