$557.20 isn't a bad price for a trip like that. I live in the US and I think you made the right choice by driving. A lot of Scenery can be drove through and it's a pleasant experience. I've never been to Canada but I hope you had a safe trip home.

Hello. Great video, it lets me clear a lots of doubts I had. I would like to make a question. How bad is drive this road in December? I guess I just have the sunpass option because my homepoint is Florida since I'm brazilian arriving through Miami airport.

      Thank you.
For your question on how this route is for December it will really depend on a few things. First would be how far are you going? If you are heading to Canada then the areas of concern will be the mountains in Virginia and West Virginia, these are the areas with a lot of curvy roads. We are used to driving in the snow but not the types of curves so we wouldn’t want to take this route if the weather isn’t clear. There can be fog or ice as well that may make your drive unpleasant The worst part of this drive in poor weather conditions that we hear about is that if you feel it is too much and you want to stop, you may have to wait about 40 mins until the next city. So driving this route will depend on your comfort with both of these conditions. Also our opinion would be to suggest not driving in the dark if you take this route. Whichever way you go, have fun.

Great video, I’m doing the Florida drive in March ‘25. I see you had to keep your winter tires on because of Buffalo. I’ll might change my tires just before going down.

I would check the weather in the mountains before you head out. We hope you enjoy your trip.
      Thanks for watching.

We’ve done road trips to Florida from Kitchener Waterloo multiple times and going again in 3 weeks so excited going with my cousins who’ve never been 😊 gorgeous landscapes love driving over the Appalachians. Is our vehicle a hybrid? Or only runs on gas

That will be so exciting for your cousins!
We drove this trip in a hybrid SUV. If you have any must see places on the way, let us know. Thanks for watching, and have a fantastic trip!

Hey great video! did you get charged additional fee for using Canadian credit card in US ? or is it just like using it here...lets say in Toronto / Kitchener ! Thnx

      Thank you.
If you use your Canadian credit card there will be a transaction fee plus the currency exchange at the time you use it. We ended up getting a USD credit card to avoid the extra transaction fee. I have a US savings account and just pay the USD card.
If you won’t be travelling to the USA often, there are other credit cards that offer no exchange transaction fees and only charge the exchange rate.

as someone who is doing this road trip for the first time in 15 years in august. i appreciate this info. if i can ask what sort of cell phone arrange do you use?

Thank you, we are happy it was helpful. We both used something different for phones. Andrew did Roam like home from Rogers as he wanted to keep his Cdn number, which was $12 per day. I bought a SIM card which was approximately $50 for the duration. There is a link to the one I used in the description for the video. This gave me a US number which I actually like as then I get texts from hotels etc.
I have an apple phone so my number still worked for wifi texts and FaceTime.
      Enjoy your trip!

Another bear collision on I-77? Reminds me of a similar one a few years ago on another part of I-77 in Ohio...
