I'm new to cricut and glad I found your Channel! I have an explore air 2, and wanted to ask if you could make this same exact video but with the new version of canvas? I updated the app and mine looks so diff from the video.
Hi there Alex, I’m new to your channel and I stopped looking for other instructors the minute I watched your video. I am a retired kindergarten teacher and familiar with giving instructions, and I must say you are by far one of the best.
When you see three dots together, that’s called a kebab menu, and if you ever use Google, there is the panel that is nine squares (or circles depending on device) by nine squares. We call that the waffle. Either technology folks take the concept of menu very literally, or they are perpetually hungry.
I'm fairly new to using the Cricut Maker and I've been petrified of using the print and cut option. You made it so easy to understand and thank you for talking about the printer calibration! I was able to calibrate my new printer, print and cut my first project all thanks to you!
I've always wondered how to print and cut and you've just walked us through it effortlessly. It's going to get me some time to learn all the technical side so I'm glad I have your tutorial as a go-to reference. Thanks! 😊
Just an update - if you go to cricut ds settings, change to beta, it will NOW allow print and cut up to A3 which is fab if you're doing larger projects :D! Thanks so much for making this video, this is really easy to follow - i've subscribed! :)
You literally just taught me everything I needed to know. You are amazing and have enjoyed a few tutorials already and let me say your teaching is very enjoyable and I really get it.
Sheila this made my day! Thank you so much! Those light bulb moments when things finally make sense for you are exactly why I do what I do 💕! I’m so glad you stumbled on my videos! ☺️
You have saved my life and now my cricut will not collect dust. my daughter got me one and i was clueless to what it was let alone know what to do, i searched you tube for days but everyones video was to complex even the beginner videos, then the crafting GoD let me see your video thank you so much i defiintly will be on your page from now on thank you
Alex, this was an excellent video. I am a Cameo user but my sister just got a brand new Cricut Explorer Air 2. We have been using it for the last few days and find it very easy to use. That being said, we have not used the print and cut option yet. I showed my sister how to use it with my Cameo but knew it would be different with the Cricut. After watching your video, I am going to forward this video to her as this video was so easy to follow, a great presentation, well edited, and I think she will really enjoy it. Thank you again.
I just ordered a Cricut Maker… Merry Christmas to me. 😊 Thank you for such informative and helpful videos for newbies! Looking forward to learning tons from you and following you on FB and Instagram as well.
I have been trying and wasting material for print and cut. You tutorial was fantastic. I’m going to give it another try. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Brilliant! You are so direct and to the point but in a fun way. Your teaching is amazing. I feel so much smarter already. I have subscribed and will continue watching. Thank you so much.
I've never used the print then cut option but am Giving my Daughter a Baby Shower and I need stickers. Thanks for the clear instructions. I feel better about trying it. New subscriber!😁
Thank you so very much, I am a newbie to cricut and you explained everything perfectly, each step, no one ever does that. I rarely leave comments but I was so impressed with your video I just had to let you know.
thank you so much for your Tutorial I bought my Cricut 8 months ago and was scared to use it. but you make it clear and great to pick it up, I made my first full sheet of stickers and I was over the moon. I will be learning all of your Tutorials to help me. thank you, Alex. 🦋🌺🌞 💖
Thank you so very much for this tutorial! Newbie to the Cricut and this helped me immensely! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Especially for putting a shape at the back of an image was a lifesaver.
This was amazingly informational and explained so well. I have wanted to learn to print stickers but didn't know where to start. Thank you so much for the easy step-by-step instructions that were easy to follow. I am going to be making stickers now!
Omg you are great at explaining this process!!! I’ve been pulling my hair out with print and cut!!!! I finally gave up and started cutting everything out by hand. Let me tell you what a pain in the butt!!! Every time I tried l print and cut it was a hit or miss as to whether it was going to cut around the image or each individual line. So frustrating but after watching this video I’m ready to go try it out! I’ll be back if I still can’t figure it out lol
I bought a Circut just yesterday and I am HAPPY I found a video on this particular topic because I needed it. Very very helpful and I thank you! Happy holidays xx
Thank you so much! You explained it so well I now feel comfortable with print then cut. I'm new to Cricut I just received mine as a Christmas gift so still learning. Keep up the great videos!
Thank you so much!!!! I just bought my Cricut and I have watched many videos and you are the only one that went all the was through. I finally understood how to use it. Thank you again
Wow, thank you for explaining this in ways that I can understand! Not that I’m dumb 😂, but I’m so new to this. I got a Cricut Joy for Christmas last year and am still not even good at that! 🙄 I can just do basic wood signs. Sometimes it takes my friend and I hours to piece together bigger patterns lol! Now I just got the new Cricut Maker 3, as a gift from a family I just nannied for, and I definitely have no clue how it works! I am hitting subscribe right after I leave this message. Thank you!
I've been trying to figure out print and cut FOREVER! THANK YOU for making it so much easier to understand :) I'll be following you on all of my social media.
I have a Canon that has a main paper tray in the front, but in the back along the top, it has a rear feeder and it's SO easy figuring out how to print because it just goes straight through.
Hi Alex, Thank you got teaching about the calibration process. You added the only person that I’ve heard mention it. Again, thank you. Can I print a color custom shape dinner menu on a printer that’s not connected to my CRICUT, then cut it out with my CRICUT?
Calibration is super helpful for getting accurate cuts! In order for your cricut to cut it, it has to be put through DS so it gets registration marks. That being said, if your menu is straight lines, you can print it bigger without design space and then cut it out using a paper trimmer!
I hope that we cover some of your questions in the premiere! I will be live in the comments, so feel free to ask questions there or send me a message via social media if there's something you still don't feel was answered! :)
Thank you so much for this video. I'm using my cricut machine because it seems like it is easier to do deep cuts with their blade. However I do prefer the silhouette machine.
Great video, newbie to design space and this was very helpful. It was very clear and easy to follow. You explained a lot of info I needed to know about how Cricut cuts around the offset, but can you further explain what you meant by it cutting a bunch of little pieces if you don't flatten into shape. I thought that flattening with the offset prevents printing a bunch of pieces and makes the flower image and the offset one solid piece. My understanding is that if you flatten with an offset or flatten with a shape around it, the outcome is the same (for print and cut) can you explain. Also, can you show an example an image with the bleed setting on and off, and lastly why can laserjet printers not be used with Cricut? Thanks again, this was super informative!💡
Correct, if you don’t use the flatten function, then the cricut will cut around every word/ shape. That’s what I meant about a bunch of pieces. The bleed just adds a small border around your shape in the same colors as the shape itself. You can use laser printers if the products are laser compatible, but most are not. I hope that helps!
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much! I’m just getting into sticker making with my cricut explore air 2 and have been so confused. 2 questions: I’ve tried the Avery brand clear sticker paper but my cricut doesn’t recognize it. Any tricks to make it cut? And 2- do you know if the Neato brand sticker paper is acid free? Can’t seem to find that on their website, but I’d like to use them in my scrapbooking.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful tutorial! I learned more from you then any other tutorial I’ve watched! Can you please explain why you have to use an inkjet printer? I have a laser. Thank you
Thank for the tutorial, it´s great!! I do have a question, If I print with laser, it won´t work? Because you say it should be in inkjet. Thanks so much!!
Thank you for this! So detail and complete! About to buy a cricut and wanted to check on something I heard b/4 I purchase. For print and cut on Paper I heard that the Explore Air 2 will only do this on white paper vs the explore 3 which will print on color paper. Is this true and if so is what situation would you need to cut on color paper. thank you!
Pro Tip: You can add a rectangle and size it 6.75 X 9.25 and place the stickers inside and size them inside of that rectangle to keep from going back and forth. Then once placed remove rectangle and attach all of the stickers. Wah-lah! Xoxo
WOW! So incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for sharing this and walking us through from beginning. I tried so many ways and nothing was working. I can now make mine as a print and cut successfully!
Page size did change. Some other things have changed too. This was a great tutorial. Unfortunately it won't let you arrange the print then cut items how you want and it moves them around. And now mine is stuck in cyberspace between my laptop and the printer. It says its preparing to print, but it is taking forever. update: It finally worked. Thanks!!
I’m so glad you got it! Design Space makes changes from time to time, but you should still be able to edit your mat and move things around where you want them!
Hi Alex, that seems like a pretty clear lesson..however I have just started this journey and I am really having such a problem. I am trying to make Christmas ornaments with transparency film. However in order to not ruin expensive film I am attempting to make my designs and print on plain paper first to see how it comes out. Soooo..I downloaded a cute black design to my computer and then uploaded to design space. I believe it's an svg. I need it to be round and clear behind the design. I imported the Christmas tree design, brought over a black circle, made it white and put the design in front of it. It said print then cut, then i flattened and my design disappeared and left only the white circle. I am stumped. I would like to have as many as will fit on the sheet of just under 3 inch designs. Some of the designs were saying basic cut. But when I attempted to print the mat showed some going to 1 mat and a few to the others and when I printed only one design actually printed even though there were more in design space when I clicked make it! Very confusing. Hope you can help me. I am so sad. been at it for days. Thanks so much. Glad I found you! You're terrific!
All of the operations should say print then cut for each tree. That’s what they are separating on the different mats. So go back and change all of their operations first. Then when flattening, make sure every tree you want to include is selected as well as the background. I hope that helps!
Thank you for the step-by-step simplified video. I would like to know if I do a print and cut but only use one image will I be able to use the paper again for another print and cut project or will I have just wasted the entire sheet .

Hamburger menu!!! 🍔 that is the 1st time I've heard it called that and now I will always call it that!

Lol 😂 me too!
I learned it when my kids came home from school with their new chromebooks (a few years ago)....I can never unhear it.

Thank you got teaching about the calibration process.

One quick question…why can’t you use a color laser printer?
Most products are designed for inkjet, but if you find a laser compatible material then go for it!
Thanks for this video and the calibration tip.

It just depends on the products you have. If they are compatible with laser printers, then it’s fine to use your laser printer!

Your cricut can only print then cut a sheet once, so I recommend filling up the page as much as you can.
