- Watch this video to find out how to draw a floor plan by hand. I'll be showing you how I do my interior design floor plans, in 2...very different ways. One is a rough plan drawing sketch and the other is a professional architectural drawing floor plan.
Maybe you want to draw your own blueprints; in which case I show you how to draw a house plan step by step for beginners. Or maybe you're more advanced and an architect, student or interior designer already? Then for you, I go into some of my spatial planning interior design top tips that I have perfected over the years- which hopefully you find useful haha :) This floor plan design tutorial is catered to everyone & I just thought that whilst I'm sketching ideas for a new project, why don't I show you my complete floor plan process from start to end. And also how to use a scale ruler lol. So, if you want to learn how to sketch like an architect, lets go!

A divine sort of plan is that employing enduring materials such as stone and that anticipates additions and reworkings from the get-go, rather than just moving or destruction. In short, a real homestead to be cherished for generations.

My uni still restricts us to manual drafting for atleast the first two years. It has helped me make any design that I'm dealing with so much more personal and characteristic before I proceed with softwares.

I have a curious question. End grain of lumber is typically represented by an [X] .. but is there a standardized symbol to represent side grain of lumber? The typical reverse hatch betwixt lines to represent plywood layers is insufficient, so I presently use a short single line with half sided arrow points (on opposing sides) at each end of the line to represent the linear grain of lumber. This symbol is quite handy for details where I show corner assembly on deck or wall framing.
Ok you got me! I for things like that I get out the promarkers for some colour. I don't love it but it's cleaner (to me) that adding that grain effect

Ohhhh thanks so much! Most days it's a birds nest (I'll be honest 🤣🪺) I use denman brush, cantu avocado lotion, and Umberto Gianni hair gel. Or any hair gel that's runny xx
