@@sereneamani1713 Nah...just real. Dads can just show up, do the fun stuff and get acknowledged while the day to day pressures Mom endures aren't even an honorable mention until adulthood.
This case resonated through my mind deeply, I’m 50+..my dad now deceased, came here from Trinidad many, many years ago. He was in search of the American Dream..he was the worst “father figure”, he hated me based on the fact I resembled my mom now deceased, he did nothing for me..mentally, emotionally nor financially. When he passed several years ago, I was the only person who put foot forward and buried him dignified. Back then, women had to resort to “state benefits” to survive and put the basic staples on the table for their children. The fathers, just as mine did ran from child support and would work on the neighborhood cars to “supplement” their income under the table. Thank God he’s still standing considering the injury he suffered from the explosion, he’s a sixty year old man now, be there for your daughter, she needs you and you will soon need her, trust me.Believe, had he been diligently employed throughout his years he would be entitled to “Disability State funds” for his for his lack of eye vision. She’s in a stable relationship, she needs her father there for that emotional moment and secure shoulder. Stop with the excuses.
Sorry you went through that, but sadly your mother made the decision to lay up with some deadbeat and get pregnant. It is about time the mothers start taking accountability in these cases.
He resembles my father in a good way. My dad had never ever smiled at me except when he had beaten me up and I end up crying. But this guy, with all that beautiful fatherly smile, just made me cry this time with love. Let him get all the help from JM and live as long as possible.

Some men (and women) were never taught to show their emotions or how to be empathetic. It's sad. Sometimes parents try to make up for their errors with their grandchildren. Perhaps you can be the catalyst to help your father. It's never too late while one is still alive and kicking.
So no ones going to talk about how JM made it seem normal for a daughter to not come to HER father about the the ups and downs that she has in a relationship involving men?!! SMH lowkey disheartening.🤦🏽♀️ Looks like there’s a need for better father-daughter relationships in the community.

That's good and your family is admirable. However, different strokes for different folks. I don't want my children or grandchildren to pay my bills. Not arguing with you at all, but what I wanted (want) is for my children to care for their families the way they were cared for.
Clearly it was deeper than a phone bill. You have to learn to meet people where they are and my reasoning for this was to get him help. The phone bill was the gateway that got us there
