That's one of my favorite songs ever. Paralamas was a phenomenon, and Herbert used to talk about his lacking voice. I love it the way it is though! And the way he was able to come back after the plane crash, boy, it was amazing.
Os Paralamas Do Sucesso (Band) - Lanterna Dos Afogados (Song) Background: Herbert Vianna (Singer)is/was an airplane hobbyist pilot....He had a Trike ( small airplane). According to some people he would rather pilot (drive) his own aircraft to go to nearby places instead of using commercial airlines. Unfortunatelly he had an accident in 200, in which his wife died. He managed not only to survive, and after all the burden of rehab, he made his return to the stages, and started all over, but now in a wheelchair. So you should check his material (songs) before and after the airplane accident (2001). He was very energetic before the airplane accident in his songs, but still is a wonderful band... Of course, it's noticeable the difference in his voice before and after the accident. You probably know better than anyone how hard must be to sing in a seated position, not being able to fully extend your lungs etc. Herbert Vianna still rocks for not giving up, even after such a tragedy, is a great example of resilience and passion for music. ua-cam.com/video/aaRkzxitgv8/v-deo.html
João Barone, drummer, was my English teacher (many people don't know that) and the band started their career in the neighborhood of my school (Seropédica, RJ - many people don't know that, too), rehearsing in a nearby house and playing in the 'Clube Social da Ecologia', next to that school. When classes ended, we would pass by the house and listen to the rehearsals. I was at some of the first concerts.

The big question about Paralamas and this song is the emotional memory they means for us... Its so special and so important that touch us somewhere here inside. For a firts reaction to someone who don`t know they and dont have this "emotional link" i would recomend the studio version.
On February 4, 2001, Herbert suffered an air accident in Mangaratiba, RJ, when the ultralight he piloted crashed into the sea, after an attempt to perform a loop. Herbert was accompanied by his wife Lucy, who died in the accident. [1] The musician was hospitalized for 44 days, part of them in a coma and became paraplegic, in addition to partially losing his memory. The artist filed a lawsuit against the aircraft manufacturer, alleging that there was a manufacturing fault in the tail of the ultralight. The Aeronautical Technological Institute (ITA) examined an aircraft from the same manufacturer, similar to the one Herbert piloted, and confirmed that the material used in the tail suffered degradation when exposed to a temperature above 40 ° C. The company admitted the failure and offered an indemnity of R $ 400 thousand
Yessss!! You need to react to Almir Sater. I completly different style of brazilian music.. connect to the Pantanal area. He is an amazing componser and guitar player too.
"The name "Lanterna dos Afogados" comes from a chapter in the book “Jubiabá”, by Jorge Amado. The chapter portrays the Cais do Porto bar, where fishermen's wives awaited their husbands with flashlights, to help them find the right path."
hello Frank when I saw this video I thought you would notice the vocalist's voice. he actually has a problem with his voice, due to an accident he suffered and left him paraplegic and in a coma this accident also claimed his wife's life. they were on a paragliding tour when they hear this fatality ( sorry my ingles)
Frank, here goes some BRAZILIAN ROCK suggestions: RITA LEE - "Arrombou a Festa" (TV Tupi 1977) - (the queen of brazilian rock in the 70's, later she became more a pop singer in the 80's) RAUL SEIXAS - "Ouro de Tolo" - (the king of brazilian rock) LEGIÃO URBANA - "Faroeste Caboclo" or "Vento no Litoral" or "Metal Contra as Nuvens" - (considered by many the greatest brazilian rock band of all-time, the singer died of AIDS in 1996) PITTY - "Memórias" or "Admirável Chip Novo" - (one of the most proeminent brazilian rock singers from 2000's) CAZUZA - "O Tempo Não Para" or "Ideologia" - (one of the most iconic and controversial figure ob Brazil in the 80's, he died of AIDS in 1990) TITÃS - "Comida" (one of the greatest brazilian rock band from the 80's) SKANK - "Vou Deixar" or "Dois Rios" (great band from late 90's and 2000's, a lot influenced by ska and the MPB, like Milton Nascimento) CHARLIE BROWN JR. - "Só Por Uma Noite" or "Proibida Pra Mim" - (a very succesful band from late 90's and 2000's, the singer died of overdose in 2013) RPM - "Alvorada Voraz" (LIVE) - (great band from the 80's, a lot of new wave in their sound)
I don't know if you've noticed that he sings and plays while sitting in a wheelchair, he was in a airplane accident that fell into the sea and the firefighters rescued him almost lifeless and he had many after-effects, it took him a few years to get back to playing and singing again.

Fun facts (for non-Brasilians): They went to the first Rock in Rio (1985), and the vocal suffered an accident that made him become paraplegic. My favorite song is called "Meu Erro" and they played at that Rock in rio concert that i mencioned before.
Herbert Vianna is some kind of miracle for overcoming the plane crash, the loss of his wife and a big chunk of his brain (literally), and still being able to play Guitar and Sing along. Despite his Guitar playing still quite the same from before the crash, his voice is a little "off". But when you consider the Paralamas history as one of the greatest Brazilian Rock Bands of all time, you just can't deny that even with the Herbert limitations nowadays, he still rocking hard and soulfull.
Veja ele cantando antes do acidente!!!

Eu recebi a notificação do UA-cam e vim correndo assistir hahaha 👏🏼
Estou amando essas reações ♥️♥️♥️
That's one of my favorite songs ever. Paralamas was a phenomenon, and Herbert used to talk about his lacking voice. I love it the way it is though! And the way he was able to come back after the plane crash, boy, it was amazing.
Listen to their older songs: óculos and Vital e sua moto

Vital e sua Moto is THE SONG!
Background: Herbert Vianna (Singer)is/was an airplane hobbyist pilot....He had a Trike ( small airplane).

The singer Herbert Vianna is paraplegic by a avion chash
Best Brazilian band at all times.
Nice video, good reactions! Keep doing the good job!
There is a versión of this song in spanish and it's great too. You could listen it. And about the voice of the lead singer i think he had an accident. Listen the spanish versión please..!!!
O Herbert Viana e.
The vocals of studio version is so much better. But instrumentals is great in both versions.
Also I really like to watch your brazilian songs reacts. Every time I watch, I realize how good is the music of my country
I have already been to 11 shows of "Paralamas Do Sucesso". They were the 11 best shows of my life.
The big question about Paralamas and this song is the emotional memory they means for us... Its so special and so important that touch us somewhere here inside.
For a firts reaction to someone who don`t know they and dont have this "emotional link" i would recomend the studio version.
Cassia Eller has a version of this song too, it's my favorite one
Cassia Eller é melhor em tudo!!
--- muita saudade...
A versão dela é minha favorita também!
Frank, I see you got hooked by brazilian songs. Hehehehe Brazilian audience won't let you go.
This is one of the best Brazilian drummer's!!!!!! João Barone - Drummer
Please, react to Milton Nascimento : "travessia" or "A lua girou"
In Argentina we all love Os Paralamas!!
Lanterna dos Afogados S2 S2 S2 S2
Paralamas do Sucesso tocou no Rock in Rio! Show demais !
Pls, you HAVE to listen
:
Almir Sater - Tocando em Frente
Please Frank, react to “Beija Flor” from Timbalada. You need to see them. They’re from the north of Brazil. AMAZING Percussion
My favorite band right there!
react to Gilberto Gil - Toda Menina Baiana ( Studio Version )
Awesome song :)
This is a classic song!
This is one of the finest guitar solos Brazilian music have ever produced.
His voice is strange, I don't sing but always fill like his voice fails. But I like it.
@@itamar9313, he has this thing on his voice before the accident.
João Barone is one of the fastest drummer in south America. That guy rules!
Reach sossego - tim maia pleaseeeeee frank
Amo essa música ❤❤❤ Muito lindaaaaa
YOU WOULD LOVE "girassol da cor do teu cabelo"! Give it a chanceeee
hello Frank when I saw this video I thought you would notice the vocalist's voice. he actually has a problem with his voice, due to an accident he suffered and left him paraplegic and in a coma this accident also claimed his wife's life. they were on a paragliding tour when they hear this fatality
( sorry my ingles)
Frank, here goes some BRAZILIAN ROCK suggestions:
RITA LEE - "Arrombou a Festa" (TV Tupi 1977) - (the queen of brazilian rock in the 70's, later she became more a pop singer in the 80's)
RAUL SEIXAS - "Ouro de Tolo" - (the king of brazilian rock)
LEGIÃO URBANA - "Faroeste Caboclo" or "Vento no Litoral" or "Metal Contra as Nuvens" - (considered by many the greatest brazilian rock band of all-time, the singer died of AIDS in 1996)
PITTY - "Memórias" or "Admirável Chip Novo" - (one of the most proeminent brazilian rock singers from 2000's)
CAZUZA - "O Tempo Não Para" or "Ideologia" - (one of the most iconic and controversial figure ob Brazil in the 80's, he died of AIDS in 1990)
TITÃS - "Comida" (one of the greatest brazilian rock band from the 80's)
SKANK - "Vou Deixar" or "Dois Rios" (great band from late 90's and 2000's, a lot influenced by ska and the MPB, like Milton Nascimento)
CHARLIE BROWN JR. - "Só Por Uma Noite" or "Proibida Pra Mim" - (a very succesful band from late 90's and 2000's, the singer died of overdose in 2013)
RPM - "Alvorada Voraz" (LIVE) - (great band from the 80's, a lot of new wave in their sound)

Specially Legião Urbana. The frontman, Renato Russo, was a great composer and an interesting persona
*"Arrombou a festa" é da banda RITA LEE & TUTTI FRUTTI.
I don't know if you've noticed that he sings and plays while sitting in a wheelchair, he was in a airplane accident that fell into the sea and the firefighters rescued him almost lifeless and he had many after-effects, it took him a few years to get back to playing and singing again.
Mi piace moltissimo Vinico Capossela. Puoi dirmelo altri bono musci italiani?
Samuele Bersani
@@marcelapaolino640 Grazie!
Wow, Thank you Franck for having answered the request to react to this wonderful song, I agree with you on the solo, he transmits to everyone who is listening to all the emotion that Herbert Viana puts on the guitar, sensational, and thank you very much for attending the request, I follow all your reactions to Brazilian music, congratulations on the work
Meu Erro - Paralamas do Sucesso
Herbert Viana - Guitar, Vocals
Bi Ribeiro - Bass and Voice.
João Barone - drums, vocals.
One of the biggest and best rock bands in Brazil.!
You should definitely go for studio version.
Please react secos e molhados - sangue latino....just amazing
Reage a Roupa Nova: Sapato Velho
Ele já reagiu.
Humn...obg!
Fun facts (for non-Brasilians): They went to the first Rock in Rio (1985), and the vocal suffered an accident that made him become paraplegic. My favorite song is called "Meu Erro" and they played at that Rock in rio concert that i mencioned before.
PRA RUA ME LEVAR - SEU JORGE ANA CAROLINA PLEASEE
Minha banda predileta!!!👏👏👏
Amo, amo!!!!💓
React to:
- Boi Soberano - Tião Carreiro e Pardinho
- Menino da Porteira - Tião Carreiro e Pardinho
- Asa branca - Luiz Gonzaga
Adoro mudica reguonal raiz
Herbert Vianna is some kind of miracle for overcoming the plane crash, the loss of his wife and a big chunk of his brain (literally), and still being able to play Guitar and Sing along. Despite his Guitar playing still quite the same from before the crash, his voice is a little "off". But when you consider the Paralamas history as one of the greatest Brazilian Rock Bands of all time, you just can't deny that even with the Herbert limitations nowadays, he still rocking hard and soulfull.
Hi teacher!!! Try to hear “Vamo Batê Lata”, or see that show!!!
That show is before Herbert’s Viana (vocal and guitar) plane accident!!!
Sorry about my english...
@@paulolangetakano3304 it was not so bad :D
Amo 😍 Paralamas do sucesso.
Please react to Noriel Vilela - 16 Toneladas. The lowest voice that ever sung in our country hahaha
Veja ele cantando antes do acidente!!!
React to Raul Seixas-Tente Outra Vez
