The brass and bead locks should really help keep it planted. In my area I prefer the more wide open tread on tires as the super scale ones get clogged with dirt too easily making them slippery. Out at Axial fest they should probably be fine. Unless it rains and then with hundreds of trucks and feet stomping around no tire is going to help! LOL! Have fun on the trip and on the trails!

Awesome truck Fil. For the winch I would put a three stage switch (-1/0/+1) under the bed. The button stickig through it. And then glue some scale part onto it. Switching is then done by moving this part.

@@poorboysrc there are also possibilities with an interieur. Depending on a cutted out driver window. A swith under the dash board or in the foot area. Or.... a turn switch activated by turning the drivers head. The angle to each side should be under 90°, otherwise it might look creepy.😁

The skinny tyres are better for digging in to the ground to find grip, especially in the snow, the wide tyres act more like a sledge, skimming over the top losing the magic grip factor you require. Skinny us best, gets you to places others can't reach.😊😊😊
All the research I've done proves you're right. Skinny is a better performer than wide. Here in North America, everyone loves their wide off-road tires. Yeah, they do look cool. But skinny does perform better. 👍🏻

@Paul__FC hahaha party time indeed! It's funny you say that because I bought the most 90's neon fanny pack I could find just for this event. Its got the word "PARTY" on it in huge letters! I figured if I'm gonna have to carry around a bunch of stickers, buttons, batteries, etc... I'm gonna look as ridiculous as possible doing it. 😂

I can’t speak for RC4wd bfg tires, but I can speak for real bfg all terrain’s .. I had em on my jeep back in the early 2000’s. They suck in mud. They don’t clear themselves. They’re only ok-ish on rocks.
@IowaBudgetRCBashers ah, good to know. I've never run them on my 1:1 trucks, either. But a lot of guys put here on the Island do, and they all say great things about them. 👍🏻

i thought you were either really strong or the truck must super light. i do have crawlers from gmade, axial and traxxas. they are not that light to hold it like that. great video once again. awesome looking truck and surfboard.
I think I'm pretty strong, but not strong enough to hold that truck out too long. 😄

Winch looks great, I wouldn't bother getting it to work myself, those winches are notoriously lousy performers. (But they look cool) And be careful of the brass on the 10.3, it really is going to be pretty painful to that stock steering servo, and be careful with the brass hubs, you tend to lose thread engagement with the wheel nuts, which can lead to you losing a wheel on the trail- major bummer. (but you can file down those hubs just a tad, after all they are brass)
Wish I could make this one, because I live in the neighborhood, but have fun and don't bring any non-Axial trucks! There is a vehicle search and interrogation once you get there.... I'm kidding🙂 Have a great time!

I put those same tires on my TRX4. Honestly, i was not that impressed with them. The majority of what i drive on is decomposed granite and they had very little grip on that stuff. The BFG ko2 isn't exactly a rock crawling tire either. But they look so freakin cool! I have them on my 1989 F150, and my 1999 Ford Ranger also lol
Hopefully what you're running on isn't slippery, crumbling rocks!

@@poorboysrc I put them on some steel beadlocks also. That aspect helped tremendously, just having the weight of the wheels. They're super sticky, but they don't have a lot of "give."
