Technical Tuesday: Compensators and cone of fire

What is the actual improvement in the dispersion of shots on a target when a compensator is added to your gun? By holding time constant, we can begin to see what the compensator does to improve our recovery to centerline of the target. This video compares our compensated and uncompensated models against the clock.

What is often overlooked is that comped guns may help a bit with regular range ammo, but they really shine when it comes to +p self defense loads.

Both of my SS pistols have comps. I went with the Afterburner in my MR920 and a SS comp on my DR920.
Yes, they make a small but noticeable difference.

I'm really impressed with Shadow Systems. I've had an Mr920 a little over 2 years with 7500 rounds and literally no issues, and about to get an XR.
What I'd love to see next is the CR920X(P). I got to try the CR920P at a range event and it's fantastic, but a slightly longer grip would make it perfect

Sadly I don’t trust the dr920p for carry. It has been unreliable but I still love bringing it to the range.
