Yeah wtf? Why is there no sign of it being a cover? Majority will think that it's an original. Probably that's why it gets the mixed reactions that it gets.
They've actually been completely up front about it. M. Shadows has given several interviews about this recording, and has spoken at length about Mr. Bungle being a huge influence on A7X.
@Bam Stradlin I dont think the issue is it being a cover, If I wasnt aware of Mr Bungle before, then I wouldnt know this is a cover. Its important to credit the artist.
@@456Tris I love A7X, but (surprisingly) I only learned of this cover by searching "Retrovertigo" looking for the original. Unfortunately, I bet the opposite is usually the case. It sucks if someone is under the false impression that this is the original, because they're really missing out on finding an awesome band that has probably inspired a lot of the music they listen to.
@Bam Stradlin We get that A7X fans generally don't care that who they're paying tribute to isn't more overtly stated by the band... After all, their logo was borrowed wholesale from Overkill & many people seem blissfully unaware of this fact while Overkill, Mr Bungle, etc. remain far away from the mainstream success of A7X. Not that I'm salty, I prefer the bands I love to not be the "in" thing. It just should be outlined more clearly so their fans can know to check out the original bands instead of having to dig for the info. Oh & btw, the reason ur seeing so many of these types of "butthurt" Mr Bungle fan comments is precisely because it hasn't been made more obvious that this is a cover for all those who don't know. Otherwise, we'd all be like "good cover" & move along... Every passionate fan feels the inherent need to rep for their fave bands :)

Funny history lesson. 1999 - Patton personally asked Dillinger Escape Plan(DEP) to open for them because he was blown away by Dillinger's music...this was the same Bungle tour that Retrovertigo would have been released. 2006 - Shadows said that DEP "make shitty noises and try to pass it off as music." Greg of Dillinger Escape responded on the band's Myspace profile by stating, ""What about bands that make shitty noise and try to pass it off as Guns N' Roses?" 2017- A7X Covers the a song from the very band that ask DEP to tour with them because they were blown away by their music.

:O wow this is one of my fav tracks, really nice to hear avenged cover this!
Sounds like Pinkly Smooth vibes
I think it's the other way around. The Rev was influenced by Mr. Bungle when recording "Unfortunate Snort". Check out Mr. Bungle's self titled album.
I'm in shock. I didn't know A7x did a cover of this classic.
For anyone whos confused this is not an original song by a7f its a cover. Mr bungle is the creator from the album california. if you appreciate this then listen to the original its something special
Rip Jimmy
Saransh Minocha ok...
He's dead.
Amazing, as always!
Is a tribute to Mike Patton in Mr Bungle. ❤
Also because The Rev liked Mr. Bungle
Paradigm If you listen to The Revs side project Pinkly Smooth the influence is very strong
Mike patton had nothing to do with the writing of this song
+Richard Roberson but Patton is the one who sing, soooo
Richard Roberson mike Patton wrote Retrovertigo... Thats why its a cover - it was originally written by Mr bungle who mike Patton was the singer for
im loving the things matts doing with his voice
absolutely love this one too. A7X is just the greatest band hands down
i just realized this is a cover, the original was released in 1999 my Mr.Bunggle
Yeah wtf? Why is there no sign of it being a cover? Majority will think that it's an original. Probably that's why it gets the mixed reactions that it gets.
Yes, that is a cover, but yes again, I think people here don't know this yet. The vid doesn't care pointing that out too. Figures.
they should label it as a cover at least for respect
They said on facebook that it's a cover
They've actually been completely up front about it. M. Shadows has given several interviews about this recording, and has spoken at length about Mr. Bungle being a huge influence on A7X.
the drams in the beginning of the song are f*cking awesome!!!!
This song is so beautiful
Such an intense yet chilling atmosphere
It gives
Mike patton would be proud of them for doing this ❤❤
I love cleaning my home and going around the house with my babies listening to the new Album!!
This is amazing! I've always heard the Mike Patton influence in Shadows vocals. Love this!
I think the same!
people dont understand, its a cover...
Manolo Gamer yeah Mr. Bungle🙌
@@Sean-fv4wi Actually, their logo wasn't borrowed lol
But I understand what you're saying, albeit they announced this was a cover in their social media but not here.
Wow.. didn’t think it would be possible. This is a great cover
r e s p e c t ! when i saw the title i was like "could it be.. mr bungle cover???"
This is the kind of A7X which I love listening too, experimental and excellent.
This cover made exactly what the original song was talking about. It's another immitation, another simulacra in the world of simulacras which we are locked. Nothing original, just take the other's masterpiece and pretend that it's yours. Bravo!
i miss The REV backing vocals
This is definitely quite a step for Avenged, but it's a step in the right direction!
This is a Mr Bungle cover
Cynthia Jones Exactly, just imagine what cover that they could do in the future
They said they had 7 songs to add, and this is the second one. In a recent interview though they said they're never doing covers again, so after these 7, who knows
Christopher Vengeance dont agree...city of evil was perfection this isnt
bungle are perfection. this is one of the worst things to ever happen
Damn cool I love both bands!
this song grows and grows on me every time I listen. great choice of cover... Killin it.
Everything A7X does is pure gold
Welcome to The VIP Papa Gates Likers cabin

Benjamin Zukic i meni je a7x najdraži bend ikad

DynamiicGameZ super , jesi li kada bio na concertu njihovom
Benjamin Zukic eh nisam, al volio bih ici
haters gonna hate. some idiots are hypocrites. I love this cover. good job A7X.
Love all these new songs that aren't necessarily on an album, keep it up guys, still love all you've done and all you continue to do!
This is my fav song of the album. Doesn't matter if it's a cover song. Mr.Bungle, A7X... you're awesome.
Funny history lesson. 1999 - Patton personally asked Dillinger Escape Plan(DEP) to open for them because he was blown away by Dillinger's music...this was the same Bungle tour that Retrovertigo would have been released.
2006 - Shadows said that DEP "make shitty noises and try to pass it off as music." Greg of Dillinger Escape responded on the band's Myspace profile by stating, ""What about bands that make shitty noise and try to pass it off as Guns N' Roses?"
2017- A7X Covers the a song from the very band that ask DEP to tour with them because they were blown away by their music.
Oh man brooks wackerman is one hell of a drummer
One of my all-time favourite Mr. Bungle songs! Glad you kept the unique soul of the song and just heavied it up rather than doing away with all of the weird and wonderful elements that made the original so great.
This song has an absolutelly Soundgarden vibe!!
damn, sneaky good cover! love it....
no one seems to know its a mr bungle cover tho
Odin Forfang Seems alot of people know. But okay?
Yeah, that's the problem. Patton made this song untouchable!
no one seems to know they were robots
This just proves that music as we know it wouldn't be the same without Mr. Bungle. So many great bands took influence from them and they knew how to make music that was completely different from anything at the time. Truly a group of legends. PLEASE have a reunion
If there's one thing I thought I'd never see, it's a Mr. Bungle cover by A7X. The future is bright.
I never thought i would ever hear soneone cover Mr Bungle...but here it is, and i like it
pinkly smooth foREVer
