Props for skating those flat! I think the liner doesn’t have the heel grippy stuff because the Cult is such a good shape. It naturally holds your foot down so it may not be needed at all. Plus it probably gives you about an extra half size of room in the shell.
I've been riding 58-60mm flat set up, regardless of the frame, or skate, since around 98. I do get wheel bite more often than most, and my grind repertoire is not as big, but it is a lot of fun, and less painful. I understand it's not what many are used to, but I think everybody should give it a try.
The Shima 1 came stock flat, but he definitely skated anti all of those years. He's the reason Shane even bothered to make the Higgs Boson wheel at Mindgame
The setup really seems like a way to give people free wheels without having them loose in the box. Maybe razors expected the customers who are interested in these skates to already have some antirockers on hand?
I skated these flat for a few sessions. I was able to get most of my tricks while riding them flat. It was for sure a challenge. These were my first actual Pro Skate back in the day. I bought them the day they came our and then again 20yrs later. I wish the liner was taller, but they are for sure a beautiful ReUp. I hacked the foamboard to make them more level on the inside. And may actually hide the front receptor for a little more comfort.
I was also surprised by the amazing fit on my new Cult Graphite skates! The boot shell is obviously awesome but razors has actually improved their liners quite a bit :)
I watched this the day I bought mine last week. The first thought when I saw them come out was that they need to be anti-rocker, but this just confirmed it. I went ahead and got some 45mm anti-rockera at the same time and it all just arrived. Super stoked about getting to skate later tonight.
Nice review Law! I met a fellow last weekend at Lexington Skatpark named Casey who used to ride for Razors and Oak City (I think). He was rocking the new Shimas and killing it on a round rail. Skating anti rocker though. Kinda made me want to try a pair. It’d be rad if USD would re-release old skates from the vault. I always liked the look of the Fredrick and Latimer Thrones, but never got a pair.
Fluid Motion bought and modified the Classic Throne shells to eliminate the inside wing. You can buy shells from them but would need to design a one piece sole.
rollerblade canvas has those eyelids. hehe. i know because i had those horrible skate after broken my fatty pro. just started watching your videos. love the journey to go back to blading!
Nicely done my friend that's the best royale and far I've seen you do looks great keep up the great work I'm super jealous of the shima's I want them so bad
Had the shima 1s 3s and 5s loved every pair. Not sure about spending the money for these but man they look so good. Also are you the guy who owns 50/50
I ride flat 60 on the ground control hd aluminum frame with 50/50 wheels and it actually works great but that frame has wheelbite protection and is meant to be ridden flat
Great vid as usual Law. Looking forward to when mine arrive, will be slapping antis on first thing though😅. What profile are the wheels they come with? Did the roll feel ok riding them anti?
Hey, this is going to be a ver unorthodox question. I was just curious if you could make a video about different liners in a remz skate & how well it performs/fits with different liner options(obviously in your opinion)? Also preferably in an OS style skate, if possible? But if you could in any HR or original style boot you have could also work. It would be much appreciated
Nice comprehensive review that's helped me make my mind up, many thanks! P.s Nice anti rocker transformation magic trick by the way... Justin flom ain't shit! :D
The only thing is good a bout it is the sheel thats it the liners is not orginals not frames no weels i got my in a glass shelf im sorry but its not retro wrong move razors if u gonna bring somthing back bring it back the right way
"nobody should be doing flat 60's for grinds". Surely you'd make an exception for those type of frames that are actually designed for it, with a wider groove, more wheel bite protection, etc?
@@stefanspingler2737 yeah I should have gone to a skate store to try them on, I dont like the extra space on the side of the foot. I think I was 1/2 or 1 size too big on the boot.
@@714jk yeah it was the genesis boot I didnt like, my buddy had the creams back in the day and the shell was better fit like the ones Law is skating on this vid

I don't understand now anyone skates antinrocker. It's so unstable. Hurts your bones, messes up your frame, hard to steer, makes you slower, provides less power, dificult to land. Just a headache. You your plates and bend your knees. No need for antinrocker as personal preference.
Should be an indication of how out of touch razors is with setups, honoring a legend with a shit half ass remake and not giving pro skaters to skaters that deserve it.
bro stop buying every skate.. or better yet collecting.. they don't make enough and ppl really tryna skate them not collect and dust 30 pairs bro. that goes for everyone "collecting" skates because you have the means now. save the skates for those who are actually gonna skate them, for real. this is getting out of hand these skate collectors and you go on the sites and all the shit is gone b

I had a pair of these back in the day and you’re right I would tuck in my pants so you could see the SHIMA on the liner.

Bravo for even trying ftl3s flat. Razors is crazy for that one. There’s no part of that frame/wheel combo that looks like a good time.
Not going to mention the kid blading with the 50/50 hoodie at 6:05?
It’s happening!!!
well spotted!
Razor Flats and Super Flats were pretty popular in the UK. Loved that Blue colour!
I wish I could find a pair of original flats in my size. (I'm also from the UK)
The setup really seems like a way to give people free wheels without having them loose in the box. Maybe razors expected the customers who are interested in these skates to already have some antirockers on hand?
I have to assume so. But then why not just include antirockers stock?
@@BacktoBlading So they can buy Fifty-50 antis of course!
I Would not wanna try a flat setup on those frames

Looking good on those airs there👍Great review too.
Thanks. Focused on saving the back.
franky morales carbon 3 had that lace system (like the jordans it replicated)
I tried featherlites flat once. It was worse than expected. And I expected bad things.

@@714jk that’s awesome info to have! Thanks bro!
Pretty happy with my Razors Impact 200 back in the days. With a white frame and two different type of wheels. Outstanding I remember.
Found a too small pair in a thrift shop last year.

I cant wait for the Shima 3's all white cream color!

I wish they used the GC Mega frames for this skate! It’d be so much better.
Great vid as usual Law. Looking forward to when mine arrive, will be slapping antis on first thing though😅.
What profile are the wheels they come with? Did the roll feel ok riding them anti?
They’re a Face profile, so bullet with a skinny riding surface. Perfect for skating flat, not my favorite for antirocker
The og shimas came with ground controll 1st gen frames
Love the video but the hoodie string not being even is driving me nuts lol
thanks for explaining flat frames and wheel sizing. why would razors sell this knowingly weird setup - cost cutting?
It’s bizarre. I’m sure more expensive than the antirocker wheels.
thanks for the vid brotha. catch you back on the carbons in the next one! lol

Tough for me since the remz hr 2.5 gave me serious foot pain
I didn’t hear the traditional razors squeak
Worse on the so model
Just got mine and im pretty impressed. But definitely swaping for anti rockers
Great video !!!
Those wheels would fit into the new kizer fluid 5s.... just saying... best flat frame on the market imo
Need more designs and products from CHROMA brochacho.
January!

No, they’re just for UFS frames

I think he meant for the flt3's. Aeons are a perfect example of a working 60 flat setup.
For sure! Aeon 60, K2 unnatural, all good flat frames. These aren’t designed for that though
They sent you a spare set of wheels
Razors are my least favorite skate. I find there is too much room in the boot. But they are really good for grinds. I had the Shima 5 for a while.
You gotta buy em tight bro. I'm old school used to skate K2 then USD for many years but Razors have changed my life recently.
