I agree on xs and s sizes selectivity. I too, left behind a lauren ralph lauren 100% wool woman vest, in iconic RL colors. The bigger size, the more certain sale. Young people who are xs and s, love going shopping out and not ebay.
I’ve definitely started focusing more on quality of material rather than brand name. I try to pick up silk blends, cotton, wool, cashmere, real leather, Italian yarn etc. From the trend watching I’ve been doing on TikTok, consumers are becoming fed up with poor quality material and would rather have well made, with natural materials and will pay for it. Just my two cents 😊
Brands that sit for me are: Madewell, lululemon, Torid, Gymshark, Lulus, Travis Mathew, Rothy’s, allbirds, athleta, alo yoga, St John. And almost anything XS-S.
Honestly with all live shows everything decreased in value. All the brands you mentioned I would take for live shows (in the bins) but I would not post them in closet. I’m extremely selective with items for closet and mostly what I post I’d bread and butter brands with easy cash flow, not concentrating on expressive items

Wow, this just confirms what I've been thinking for a really long time. I really live in a dead thrifting area. I never see any of the brands that you've mentioned that are now dying out. Never seen them, not even once.
Hi Mogi! Here's a few brands that I stopped grabbing at the thrift - Allbirds, Barefoot Dreams, Figs, Rothy's, Beyond Yoga and Crocs all get left behind now. I agree with all the brands you also listed. It's so funny you mentioned not really knowing what to look for in the athletic section right now because I was thinking the exact same exact thing! I'm just looking for those Vuori tags! :)
I literally give lululemon away, to their exchange program🤷♀️ Their cropped scuba hoodies and define jackets do well, men’s commission pants, and select shorts. The rest are collected for credit. Makes for good free gifts🤷♀️
Madewell has definitely slowed down some. It all depends on the piece. I did just sell a NWT Madewell dress and a white cotton shirt. Free People just doesn't seem to move anymore. I think it's just over saturated.
I totally agree with Lane Bryant! It's so unfortunate because I have some good pieces like dresses and jumpsuits but they haven't moved! J Brand is one for me that i learned from you a while back that i havent been able to move and no longer pick up. I'm not even sure what jeans I SHOULD look for these days...
For athletic wear, Buff Bunny does pretty well for me. Quick flip most of the time. Brands that are moving really slow for me are Free People, Madewell jeans if they are skinny style, Superdown, Lulu’s, Maeve, Zara.
I came across a Vuori top at Salvation Army. I didn’t know it was a brand that would sell, but it was NWT & 50% off. And it felt quality. I bought @4.50 and sold on Poshmark for $50! Which, I was shocked about. Buyer didn’t ask for discount. LOVE it when that happens!
I skip most XS-S sections in my thrift stores. I find it is a MUCH better investment to spend more time in sections of the store that have a better return - and there are so many more brands that you can buy in larger sizes that will sell instead of possibly never selling in a XS. Honestly, its really only the long dresses that I'll spend time in the smaller size sections. I can't lie and say there isn't a little heartbreak at the thrift store finding something amazing but then seeing it's a tiny size because it will either not sell for me or the comps will be a fraction of what they could be in a more demand size.
Oh wow. I've definitely been noticing a decline in brands that used to fly off the shelf for me: St John, Eileen Fisher, Faithfull the brand, WeWoreWhat, Madewell still doing well for me but J Crew is better, I have to be picky with Free People-maxis and sweaters are still good, Gymshark is bad, i keep swearing i won't pick up Zyia anymore but it keeps selling fast so i still throw it in my cart if it's a good price, Judy Blue still sells fast but i notice it's not selling for as much as it used to, same with Liverpool jeans, SPANX getting harder to sell, Betabrand is dead to me. I've been sitting on good sizes in the used to be popular black pants having to let them go on ebay for $20. Yuck. No more for me. Done.
Just sold 2 Figs today! Love it! I’ve also sold 2 NBD dresses within a day of listing. I believe they still do pretty good. Thanks for the updated brands to be careful with, notes added! 😉
Many of the brands like Free People, Lululemon, Madewell, and Good American are sold NWT on a lot of auction shows and with super low start bids. I think that definitely affects sales across all the selling platforms.

What are yall doing to get sales on poshmark these days. I was getting 10-20 sales a day and now I am LUCKY to get 1 on poshmark. I have 3000 items. What is going on?!?!?!?!
For athletic wear I LOVE selling Alo (new tag of course) if I don’t end up keeping it for myself since it’s one of my favorite brands! Also Set Active is really hot, Vuori, Skims, and newer Lululemon ❤
I am not a fan of going through athletic wear section. I walk by it and glance, but that’s it. Not my niche at all. I feel bad you and other resellers are stuck with a lot of athletic inventory. XS/0 is a skip (99% of the time) for me in any brand. Reselling is not what it used to be. You don’t post measurements? I hate measuring everything, but I feel like I wouldn’t sell anything without the measurements.
It seems that our thrift stores around here in rural Indiana have mainly department store brands. I'm trying to find some of the brands you and others on UA-cam mention.
I think a part of the reason why especially active wear has not been selling for as much is because amazon especially has a huge amount of great quality workout clothing for very cheap!
Yeah Rothys don’t sell anywhere near the prices they used to. Not great for selling but it’s one of my fav shoe brands so it’s great to buying Rothys. My local thrift also prices Rothys at $35 and up which makes it not worthwhile picking up
I also don’t pick up Betabrand anymore! Used to do well but now I’m sitting on a lot. Madewell and Spanx used to do much better as well, but now I have to be more selective. Levi’s wedgie jeans do okay for me but just bread and butter, $30-35 sale only.
Thanks for the vid! So much of this is subjective which makes it difficult but I cannot move Women's Levis to save my life. Men's Levis sell well for me. TopShop has never sold for me and thinking of taking it to Plato's Closet (I don't have Crossroads).
I always find nice clothes for myself on Poshmark because I wear an XS and 2/4. But when I list my items to sell, and they’re all either unworn or worn a few times, they take forever to move. And nothing is on trend because I’m old. This has been eye opening. Just both of my sons clothes move quickly on there, but has slowed down since the live shows
I stopped reselling in 2018 and just started up again in 2023. Free People and White House Black Market used to sell for me really well but not anymore. Also CAbi and Quacker Factory used to sell well. I’m still trying to retrain my brain.
Lululemon sits. I don't pick up any athletic wear anymore unless is it a really substantial piece or NWT. COS, Madewell, Eileen Fisher, Johnny Was has been super slow. Just in general, I am being WAY more picky with what I pick up from these brands.
I think Vuori is starting to wane as well to be honest. It’s better than Lulu, but in general I feel like people aren’t making such a big deal over workout clothes anymore. I’m focusing on strong designer brands and vintage.
I pick up lots of small sizes for jeans but my COG is also quite a bit lower than yours. My best selling small size jeans are Abercrombie and Levi's in wedgie, ribcage, and 501. I picked up one rag&bone size 23 and it sold in a week. Levi's i can't sell in any women's sizes larger than like a 30. Plus size levi's do not move. I should note for levi's I'm paying around $15 a piece for NWT premium wedgie, ribcage, and 501. I don't really source at the thrift anymore.
@@Chicago48 yeah I think her prices at her thrift stores are too high to buy to resell levi's. I sell lots of men's levis of all sizes but my COG is a lot lower than hers. To sell the more common saturated styles you have to list closer to the bottom of the market.

Athletic wear in my thrift shop is 3 dollars so it’s like the cheapest thing I can get to resell
I always find nice clothes for myself on Poshmark because I wear an XS and 2/4. But when I list my items to sell, and they’re all either unworn or worn a few times, they take forever to move. And nothing is on trend because I’m old. This has been eye opening. Just both of my sons clothes move quickly on there, but has slowed down since the live shows
Omg same I'm that size and 43 so nothing I have sells. I think most people who are xs are like high school and college age now a days.
where did you purchase your shelves and finally, watching your vides is encouraging me set up my loft, shelves will be idea. Thank you PLESAE!!!!!
I have the same question 🙏
Home depot!
@@MogiBeth Thank you so kindly 😊
I stopped reselling in 2018 and just started up again in 2023. Free People and White House Black Market used to sell for me really well but not anymore. Also CAbi and Quacker Factory used to sell well. I’m still trying to retrain my brain.
Lululemon sits. I don't pick up any athletic wear anymore unless is it a really substantial piece or NWT. COS, Madewell, Eileen Fisher, Johnny Was has been super slow. Just in general, I am being WAY more picky with what I pick up from these brands.
Gymshark leggings always sell for me! Even xs!
I also sold a pair of Levi's shorts for $20 this week. But I have a pair of 501 just sitting. Won't pick it up again. What about their denim jackets?
I have a lot of Levi's pieces. Don't seem to get much interest anymore
I imagine athletic wear was a lot more popular when people were sitting at home much more than usual a couple of years ago.
That’s a great point!
I think Vuori is starting to wane as well to be honest. It’s better than Lulu, but in general I feel like people aren’t making such a big deal over workout clothes anymore. I’m focusing on strong designer brands and vintage.
Vuori, Cotopaxi, arcteryx, smartwool, sell well but are hard to find for me
I pick up lots of small sizes for jeans but my COG is also quite a bit lower than yours.
Men are going to the thrift stores and buying Levis. They don't care if they're rough looking, it's cheaper than buying new.
@@Chicago48 yeah I think her prices at her thrift stores are too high to buy to resell levi's. I sell lots of men's levis of all sizes but my COG is a lot lower than hers. To sell the more common saturated styles you have to list closer to the bottom of the market.
Vuori right now is selling well I have had two pieces and they sell in less than a week
Spanx-- anything under a large won't pick up, torrid won't pick up, eileen fisher under an XL won't pick up, madewell anything, lululemon --90% of the leggings won't pick up, betabrand won't pick up, girlfriend collective, outdoor voices, athleta- 90% of the styles won't pick up, fabletics anything, and sooo many more lol
Lululemon I used to be so excited to find it but it just doesn't move good for me at all
At 9:52 I could not understand what brand you mentioned that is the hottest selling brand for athletic
I think it's Vuori! Or Arc'Teryx. Both are 🔥
What printer do you used to print your labels?

Depends on the item 😊

No’s for me. Free people and Madewell.
