    We somehow managed to not get around to riding "Atonement," and I had some "mud on the lens" issues from time to time that ruined some footage. But ragardles...I hope the video captures the essence of what Mountain Biking is all about....having FUN with your buddies! We definitely accomplished that!

      Yeah, it was unforgettable for sure! That was a pretty mellow day, because at some point we had all slipped on the rocks, and our courage meters were all sitting pretty low. I have no idea why Dave got it in his head that he wanted to try that creek crossing, because he'd just watched Brad slip while trying to WALK his bike across! It was like ice...maybe worse actually. There's zero chance anyone was getting across that on a bike with the rocks being angled, which DOES NOT show in the GoPro footage.
      But...he got lucky. There was a big rock just to the right of his head where he landed, and that would have ruined all of our day had he hit that.

    Love to watch your videos. I live over the border in Oklahoma and ride in NWA regularly. I am always getting ideas for riding spots from your channel. Eureka is one of the most beautiful places I have been. Town and trails. I wish I had a group of friends like that to ride with. Great video.

    • @willbros1499

      Thanks for the kind words! If that's what you get from watching them...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED as far as I'm concerned. That's precisely why we started the channel, and the secondary benefit turned out to be showing how much fun riding can be socially as well. You should come join us on a ride man!! Find me on FB and send me a message, and I'll direct message you before our upcoming rides! The other option...go by Mojo Cycling in Bentonville, and tell them you want to be on the POD list, and you'll get an email giving you the group ride details. Take care!

    I just luv ur vids bro!! Lmao at ur great spirited mate who took a bath! Such a happy vid! Ur lucky to have trails like that near you, nice riding bro!! Just a quick one.. was that 4k 60fps? Coz dam that looks smooth bro.. your footage quality always impresses me!

      Thanks for the kind words! I recorded this in 1080p 60fps. I rendered it in 2.7K 30fps, with a 60K bitrate. Bitrate is the key. If I had the computer horsepower to edit in 4K, I would record in 4K. I am considering a dedicated graphics computer for editing, but it's down the road a bit. I am not seeing much difference between recording in 60fps and 30fps, unless you plan to do slow motion. I do that very little, so I'll probably revert back to 30 fps, just to have smaller file sizes to deal with when editing. SO MUCH of the end result depends on getting just the right camera angle, a solid mount, and the lighting. We had mostly good lighting this day, mottled a bit in places, but the trail was visible most of the time. Nothing is worse than shaky footage, or footage with a bad angle where you can't see the horizon, or the trail. I have all of my mounts marked, so the camera is in the same spot every time. What I'm not great at...is remembering to clean the lens more often. :-)

      @@willbros1499 Awesome reply bro! Thanks for taking the time!.. i cant find the bitrate setting ill keep looking, i record in high bitrate up to 100 mbps so it would be good to be able to use this to improve the quality somehow. i have a chest mount i mainly use, a handlebar mount, helmet side mount and a gripper tripod and a shorty among other attachments, i use VideoPad to edit and even tho my laptop is slow and i edit in 4k or 2k it still manages to do what i need i think lol. its just a case of im new at this and ive only recorded 2 vids and used two different settings so far wit the gopro so it will be a big trial and error job, I'm new to al this MTB-GoPros-UA-cam and video editing so ill do my best and try to learn from you guys! @@phaeton79 Yes sir I do belive that. That's why I mentioned I cant find the setting but surely the fact I recorded in high bitrate it should work well once I find the setting to change. THANKS BRO! I'm wondering all over YT to find vids and once I ask as many uploaders as I can about their settings it would seem my upload speed is c r a p ! And also I need to find this bitrate setting and sort that out as I think it uploaded in 160kbps if that makes sense?? I dunno lol. I'll learn. Ill check ur vids out too bro! Have a gander over and see what u think of my last two, first was 4k 30fps latest is 2.7k 60fps both uploaded as original rss and settings as Much as I could.

    The excitement in your voice @ 3min "are you gonna try it??"😂😂 At first I thought that was totally staged but then I watched it again and again and I'm pretty sure that was just the universe aligning for our enjoyment....I'm dying over here😂😂

    • @willbros1499
      @willbros1499  2 місяці тому +1

      Totally not staged…that was Dave Neal, the owner of Mojo Cycling here in Bentonville, and he wouldn’t have done that on an eBike, and definitely not with his phone in his pack!
      It looks staged because of how he fell, but the rocks were so slick that you couldn’t even walk on them, and that’s why I KNEW he wasn’t going to make it. When he said he was going to try it, I knew he wasn’t going to make it. We all did. Zero chance. But…we thought he might make it to the rock on the far side, but nope…front wheel washed the second it touched the slimy rocks. Brad, rhetorical guy already over the creek, had walked over it and commented that it was too slick. Dave was determined…and committed, but failed. In epic fashion! 😂

      I would have ridden that 5 times if it hadn't been one of the last trails we rode late in the day. I don't care if we had to push back up. That trail was so raw...and a blast. I can't wait to go back and hit the alternate lines...they look ultra rowdy!

      You wouldn't believe how many times I hear that. Those guys with me are AVID riders, one owns Mojo Cycling, and NONE of them had ridden them before! They LOVED them! So many people go all over to ride, but never go there for some reason, when it's an absolute gas. It's even better right now, because they are out there with weed eaters making it nice. Can you tell we were having a little bit of fun?? I cannot express how much fun Vengeance was....steep, natural, and gnarly. We would have ridden that trail three times and hit the alternate lines if we had started earlier!

      Hehe...I thought about using it, and then thought....no, it will be better if I have a little teaser at the front, and let it play out. I can tell you I KNEW he was going in, but I was actually a little worried about that one big rock to the right. If his head hit that, it would have ended in a pretty bad day. It's probably a good thing he didn't even make it to the point where I thought he would slip and eat crap!

    Where is your camera mounted and what camera do you record with? I have my gopro 8 mounted under my visor and I get a lot of heavy breathing picked up but it seems so much quieter in your videos

    • @willbros1499
      @willbros1499  4 роки тому +1

      I have the Hero 7, and for whatever reason, the audio on the 7 is crisper and to me, and more life-like than the 8. The 8 isn't bad...just not quite as good, so that's one thing to consider. Since you have the 8, obviously you want to do the best you can with what you have. Your stabilization is better than the 7, so that's a good thing!
      There are a few things to consider with audio, and I stole all of these tricks from other YT'ers. 1. Do you have the "mics" set to STEREO in ProTune? That's a big deal, because "auto" tries to do some funky wind reduction, and it sounds awful. 2. I have my camera mounted off the chin mount of my helmet. I wear full face all the time, and I'm just used to it. I have a short extension as well that allows me to get the camera a little lower. 3. I have a foam wind guard. That's a really big deal. I experimented with using a Sure Microphone cover that is more dense, and it helped....but not enough to feel like messing with it. The pre-made foam ones are fine. If you want to limit the wind noise even further, you can also add a dead cat stick on to the camera mics themselves UNDER the foam gaurd. I did that for a while, but it deadened it too much, but if breathing bugs you a lot, that might be another option.

    • @willbros1499
      @willbros1499  4 роки тому

      Hey innocent! There’s a story behind that. On the previous video there, I had the head prominently in a few clips. On this trip, it was gone. But we looked around and found it in the woods, and put it back where it was the first time we saw it. It’s a mannequin head, and I have no idea how it got there?? Pretty creepy though...
