Over the last few years it looks like manufacturers have been trying to get the center of mass of their chassis layouts to be pushed to the front, then drivers go and add weight to the rear, what's the reason for this?

The weight forward is usually more stable entering the turn and faster, but we do sometimes add weight to the rear to help on exit.
