Second gen was definitely Sexy Gen. I will never complain about showing off a beautiful body as long as nobody was being pressured into it. But, there’s MVs from this era that raised my eyebrows with all the butt wiggles.
Once again I appreciate Mrs. Coach’s open mindedness at GGs going sexy and her amusement at Coach getting flustered.
This MV was suggested to me by a podcast years ago an example of a video that pushed the boundaries but still had an artistic quality and a legitimately good song. I had to watch again to see Coach’s jaw literally drop.
Expectation from Girl’s Day has a pretty interesting choreo that includes some unique suspenders moves.

I stumbled across Hello Venus while watching the K-Drama "Bulgasol: Immortal Souls" and looking up the actors on IMDB. Kwon Nara was the lead actress and it said she was in Hello Venus. I checked out "I'M Ill", and had the exact same expression as Coach for a good part of the day.
Oh you guys don't how much I laughed throughout the reaction, especially for Mr Coach's line.I mean -- ' Stick a fork in Me ?😂

Hi Coach, so cool that you checked out Hello Venus, which used to be one of my favourite Kpop GGs. To give you some context, it was indeed a signature feature for 2nd generation Kpop GGs (early 2010s) to have a sexy vibe and seductive, sometimes even provocative choreos, with examples including AOA, Girl's Days, Sistar, Apink, EXID etc.
Among these 2nd gen groups, however, 2NE1 was an exception. It was often considered the pioneer of the so-called "Girl Crush" concept, which would then go on to dominate the 3rd generation Kpop GG scene starting from around 2015/16, such as, as we are now all too familiar, Blackpink. Hope it helps^^

Thank you for that reaction ! It gives me some flashback of this song playing in the car when I was travellin back in 2016-17 ! As other comments mentionned, you should look for other HelloVenus songs like "I'm Ill", "Sticky Sticky" etc.
But also might wanna give a try to "After School - First Love" and their deadly hip attack... 😁 I suggest the 'Mirrored Dance Practice' since it has been edited with the song and not the commentary that is on the official dance practice. Some people says that the song came out at the wrong period and if it had been released closer to our time it would have win many many prizes and I agree.

The song is very good. The video wouldn't have almost any value if the song wasn't so good. Now they work together, the video with the performers and the song, creating a great combo. Hellovenus is one of my favourites for sure. They have very many great tunes and some nice videos.
You have to to check out AOA Miniskirt. It's the best sexy concept song/video combination, just absolutely perfect. AOA is even better than Hellovenus otherwise too. Even more great tunes, great videos and visuals.
The best overall K-pop performer with songs / visuals / dancing / vocals for me is BoA though. Check out Better and Camo from her at the very least. Hers are more than just sexy concept though (which this and Miniskirt for sure are), but just have to advertise her since she's so amazing.
BoA's voice was fantastic on the one we did with Wendy and NingNing. We'll keep these in mind.

This group clearly thought that AOA was way too conservative. I'm not sure about their concept BUT, I had the weirdest urge to have a handful of dollar bills for some reason. "Art is in the mind of the beholder" and it's clear what's in Coach's mind. I hope Coach doesn't get a headache from pondering the deep meaning of this song. ;)

LMAO ....yes that is fun, but sadly in 2nd gen when girl group wiggles in MV there always was HUGE scandal in social media, and many times after members in interview said they were "forced" to do sexy choreography, and wear sexy outfits.....Some of that might be truth other don't, but today new much younger groups shake their butt in very revealing outfits...and almost none complain! Because now in gen 4th "sexy" concept is for "STRONG women" and independent. For me personally it's a double standards....for me minors should NEVER do that even if they want;P But Adult idols must be prepare to do that...that industry works.

Ooooooh, Coach might be in a little trouble here... I think we can reassure Mrs. Coach by saying that while a few groups (like AoA and Dalshabet) explore this sort of concept, due to S. Korea's ingrained conservative nature, its never been a path of lasting commercial success.
